Knights Air Conditioning

I needed my 20+ air conditioning (& heat pump) unit replaced. I contacted three top-rated companies serving Apollo Beach after reading through AngiesList, HomeAdvisor, FaceBook and Google reviews.

The promptest and most professional was Knights Air Conditioning! Compared to the other two, Knights answered all my questions and came to the estimate meeting fully prepared. They pulled my house's specs from Hillsborough County, did the calculations needed for the county permit and gave me a written quote (including specs on the proposed unit by model number) before leaving.

During Knights' estimate visit, there was no "up-selling" or any attempt to add to the cost. In contrast to the other estimates that talked about costs "in the neighborhood of $xxxx".

It took an additional day for the other two companies to email me quotes that contained just a total price - no specifics as to what equipment would be installed.

Knights' quote being the least expensive ($1,800 less than the most expensive) - combined with the professionalism and patience they displayed, we scheduled them to install a Goodman heat pump with a 10 year warranty.

They arrived on-time, removed the old unit and hauled it away, installed the new unit and tested it. We also had a wireless thermostat installed. In less than six hours, the new unit was installed, running and we could change the temperature with our cell phones. (OK, I know this sounds like an indulgence, but it is nice to bump up the temp on cool morning without getting out of bed.)

The Hillsborough County inspector came out to sign off. After his inspection, he said something that surprised me - "... if they did as good a job on the inside as they did on the outside, it should last you are very long time."

The unit was installed on 1/26/18. We have been using both the heat and cooling during the last two months and the unit has performed flawlessly. We are very happy with the performance (and the wireless access to the thermostat.)

My recommendation to my friends and neighbors is simple. Get at least three estimates from companies with excellent reviews, ask all the questions you can and make sure one of the estimates is from Knights Air Conditioning. I think you will make the same choice I did.

This company is the best! My AC went out and they came to my house within 2 hours to come and take a look. They got to the root of the problem and even fixed what was installed improperly from the previous company. Professional service delivered promptly sums up my recent experience with Knights Air Conditioning. My old air handler was located above the ceiling in the garage. New new unit is located neatly in the garage blow. Easily accessible and quieter than before. The new larger and more efficient compressor is located nearby. Am very pleased with entire project. I called Knights Air when my air went out. I told them I needed a new thermostat. They came that day but it wasn't the thermostat it was the condenser. They brought me portable units and kept us cool until they got the new unit in. They saved me and my fur babies for sure. They are an awesome company and I recommend them totally. I had 2 other AC companies come out and attempt to repair our issue with the ac unit. The issue persisted and then Knights Air Conditioning came to the rescue.
