Do not shop at this store..terrible service and even worse return policy. Management and employees are rude and do not care about anything. The district manager Jim Jackson is a joke too! Won’t even answer is phone or return calls. Save yourself some time and just shop at Home Depot or lowes where they treat you right. This is the dollar general of hardware stores.

Ordered online and drove all the way here to get our wood burning stove. Man were they nice. The line was a bit long, but it went fast. Once I confirmed my online order, a forklift was in the parking lot already waiting on me. Couldn't have been happier!

After looking online for availability of the Briggs and Straton 208 cc motor I was looking for I drove all the way to the Burleson store, yes that is the store I checked availability at first.
I managed to find the slot on the shelve where the motor was supposed to be without any help, because there were NO CS reps on the floor I could find. the slot was empty so I went back up front and spoke with a cashier who called for a sales rep. I told him what I was looking for he agreed they show to have one in stock and would look in the store room.
30 min. later he comes back and says he cannot find it. I believe he tried his best, he was winded and sweaty from looking so I have no complaint with him.
My complaint is it showed to have one in stock, even in the store inventory which he checked, and the lack of people on the floor to help customers.

Bought a North Star generator a couple of months back. The generator is working fine, but at times it accelerates it self and then comes down. I took a video to show it to the mechanic. When i got to the mechanic windows i ask to see the mechanic. A guy was there, so I told him what was wrong (I assume he was the mechanic, since he said nothing when i asked). When I told him the problem he laughed and said I had to bring it to for them to diagnose the actual problem. (I did not appreciate the laugh). Then he said the mechanic would be loosing $40 dollars by just telling me the problem as he kept laughing. I figure he wasn’t the mechanic, so I ask to go find the mechanic. When the mechanic got there he looked like a nice guy that was trying to help, but the other guy stood by his side looking at him to make sure he told me nothing. All the mechanic said was that we had to bring it in managers orders. I said that I don’t care paying $40 dollars as long as he gave me advice to the problem. Moral of the story, is that yes, they might call themself pros on small engines but won’t give any advice. I am truly disappointed with Northern Tools, I’ve been shopping from them for years and spent a lot of money in the store for my business. I did not appreciate the laugh at all.

I called the south Ft Worth location on 06/07/2023 and wanted to speak with a Stihl salesman about purchasing a new chainsaw, what I got instead was a stocker answering the sales phone line. The only thing he was right about was that this location doesn't stock the 20" bar for the saw I was attempting to purchase, but on their own website it is an option for most of their chainsaws to get a 20" bar instead of the 18" at the same price. He informed me that the mechanic would need to special order the bar because it was difficult to order non stocking items from Stihl. He seemed to think that this conversation was funny because he kept laughing about the situation, so I asked to speak to the manager, but was sent to the mechanic instead. I asked the mechanic the same questions with pretty much the same answers, why would you be a Stihl authorized dealer and know nothing about the product you are selling? While I had them on the phone I asked each one to look up what remaining warranty I had on my Stihl pole saw and each one of the 3 people I spoke with didn't have a clue how to look it up and said that they didn't have records past 6 months. When I asked how they looked up warranty when a customer brought an item in to be repaired the mechanic suddenly knew how to look it up. Then I finally spoke with the manager which he was about as informative as the stock boy, he didn't know why they don't stock the 20" bar for the chainsaw and I guess doesn't know how to order one either. Almost forgot they are also 8 weeks out if you need anything worked on like a pole saw chainsaw etc.!!! Time for some training maybe?!!! by the way this was a 29 minute phone call to accomplish nothing thanks Northern tool for wasting that portion of my remaining life!!!

I took my portable generator in because it wouldn't start. Generator repair guy told me generator was no good because it had no combustion. I was confused because Gene was 2 years old and only ran it for 1 weekend. I almost discarded it when a friend said he would look at it. Turns out it was only a spark plug. I feel like it was an attempted scam to think I would just leave it there so he could resale. TThinking aboutabout calling BBB
