Flash Heating and Home Repair

I called Nat to tell him my a/c system wasnt working and he came out that same day to see what was going on with it. After determining it couldnt be fixed he quoted me a price that was very good to replace my inside and outside unit. But here's the best part, he told me he was swamped and couldnt get to it for a couple of days but that he could bring over a portable a/c unit that would help me get through to when he could get it in. Sure enough that evening he brought over the unit and we were able to be comfortable until he got to us a couple of days later. He did the job just like he said he would and we are very pleased with the work. We would highly recommend Nat and Flashing Heating and Home Repair. This kind is treatment is rare now a days so I'm sure you would be as happy as we are if you use their service.

We called Flash to set up a gas line for a stove and dryer and they were great! Very reasonably priced and quick on the job. He managed to squeeze us in within a week of calling him. Definitely would recommend!

Quick, efficient and knows his stuff! I decided to call FlAsh heating based on the reviews here and they proved correct. He is kind and conscious of your time.. Within an hour of my call he went to my home , while my renters were at work ( with permission of course) and fixed it! So no one had to miss work and the house was cool when they got home! Cannot speak highly enough of Nat and of Flash Heating as a whole. He was always extremely fast to communicate and made sure we had all the info we needed to make a good decision. His guys knew what they were doing, and they replaced our inducer motor for HALF what another company quoted us. Flash also gave us straight answers about the condition of our furnace, while the other company fearmongered us about having an old dangerous furnace and told us it needed replaced (with the brand they conveniently carried exclusively).

Our furnace quit working and my wife called one of the big companies in the valley (Western). They came out, told us there was a crack the width of a finger in the heat exchanger, and gave us a quote on a new one. I called Flash Heating and Home Repair for a second opinion. Nat came out and found the crack, but it was much smaller than Western had claimed. Nat also gave us quotes on new furnaces, beating Western by about 40%. To replace our old 80% efficiency furnace with a newer, more efficient model required a new PVC exhaust system as opposed to the existing metal one. Flash included this as part of the quote, but Western didn’t bring it up which made us feel like their high estimate included some surprises down the road.

We called Western again to see if they would meet Flash Heating’s quote and they stated that smaller companies weren’t typically trained and certified and that the installation would likely be an issue if we went with Flash Heating. I read the 50 or so reviews on Flash Heating and only found one that mentioned new furnace installation and the reviewer didn’t include any details. We ended up deciding that if the repair reviews were so positive, they must know their stuff. We went with Flash and purchased a 96% efficient furnace with a 2 stage gas nozzle and a variable speed motor, for about the same price Western quoted us on an 80% efficient motor with no modern technology upgrades. (By the way, I did a present value calculation on the savings we’d receive on a more efficient furnace and found that we could justify an additional $3800 on a more efficient furnace. That’s more than the entire quote we received from Flash.)

Nat brought an assistant the day of the big job. They took their time and made my entire system look better than it had before. Replacing the filter in my old system had always been an issue. I didn’t identify it before and it wasn’t part of the estimate, but they replaced the filter portion of the duct system and made it easy to access. The PVC work was exceptional and professional. The metal work was perfect. They really knew what they were doing! The job ended up taking them longer than they had anticipated, and I appreciated their attention to detail. It would’ve been easy for them to cut corners to finish the job on time or early, but they didn’t. Through the whole process they remained professional and courteous.

There are not enough vents in my home so I asked Nat about cutting out a couple of extra vents. He stated that he could and added them to the job without adjusting the estimate. The new vents were straight forward and it may not be the case that he’d be able to do that for every job, but he did it for us and it made me feel like I was getting a great deal on an exceptional job. The installation also came with a new wifi thermostat – a nice surprise.

We had worried about the warranty, but the manufacturer’s warranty exceeded that of the equipment Western had chosen for us. Nat also provided a 2 year, no-worries warranty that is not typical in the heating industry. If anything happens to our system in the next 2 years, I have full confidence that Nat will take care of it and that we will not receive a bill for parts or labor. In all ways I found dealing with Flash Heating and Home Repair a positive experience.

We came away feeling like Western had used scare tactics on us and that Flash Heating had been open and honest with us. Hands down I would use Flash Heating again.

Nat was great! He offered me a second opinion on my furnace at no cost. And I'm glad I got his opinion as one of the other companies in town was trying to pressure me into getting a new furnace. With Nat's assessment, I realized my furnace wasn't in as dire of straights as the other guys had indicated.

Nat and his crew work to provide the best service at the lowest cost to you. Honest crew and doesn't try to force unneeded expenses on your repairs. They work well with your schedule and follow up even after the job is finished. Couldn't ask for anyone better.

Nat is an awesome repair man. My wife and I were dealing with an air conditioning unit with a broken compressor in 100+ degree heat. The temperature in our house was over 90. Nat was able to quickly diagnose the problem, and have a new unit installed in a day. He answered all of our questions; and I would highly recommend him for your repair needs.

Our furnace stopped working on Thanksgiving. Nat answered and had Kev come out... On Thanksgiving! He found a way to fix the issue and got us back up and running same day. These guys are honest and really care about getting the issue resolved in the most efficient and cost effective way. I highly recommend them for any furnace issues.

If you are looking for a trust-worthy, independent HVAC professional, Skip is your guy. We were told that we needed a new AC by one of the larger Treasure Valley companies. I called Flash for a second opinion and he was able to fix the problem immediately for a very reasonable price. He also explained the rationale for what he was doing as he worked, which was very helpful. I will definitely be a repeat customer should the need arise.
