Initial appointment with the Sears rep started out rocky. The rep was late for the appointment then, he rescheduled and was late for that appointment. Sales rep told us that work could begin within 1 week. After selections were made and contracts signed, we were informed, by project coordinator, that a permit was required by our township. Work began 4 weeks after purchase. The contractors were excellent and the job took only 2 days. We are very happy with the job.

Excellent job. Sears arrived on time and got the job done as promised. They clean up after. Neat job. I'm impressed

Very disappointed with the service. At first before signing the contract, I was a priority. They informed me since it was winter and very cold, they will put a rush on it. They promised the job to be done ASAP! Once they had my money, they took their sweet old time. I was no longer a priority after signing the contract. They even avoided my call when I inquired on why is taking 5 days to have someone start the work. They were rude to me. Do not use Sears If you want the job done in a timely manner

had a mini-split system installed and it has been the most horrible experience. They gave us false information about the financing as well as the sizing of the Unit and where the condenser could be located. They went ahead and did all the lines before checking with me then it was too late to change anything. They told me nothing would be charged until the work was complete and we were satisfied but started charging me before the work was finished. Stanley Ortiz the sales person who disappeared after his selling job was done and never got back to me when I tried to communicate my dissatisfaction with everything. The condenser was huge and was never communicated it would be that size or that it could not be installed on the side yard. Because of the HUGE condenser now I have no backyard space. I cannot tell you how upset I am. The wall units were left with black ugly wires etc. Hack job installation - They were not going to cover the wires until I made a big deal about it. They left dust and particles everywhere, being scared of lead paint, I had to get everything thoroughly cleaned. Also I have to have someone touch paint everywhere around the unit as it's full of iron paint etc. Also, they left the holes behind the wiring so you can see it through the covering they put. And they covered the prettiest part of the arch in my dining room without letting me know that was going to happen or that the black wiring would be visible like an eyesore. Please save yourself trouble and go with someone else.

Update 9/23/18: Thanks for the lip service when I sent an email as requested by service provider, I did not get a reply back. Why even bother responding if you are not even going to bother with a response. Another 10 mins wasted of my time. Just horrible.

Wanted to expand on my one-star review....

The serviceman who came out was friendly and knowledgeable. We had absolutely no problem with him.

The reason for the one-star is the price of a service call. We were charged $164 just for him to come out, which no one told us when we made the appointment. We ended up deciding that the cooktop should be replaced, so no actual work was done, just $164 for the service call. When I told the repairman that we were unhappy, he referred me to the Sears Home Services headquarters in California. I called them to ask if we had any recourse. Was put on hold several times, as they told me that the local offices set their own prices, and they had NEVER heard of a service call price that high anywhere else in the US. In the end they said there was nothing they could do about it since the local company sets their own prices.

Ugh. Never buying a Sears appliance again.

If you are in a hurry do NOT plan a project with sears. I met with the sales rep the first week of April and was assured that the project would be installed by Sears people and within 3 weeks. June 4th I finally called Sears to check on the progress and the materials "just arrived". The installers were late, no call, in tshirs and cut offs with a very small ID and sketchy. They did not bring all of what they needed and left twice to go to the local Lowes for needs. They came back the following day and worked but left one final corner piece to install. When he tried to install the door, it was the wrong size.
Communication with the supervisor, Scott was done on email and phone. He was supposed to call me back or a final decision July 8, but it took me emailing his supervisor Gina to get a response. As it turns out they were not working with that shower door company anymore. The replacement was ugly and cheap. I refused that door and tried to get them to settle the account with credit for that door.
Finally I settled to have the door removed from my order and get the installer back to do the final corner piece on October 20. His work was good and he was even frustrated with management.
My new door will be installed by another company next week (Oct 26). It is much better quality by a shower door installer specialist.
Needless to say I have not been able to use this shower since June (unacceptable).
I made several mistakes here. The first was not checking the work of Sears on the web. The second was not getting a second bid for the project.
Learn from my mistakes and problems.

I have been dealing with Kurt.. it was always a pleasure. I didn't decide when he come out to give me the quote that I wanted to install the Heat pump central air unit until later that day, and he squeezed me back in to come do all the paper work even though he was no longer in our area. When the install crew came and they ran into issues i was glad to see they didn't just do whatever to make it work, they took the time and made sure the job would be dint correct even though it took a them a few days to get the right parts, and rework the whole plan. The installers were courteous, clean and professional. They were always in contact with we during the whole process and the pricing was cheaper then that over local companies with a better product! Highly recommend !

My experience thus far is less than one star. Isigned a contract for home improvement with sears on August 13. They cashed my check of more than 1,000 dollars. they have yet to take the initiative in terms of telling me when the job will be done. I chose sears because of the trusted name. I am not in fear of losing my deposit. I WILL get it. But if you can't trust Sears to respond professionally, who can you trust. I know mine is not the only home improvement project. I waited what I thought to be an ample amount of time. Sears, just let me know when to expect the job to be done. I cannot make plans for the next month until I hear from them This is an atrocious way to so business. Shame on you, Sears

Well I had a brand new air conditioner and heater put in by Sears took several days they did a really great job was supposed to give me a five year warranty but they only gave me a warranty on my heater did not warrant my air conditioner have no idea why. A year went by and I wanted to get my heater cleaned so I called the guy that put it in and he told me he would not do that 6 months later I'm still looking for someone to do it thank you so much serious

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Poor customer service, lack of knowledge. I have NEVER experienced something so horrible. I have been calling since Saturday 03/17 to rectify THEIR mistake and it is now 3/22 and it’s still not done. I’ve asked for a supervisor after being transferred multiple times, one rep even says “sorry to hear that, please hold” and TRANSFERS ME AGAIN BACK IN THE QUE. THEN the next days they’re gonna have a sup call me back? This was on Saturday guys! Until this current day, I have no call back. I will begin calling again at 9AM.. I wouldn’t have even given them one star but I have to forewarn everyone. Make it all bad, I’m a new homeowner so I’m a new customer to them for the all home warranty... I swear this is the worst service I’ve ever had in years!
