My wife and I had Bob's Air Repair come out to check our ducts for leakage. Our house was always dusty, and hot in the summer even though the unit seemed to be on all the time, so I thought that maybe it was coming from our AC ducts. The Bob's Air crew came out and did a pressure test and found out that there were some holes in our ducts, so I had them do their aeroseal treatment. After that service, our AC system seemed to run a lot more efficiently, and our dust problem even got better! I've used Bob's Air Repair in the past for furnace repair, and they always did a great job, had clean and professional service guys. And they left the area cleaner than it was before they got there. These guys are top notch!
The technicians came out promptly and identified the problem quickly. My only complaint is, the part they said needed to be replaced was quoted to me as well over 700$ and when I searched that part online I found a range of prices, most under 400$. When I inquired about the reason for such a drastic price difference I was told “well we have to make money too.” I’m not sure if this is a common practice to mark up parts this much but I felt uncomfortable with the explanation. My heater was fixed but I felt a little taken advantage of.
I was new to an area with a Home Warranty and the heater would not work.. I called Bob on a Saturday and he answered. He explained things about working with the warranty. He made two trips in one day to fix it. Rita in the office was so helpful and kind. Great job!
My first experience with Bob's was approximately 2 1/2 years ago. It was a routine service check. The repair man informed me that I needed to replace a part ($250.00). I said no. I got two second opinions from other companies and learned that my a/c was in good working condition. Today my a/c is still in good working condition.
Looks like Bob's will try and sell you something you don't need. For example: Mr Thacker's review claiming that the repair man tried to sell him a new unit when he didn't need one. The owner responded claiming that Mr Thacker was not a customer. True. That's because he did not allow Bob's to con him in to buying a new unit. There are at least two other reviewers on Yelp who claim that Bob's tried to sell them a new unit they did not need.
My second experience with Bob's was approximately 1 year ago. It was winter and it was very cold. My mother's thermostat broke. I tried to avoid calling Bob's but they were the only company I could get quickly. Bob's charged an extra $100.00 to diagnose the problem. They didn't have to diagnose the problem. I told them what the problem was. A broken thermostat.
In the past a company would come to your home, diagnose the problem, and give you a free estimate. I guess those days are gone.
My opinion? Bob's took advantage of an 83 year old woman who lives on social security. They never told us up front that there would be an additional fee to diagnose the problem. They took advantage of the fact that my elderly mother was sitting in a cold house and needed immediate help. It cost her approximately $400.00 to have a new thermostat installed. I later learned that I could have purchased that same thermostat at Home Depot for approximately $85.00.
People. If it is not an immediate emergency. Get a second opinion.
Our heater quit working, and I called Bob's to have it looked at. Literally 45 minutes later, the tech arrived and diagnosed the issue, which required us to replace our aging heating/air conditioning unit. Pretty stressful situation, given the cost of the replacement, but Bob himself came out to talk about financing options and the generous warranty Amana offers. Two days later, we had a brand-new Amana unit installed, which has worked perfectly ever since. Bob's was great, and I'd recommend them to anyone who needs quick, thorough, accurate work. Thanks Bob!
I had Bob's Air Repair for my winter furnace check-up. The repairman was very thorough & explained everything he was doing. He took the time to answer all my questions. Very pleasant young man. I would highly recommend Bob's Air Repair. You can't go wrong.

I liked their efficiency, friendliness and help in understanding things I felt I needed to know (safety of items near the furnace, etc.).
