So pleased with how fast they sent someone out and how knowledgeable the service tec was. He had the problem figured out quickly, explained everything he would have to do and fixed in no time. Very professional too. I would recommend them for all your HVAC needs.

King Mechanical and Pilot Air is the best HVAC company around! Dan the service technician seemed as if he could fix anything and got our unit going in no time. I Would highly recommend these two companies to anyone who wants a quality fix with no nonsense.

Keith was always good to us before. We’ve had sooooo many problems with our HVAC unit (do not ever buy a Goodman) and he was always quick to get to our problems. But since the new people have taken over we couldn’t get it fixed. The problem has been ongoing on since last fall. They did send someone out when we came home from vacation and it was literally 120 degrees in our house. Sometime during that time the cool quit cooling and it started blowing out hot air but would not cut off on its own so it continued to blow straight up hot air the whole time. Thank God we had our camper here and we stayed in it that night. So, the tech said it was the thermostat and we paid for another one on top of the night on-call fee. It continued to happen sporadically but we could never get them to come while it was blowing hot air. Usually it was several days later and if the unit was working normally by that time they didn’t know what was causing it. We could cut it off a few minutes and then back on and it would be fine for maybe a day, a week or even a month but we couldn’t let it continue to blow hot air for days. So again we went out of town this past spring, hoping it was going to be ok for a few days only to return to a house that was 113 degrees. My husband called them multiple times and they could never get here for days and finally the woman who he had been talking to told him she would talk to somebody there, I don’t remember if it was a boss or whatever, and she would call my husband back. I knew then we were done with them because I knew she’d never call back and she didn’t. We found somebody else that found out what the problem was and it was NEVER the thermostat. The next unit we get will not be from King Mechanical and it will not be a POS Goodman.

It's 2:30am and our house is miserably hot, damp and almost uninhabitable. We built our home almost 10 years ago, with Westminster Homes. Our heating and air were installed by Keith at King Mechanical. Prior to closing, during our inspection, we noted a wet area on our oldest son's ceiling. The builder, Rex, had Keith at King Mechanical to come in and repair the malfunction in the air conditioning system, the area dried and the drywall contractor came in and corrected the cosmetics. Just 7 months later, on Memorial Day, our air conditioning completely went out. Keith came out, I followed him into our attic where a blast of cold air hit both of us in the face! Our ducts had not been properly secured and 2 of them were blowing cold air into our attic, in the heat of the day. Although Keith said he'd fixed them, our younger son, who suffers from an auto immune disease, has never had any airflow into his room, or the boys' bathroom. Our bonus room is nearly impossible to heat or cool, so we are forced to leave the door closed and avoid using it. In cold weather, we can't stand to stay downstairs. We run two space heaters, we've burned out an oven and run the heating system installed by King Mechanical. When I asked Keith about why he had only installed one unit in our home, when every other house with our same floor plan had 2 units, to heat and cool both levels independently, he said it was because our home had been built on a slab. Upon inspection and consultation with a builder, we discovered that that was, "Simply NOT true!". Finally, our son awoke to find that his bed, carpet and ceiling were soaked! Because he's being treated for now chronic respiratory illness, we hurried to get him out of the room, and began the cleaning and drying process. Upon further professional home inspection and disaster professional assessment, we discovered that not only was our system leaking, causing damage and mold risk, but it had never been properly installed, thus the poor air circulation and inefficient heating and cooling from the system. Because we had called Keith on that earlier Memorial Day, and 2 other times, including less than 1 year ago to help, I decided to call him again. To my relief, Keith again answered the call himself. I began calmly describing our problem, mentioning the high risk for mold, given the moisture, heat and darkness in the attic. To my surprise, Keith became extremely defensive and said that he didn't want to argue, saying, "Ma'am! I'm not going to argue with you over this matter! We'll just have to handle this in litigation! I have lawyers, so I guess I'll have to see you in court!" I never threatened a lawsuit or otherwise. I EXPECTED to have him say, "Ma'am, I've been out there several times. I don't want you all to have to call anyone else on MY work, so I'll come look at it for and we'll discuss the repairs, cost and how to avoid this next time." Keith was defensive, rude and self incriminating. It's clear that he knew his work was sub standard upon installation and that his makeshift repairs were bogus. When I told him that I had not expected him to behave so abrasively, rather that I thought he would appreciate the opportunity to not only restore his integrity, but earn our money and business, Keith abruptly hung up on me. Regardless of my obvious frustration, I never raised my voice, spoke inappropriately or threatened legal action. Our realtor is one of our closest friends and is ranked among the top 10 in Winston-Salem. I will convey our testimony to her so that she won't make the mistake of jeopardizing her reputation by recommending King Mechanical to any of her clients, builders or other contractors. I will spread the word.
