Covid delays aside, the process was very seamless and prompt. The staff are cordial and professional. I would definitely recommend dandelion. Geothermal system is such an upgrade. Seeing oil trucks making deliveries around town makes me smile in knowing that i no longer have to schedule those. Removing my oil tank and boiler for a more compact system giving me the extra space in my garage is also a great benefit.

Terrible. Installation process has been terrible. Company is non-responsive. There have been delays upon delays threatening the tax credit that was a selling point in the process. Their original borehole could not be completed. They move the location of a borehole 100 yards and began drilling a new one without consulting me or permission from me. I now have a wide swath of destruction across my entire yard that was not supposed to be there. They also neglected have anyone mark underground wires (which you pay for as part of the process). Not surprisingly they struck the main power line to my house. My house now has no power and no heat. I cannot currently live in my home. I miss multiple days of work due to these unfortunate incidents. Unfortunately I'm going to have to consider a litigation in order to repair my property to its original state.... I will continue to update this as I do with the company to rectify.. but in short that response is not accurate. 02/10/21 UPDATE** I feel an update to this post is an order. I have now been up and running system for just over a year. The system is working as designed and I believe it is running efficiently and effectively. I'm very much a fan of the constant temperature and the quiet operation of the unit. As for all of the problems I had during installation. To make a long story short. I had many conversations with multiple levels of management in the company eventually reaching the CEO. At the end of the day the CEO did what was right and fixed what was wrong also compensating me for my damages. Although it was a long process the company acted in good faith and followed through with their promises. Because of my experiences I cannot give a five-star rating that being said I would recommend geothermal from Dandelion if you are looking for a new system.

When I was looking into a geothermal system, Dandelion presented itself as a modern, efficient provider, but what I mostly experienced was a lack of customer service and delay. What was presented as an installation process that would take a few days took eight days over the course of three weeks. The first day the well diggers just didn’t show up and the second they just looked at my property and announced that I would have to wait three weeks for their small truck. The small truck then spent two weekends blocking my driveway.

Throughout this process the only time I heard from Dandelion was when I reached out to them. There was no attempt at proactive customer service to keep me informed about the process. Installation of the georhermal unit itself was efficient, taking just one day.

Since installation, I’ve certainly seen savings in thr summer , paying only the minimal charge for electric (my solar panels do contribute to that ), but I’ve seen no savings during the winter , consistently paying over $230 a month to keep the temperature at 68 degrees.

On the whole a frustrating experience.

My wife and I couldn't wait to try a geothermal air conditioning unit on our property. When Dandelion set up a booth at our local farmer's market, I signed up immediately. In our case, a number of glitches occurred. What impressed me about Dandelion was that every single problem was investigated and resolved. It took a while to do this but Dandelion never balked or tried to weasel out of their responsibility. I don't believe you really know what a company is about until something goes wrong. In my experience, these people back up their product. I would never hesitate to use them again.

Couldn't be happier with Dandelion! Our old HVAC was on it's last legs (service technicians used to laugh when I called them out), so it made sense to replace everything. With the incentives provided by federal, utilities & Dandelion themselves, the costs was comparative. Now that we have had the system in for 6 months, we are already seeing the benefits: lower bills, better air quality, constant temps all day etc. Do speak to them as you'll not regret it!

Hello! Want to express how happy we are with our new Geothermal Dandelion system. It's one of the best new things we did for our new but old (1930) house. Too give more detail - it was a bit of a long process form start to finish (3 months) -- between Dandelion and our HVAC contractor that we hired BUT it was / is worth it - Its working beautifully. We are thrilled!!

The workmen finally finished our New Geothermal system. and we are very happy with the project. It did take longer than expected but well worth it. The entire project was extremely interesting to watch and all the workmen were very informative. They answered all my numerous questions.
One of the reasons we decided on Geothermal was that we would no longer need the two large and noisy A/C units outside our screened porch. Their function was now replaced by the heat-pumps in our basement. .This spring I plan to plant a butterfly garden where the massive A/Cs once stood.
Since we no longer heat the house with fossil fuels we keep the house much warmer. Our electricity is from renewal sources so there is no more guilt about polluting the air.
We have not received our electrical bill yet so I can not comment on any price savings. But I was told our savings would be in the summer so I am expecting our heating bill to be the same or maybe more since now keep the house about 5 degrees warmer.

Incompetent and dishonest.
Go with a company with experience, not a tech startup that doesn’t have the knowledge on how to design a geothermal system. You’ll regret it.

The single most important thing to know is that my family and I love (LOVE, LOVE, LOVE) our new geothermal units from Dandelion. We have a pretty large, pretty old house in the Hudson Valley and we had two units installed, one to take care of the first floor and one that is a split unit and has an air handler in our attic to take care of the 2nd and 3rd floors. They work beautifully and our house is staying wonderfully comfortable year round. And our heating and cooling bills are much lower than they were.

All in all, our experience with Dandelion was very good. There were occasional bits of miscommunication or lack of communication, but we were always able to get ahold of someone rather quickly when we had a question. Sometimes news would happen seemingly out of the blue. For example, we were notified when permits were being applied for, but then heard nothing and nothing and nothing until all of a sudden I got an email that they were ready to come and install the following week, which came as a bit of a surprise. These are minor issues though.

The most negative thing I can say is that the drilling rig that came to drill the wells really destroyed the area where the drilling was done, which happened to be where we park are car and walk in and out of the house. There was about 6-10 inches of standing muck for weeks. We had to wear rubber boots in and out of the house and carry our children to and from the car! To their credit, when we brought this to Dandelion's attention they compensated us for the cost of having it remedied.

Overall, we have been extremely happy with the quality of the work that was done (e.g., we need a substantial amount of new ductwork done) and love our units. I would definitely recommend Dandelion to anyone (and I frequently do).

The Good: Where do I even begin? First off, we had recently purchased an old farmhouse after previously living in a city that had Natural Gas for heat. We were spoiled; the house was always toasty and we could walk around in shorts & a t-shirt in the dead of winter. All that changed once we bought our farmhouse. We were spending twice as much on fuel oil and that was with keeping the temperatures “tolerable.” We’d bundle up inside, have to lay under blankets when enjoying a movie, and were generally uncomfortable but “getting by” while burning away our money in fuel oil expenses. To make matters worse, our fuel oil company forgot to fill our tank three different times in two years and we ran out, leaving the house on the brink of bursted pipes and frozen pets while we were at work. We needed a change!

After some research, we stumbled across Dandelion and scheduled a consultation. We were happy to learn that they were also able to help us with other related projects we were wanting to do, such as upgrade our electrical panel and add dual-zone HVAC controls to regulate the second story separately, (and they helped us take advantage of grants & tax rebates that assisted in paying for all of that as well). What. A. Game. Changer. The house has been the most comfortable ever since we bought it, and the temperature is FAR more constant throughout the house. The less intense heat from the Geothermal pump means the system runs more often, but runs more efficiently, and so there are far less hot & cold spots. For us, the dual-zone has meant that we can finally be comfortable upstairs, not sweating, but also be comfortable downstairs, not freezing.

The Bad: If you can’t handle the bad with Dandelion, I’m not sure you should do *ANY* home projects. The only bad I can think of currently is only expected of any new company, or even an established company dealing with a new product, (and while Geothermal has been around for a long time, their methods are essentially new). The only real complaints I have currently is that they haven’t quite mastered the project timeline yet. They timeframe I was initially given wasn’t accurate at all, and the days I was told certain things were happening, (like the inside work), seemed to only come from my sales rep and never made it to the team actually doing the site work. Which leads me to my only other complaint, which I really link to the first anyway; communication. Communication is something *a lot* of companies struggle, large, small & in between. Both external & internal communication at times certainly seems to be in need of some improvement, however, I’ve dealt with a lot of new companies and new products, and I think with how young Dandelion is, this isn’t even worth knocking any stars off for. I equate this to going to a new restaurant during their Grand Opening. The staff won’t have things down 100%, and they won’t be as fast or efficient as they will be a year later, but you don’t grade them in comparison to established businesses. You grade them in comparison to other young establishments that are still ironing out the bugs, and I think Dandelion has it down *incredibly* well.

What matters to me more than anything isn’t how seamless the installation process is, but how the long term affects & memories are, and overall, the growing pains of the initial project are easily forgotten when I’m sitting in my toasty house, more comfortable than ever, while spending *less* than I was before, *and* while being environmentally friendly. Spending less to get more is usually a pipe dream, where if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is, but somehow Dandelion appears to have made this a reality, and for that, they earn a full five stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
