I have a service contract with Bolton. I would like to take this opportunity to commend Curtis for the excellent service that he provided me during the service visit. He took time to diagnose the problem with the heater and explained exactly what was wrong. His professionalism and commitment to providing a high level of customer satisfaction is to be acknowledged.

I have had the opportunity to work with other technicians from Bolton and they have all been very professional and knowledgeable.

Bolton services came to help me solve a water main leakage problem and I was very impressed with their professionalism and expertise. Brian was very patient in answering all my questions and showing me exactly how things worked and what was going on so there would be no surprises. I just had a brand new A/C unit installed at my house and I was so happy with the overall experience that I wanted to write a positive review to thank Bolton's Company for going above and beyond! In the heat of the summer my A/C unit broke completely and this company quickly came out to my house, helped me pick the best unit for my needs and installed a much better, more efficient unit, and stayed all day to get the job done. I was so impressed and happy with the service, unit and work ethic that I wanted others to know about my experience. I think there are very few companies in Raleigh with this level of service. I also use them for my plumbing and electrical needs because I trust their service and prices, and they are always quick to respond. I highly recommend Bolton's Service Co.

The plumbing work Eric Grimes performed was actually pretty good, however the customer service provided by Eric and his manager Brian Wood was not. I paid $105 to Bolton in “diagnosis” fees 2 days before this plumbing work and I would think that was the purpose of the diagnosis and the results would have determined what needed to be done and the level of effort. I asked for a quote on the cost, and he said it would come in at $750 for the plumbing work for the "entire job" parts and labor. My wife had no idea until Eric came and asked for her credit card and she was not provided a receipt, even though she asked for one. He said it would be emailed to us. It took multiple requests over several days before I finally got a receipt and when I saw the invoice and amount charged on our credit card I was surprised at the total invoice in the amount of $1173.34, a 56% increase ($423) above what we had been quoted, with no explanation. I called and asked Eric for an explanation but he would not provide one, said I needed to talk to Brian Wood, the service manager. I asked him multiple times, and then he referred me to Brian Wood, and it took five days before you finally got back to me with an explanation. Brian stated "I looked over the invoice and spoke with Eric and there was some work that was above standard. They had to run new water lines to facilitate the install which required an additional man and material to get it done. With that being said I do feel like the charges are in line with the work performed. " I felt strongly that I should have been entitled to a full refund of the $423. Brian did refund $110, but I still feel strongly that the increased level of effort and cost should have been discussed during the "diagnosis" phase which we paid $105 for, and discussed with me and my wife on site, and the charges explained. This is why I believe that a full refund of the remaining overcharge of $413 is still appropriate. We have been Bolton customers for over 25 years and we have never been dissatisfied as we have with this incident.

Update on this review as of 07/16/2020: I am pleased to report that I received my refund check today in the mail as authorized by Will Bolton, owner. I want to thank him for handling my customer service complaint responsibly and professionally, and I appreciate getting the refund. I am totally satisfied with the outcome, and this matter is now closed. Thanks again. Bill.

For about 10 years I have had a service contract with Bolton Construction Service. One of my cooling units is 13 years old and the other is 22 years old. The heating units are also over 10 years old and with their annual service all 4 units continue to operate as new. Their technicians are well trained and courteous and will not try to sell something you don't need. About 5 years ago I had an emergency plumbing problem on a hot summer weekend and their technician was here within an hour after I called and fixed the problem. Providing great service at a reasonable price has kept them in business 93 years.

Bolton Construction was there with us through a renovation several years ago. They were prompt, courteous, professional and knew what they were doing. Naturally when we moved into a new place, we called on them again to be our "go to" company for plumbing, heating and air. Again, we couldn't have been happier with everything they did. The serviceman explained very clearly to us what was happening and what needed to be fixed - no game playing. Anyone needing some work done or wanting a yearly service contract on their units, don't hesitate to call Bolton; you won't be disappointed.

Curtis with Bolton was on time and did a thorough check of our home HVAC, 2 units, found three pieces that required replacement and explained what he did. He was very friendly and pleasant. I told him to tell Bolton that we will gladly welcome him back.

We have been with Bolton slmalm 25 years. They have handled plumbing and HVAC work. We have recommended them to several people, some of whom are using them.
