Had an oil delivery today 2/17/23 price was $5.099 per gallon. In doing some price checking in New Haven County for 24 different companies' lowest price was $3.02 the highest was$4.249 per gal. We will not be using Petro oil next year.

Worst company I have ever dealt with. EVERY Single time they are scheduled to do something they have another issue pop up. Something else that needs to be done that should have been told to me before. No organization, no list of requirements to get propane or guide for what to expect. Dealt with Brian as a coordinator-his answer is "it's not my job to coach you" well I am the one spending thousands of dollars on there service a year. U think dropping 4 tanks would denote some basic clarity and understanding of what needs to be done. They have had my account for over 2 months!!!! And I still don't have propane and it's 30 degrees out now!!!!

They don't keep appointments and make you feel like you're not valued. I didn't even get an apology for blowing me off. Instead I get told like a child in a condescending tone "there are other customers" and "you'll need to reschedule" after waiting over a week. So I thanked Peter for letting me know that they didn't want my business by his attitude and behavior and advised them I will never use nor recommend them to even my worst enemy. Update the regional manager for the area reached out to try and fix the issue. So as a company I can say they do care. or at least management does. So I would say try them with caution. Hopefully you have a better experience than me. As for me I only need to be told once that my business isn't wanted.

I being an elderly senior citizen have used this company for over 10 years . I returned home from having hand surgery to find one of their oil trucks in my driveway and when I opened my garage door much to my delight the driver had overfilled my tanks spilling oil all over my garage floor. They sent over a technician to clean and put down speedi dry. My wife and I had to leave our house for three days due to the smell. After we got home the transportation manager Joe LoCasio assured me that Petro would pay all expenses associated with clean up . Lo and behold 2 months later after chasing them down the claims adjuster Michael Cariello advised me to contact my house insurance for payment for my expenses and time . That is how this company treats its valued customers.

The tech. was kind, knowledgeable, professional and respectful. I’m happy with the service thus far.

This is an update/edit of a previous review. I had a complaint about a delivery of oil that I was not supposed to receive. Petro's head of delivery reached out and personally took care of the issue. I appreciate the professionalism and customer service.
Overall, Petro supplies me with oil when I need it, and service and repairs when needed as well. Not much more you can ask for from your oil company.

Petro home services rescued my family when our heat stopped working.

Winter storm Kenan was on its way and my wife noticed we only had a quarter tank of oil. I called our usual oil delivery company(not Petro home services) and they made it out the night before the storm to fill the tank. During the night my oil filter clogged and I woke up to a very cold house. The snow was already falling and temperatures continued to drop. The oil delivery company I was using didn't do repairs, only delivery, and the company that used to service my furnace went out of business. I was desperate and before I even got a company on the phone I made sure to transfer money from my savings to my checking account. I dreaded the bill for emergency service during this terrible snow storm.

I called around and was told no, if you're not an existing customer we aren't going to come out any time soon. Then I stumbled across Petro home services which advertised 24/7 customer service. I called and they told me that they offered service plans along with their automatic delivery service. I am someone who is hesitant about delivery contracts but they assured me it will be month to month with a variable rate based on market conditions and they shared their current rate which was competitive, albeit not the lowest. I signed up for the value plan, which covers my forced air oil Furnace, and 24/7 emergency service. The value plan was very affordable and also included an annual summer tune-up. I was shocked to be getting such a good deal at such a desperate time! The service representative made sure I understood everything about the contract and went over it twice with me. After I agreed and committed to the plan the representative informed me that a dispatcher will call me within a couple hours.

At this point, the winter storm was at its worst, wind was howling and snow was falling steadily. After a short wait, Petro called and said they would be at my home as soon as the roads were passable.

When the technician, Carlos, arrived they were in uniform and wearing proper PPE. Carlos was extremely empathetic to my situation and also got straaight to work on the repair. Using the proper diagnostic equipment, the trouble was found and repaired in minutes. Carlos is not just an expert at oil Furnace repair but also in making sure the job was done right. Although the repair was complete, Carlos spent a considerable and appropriate amount of time taking measurements and verifying the service was completely restored.

Petro home services did everything right to earn my loyalty as their customer for years to come. Thank you for providing an affordable service. Thank you to the customer service reps I spoke with, the dispatch team, and especially Carlos! Your company is only as good as your workers and you have some of the best in the industry!

I have been a customer off and on for 21 years and always have had excellent service. I returned this year 2021 after being with another oil company for one year. It has been nothing but a disaster for me. I tried to set up my account on-line and because I was a previous customer the system wouldn't let me, it took several weeks and numerous phone calls to fix. Finally fixed I paid my first installment on the phone and went to pay my second installment recently. Although my bank accounts are registered the system won't allow me to pay. Frustrated beyond belief.

Petro home service has been an awesome experience, the staff has always been very helpful and very professional over the phone and in person, to mask wearing and there pleasant attitude the service technician that has come out to my property was great. The only reason I gave them 4 stars is that the appointments for service are spread so far apart , and the arrival window sometimes fall later than scheduled, but unforeseen events happen 👍🏾
