The diagnostic fee is $95.00, but it doesn't cover ANY work that might need to be done. Even clearing a plugged line that took 2 minutes!! The repair man told us that he had to charge $ 85.00 FLAT RATE to unplug the line because that was the company policy. He was very apologetic and seemed to feel bad that he had to charge such an exorbitant amount for such a quick fix. We agreed to it ONLY because we had already invested $95.00. This company policy is horrible. I called and spoke to the owner to see if she would make an exception under the circumstances and waive the extra $85.00 (as good customer relations) and she wouldn't budge. I'm disgusted that we had to pay $180 for a 2 minute repair. We have used Bluflame prior to this service call but we will not be calling them again.

The guy was very personable and knew what he was doing. Offered a couple of options and did not talk down to me. I was very happy with my service. I would not hesitate to use then again

furnace broke ... They rigged it up (for 300 dollars) said they had to order the part I need.. Took a week to order the part.. Set an appointment for the next day , DID NOT SHOW UP! Then when I call, I'm told I'm not a priority.. Then they schedule me a week later. (400 dollars). I Feel cheated..

I had a weird fix with just needing a rubber cap for the drainage pipe on a portable AC unit. The parts were no longer made for this unit and a big box store had nothing that would work. The gentleman in the parts department stayed on the phone with me to get exactly what I needed. Took the time for such a small fix.

Less than a week before Christmas, my furnace made a popping noise and filled my home with a smoky smell. With two little ones under four, I was very concerned about the cold and about our ability to spend Christmas morning at home. My husband called blue flame at 8 AM the next morning, and by 4 PM the same day, we had a new furnace. Our Christmas will be warm and cozy. Thank you so much, Bluflame!

We've used Blu Flame for 3 years now for cleanings, full AC replacement, and fixing our hot water heater. They've been very good to work with and are great at explaining what is going on and how they intend to fix it.

I have been working on the house of my fiancé in Sylvania. She had blue flame out to install (several years ago), a furnace, hot water heater and to supply gas to and hook up a new gas dryer where previously she had an electric dryer.

Since the first time I was in the house, there was a smell of natural gas. We weren't sure where it was coming from. So literally YEARS she has been living with this problem.

My first job that I had to correct was replacement of a plugged dryer vent. I know what you are thinking...that happens, not blue flames fault. I agree, however they were the ones who installed the gas and the dryer and then hooked it up to a vinyl spiral wound vent...a definite no-no. So I replaced the duct and was hoping the smell would go with it. No such luck.

So looking around her house and the work that blue flame did, I noticed they used this new flexible corrugated gas line. But the install was kooky. The flex line went through a layer of drywall, and emerged on the other side through a cast iron hub ( not sure of the terminology) which was connected to the wall with screws and anchors. I would have preferred a black pipe installation myself.

So yesterday I hooked the dryer up after a while without it during a remodel. Immediately the gas smell was back. So I snooped all of the connection points. No bubbles. Somehow the hub had pulled away from the wall a bit so I pulled it out and my fiancé said check the line behind the hub (so that is a connection INSIDE a wall, if you are following along). Initially no leak was detected, until I shot a ton of detector in the space and got one big bubble. For those of you who don't know, leak detector will only work well on small leaks, big ones are harder since the bubble pops almost instantly. I shut the gas off and took apart their fitting, but not knowing the installation technique, I went on a google search. Found the installation manual. Says there is supposed to be a silicone o-ring in the fitting. Guess what? No effing o-ring. no wonder. I was upset about the dryer vent before this discovery. Now I am pissed! It is amazing the house is still standing since the dryer vent was a fire hazard and the gas line was an explosion hazard.
Use this company at your own peril in my opinion.

Edit: Above I said there should be an o-ring. I may be mistaken, since there are many brands of this CSST material. My guess now (since I have been unable to identify the manufacturer of the gas line and fittings) is that the plastic "jacket" material should have been partially clamped down by the split ferrule providing the sealing. At least that is the technique for one of the products using split ferrules.

However, mistaken or not about the o-ring, these things are true;

1 blue flame hooked up all of the gas line
2 there was a leak from the very beginning, which she thought was coming from the garage, where the meter is. I think that there was a draw somehow on that part of the wall that was filling up with gas and getting pumped out to the garage
3 the leak was massive
4 nobody should have been in the house for 1 minute since the time the work was done
