A great team. Professional all the way.
Explained in detail the process from start to finish. They even took care of the permits required by the city of Des Moines. They also took care of a electrician who worked the circuit panel. I was so impressed that I recommended them to 4 other owners in our Condo who proceeded to convert.

I recently hired Rainier Heating & Cooling to install a new heat pump and indoor coil which hooked up to our existing Air Handler with Heat Strips.

My first interaction was with Steve, their sales rep who initially came out to give us the quote and he was an absolute rockstar!! He took the time to listen to my needs and concerns and did a great job of expressing them. After the initial quote he was very communicative and I probably asked him a million different questions and assuaged any concerns I had about the investment I was considering. And to boot Steve was very friendly and easy to get along with. Steve is a real asset!

Once I decided to move forward with the install they got me on the schedule the very next week. They cost was reasonable and they even matched a cheaper quote from a competitor. The day of the install went great, the team was here early and got the job done quickly. The only hiccup was that the thermostat (the newer nest thermostat) was having issues properly detecting the wiring for the heat pump. After some troubleshooting they realized they need to regroup and come back the next day, leaving me with my electric backup heat to keep my house warm. This was acceptable to me, however I got a call from Mike (the owner) a few minutes after they left and he offered to come over personally and help get the thermostat setup properly. He was at my door 15 minutes and we walked through the setup process together and got it working in no time.

After the install, I had realized that the heat pump was installed right under our window which caused it to fog up whenever it cycles off. I asked Mike if it would be possible to move a couple feet away from the window and he offered to fix it free of charge. I was expecting to end up paying for labor and parts but Mike wanted to make sure the original job was done to my satisfaction and he took care of it.

Our heating system shut down and we couldn’t figure out how to turn it on. It was late on Friday when I reached out to Mike, the owner. Even though it was late on a Friday afternoon, Mike immediately scheduled on of his guys to come out to the house. The issue was resolved by Justin, who knew exactly what he was doing and how to fix the problem. In addition to fixing the issue, he helped with a programming issue, and made sure everything else was working. The owner and the tech both acted professionally and with a sense of urgency. I highly recommend this company.
I just used this company again to install Ductless Heating/AC. They did an incredible job. Very professional, thorough, and helpful. Devon had a positive attitude through the entire install, even staying late. Mike and Steve were in constant contact with me through the entire process. Even when Mike was out of town, he made a point to contact me and handle an issue that came up during install. I appreciated the entire company as they worked to make the install a great experience. We are very happy with the work, and again, highly recommend for your Heating/AC needs.

I would definitely use Rainier Heating & Cooling again. They answered all my questions, were very informative, and responded quickly.

We had a problem with our heat pump. I spoke with Mike on a Saturday and Thomas was at our house Monday. They were both very helpful and professional. Thomas explained everything in terms we understood. With all the crazy heat we have been having, it was nice to have a quick response. I called one of the big name competitors before I called Rainier Heating, they said they couldn’t get anyone out until mid-September. I’m glad they were not available. I would highly recommend Rainier Heating.

After obtaining several bids from other companies, Steve offer competitive bid which is highly reasonable and fair. No other surprise charges. Professionally explained all options and help us to choose which best for our home. Highly recommended and outstanding customer service. Me and my wife are very happy and satisfied.

Extremely happy from start to finish!
I am mechanically minded and do understand a little how heat pump systems work. So after not feeling comfortable with the first two companies and bids; I got two more, again same feelings same bids. I am thinking are all these companies working together? Ready to give in to this is just how it’s going to be; I decided to get two more bids and make a decision. Fist bid same feelings same bids.
Rainier heating was the last company I called to come out and give me a bid. Brandon the service tech. came out and instead of just saying your system is old you need a new one, he tried to repair it first. He did get it up and running but after a bit it quit. It was and old system and the compressor failed.
Next day Steve their sale person come out and by the end of the day I had 3 bids low$, med$ and high end system.
I ended up going with the high end system as it was priced closer to everyone else’s low$ systems. The next week Mike had the installation team out and by the end of the day my new system was installed and running perfectly!

From making the initial appt to getting the estimate thru installing a new heat pump, everyone at Rainier Heating was fantastic. Steve and Mike graciously and patiently answered any and all questions that I had. Our installer Jeremy and his crew, Jonathan and Devin, did a fantastic job and were very respectful about everything. Can't say enough good things about this company. The guys at Rainier heating and cooling are a cut above the rest. They are friendly, professional, and dependable. We contacted Steve, explaining that we required a new furnace as our old unit decided to take a permanent siesta. He was very kind and understanding.
What impressed us the most about Steve:
(1) No high-pressure sales tactics.
(2) He listened
(3) He did not try and sell us something we did not need.

When Steve arrived, my husband took him down to the basement. One of the first questions my husband asked Steve was: Would it be possible for us to use the existing ductwork? Steve looked it over and said yes. Now, two other heating companies insisted we needed new ductwork, we knew this was not true. And the fact that Steve was honest was both refreshing and showed us he was both honest and has integrity.

Steve asked my husband if we gave any thought to installing an ac unit. My husband said yes, but that might have to wait until the following year. He suggested we add a coil onto the furnace so that when we decide to have the ac unit installed the coil would already be in place. Steve told my husband he would crunch the numbers and get back to us. A few days later, he sent the proposal, $5,700 we agreed, and he set an install date.

The installation:

Everything went smoothly, the guys were friendly, funny and professional. They did accidentally install the wrong thermostat. The furnace worked perfectly with it, but it lacked wifi, so we could not control the furnace while away from the house. I contacted Steve he apologized for the mix-up. We told him these things happen, and it was not a big deal. We asked him if the ecobee 5th generation thermostat would work with our furnace, he said he would talk to Mike and get back to us.

Steve contacted us and said yes, it would work, so we placed the order. Steve told us to let him know when it would arrive, and he would send the guys out to install it. The guys showed up a few days after it arrived and installed the Ecobee at no additional cost. We are delighted with everything Rainier has done for us. It is refreshing to see an honest company that does not take advantage of its customers.

I got a split pump installed by Rainier and I’m glad I went with them. I got five different quotes and they beat them all. The installers were professional, took the time to listen to what I wanted and got the job done perfectly. They even helped me submit my rebate paperwork to Tacoma power. I highly recommend these guys
