    Dear Tim Naas,

People who have a happy experience with a company tell a few people. Unhappy people tell everyone. We wanted to be the exception to that rule.

On 10/23/17 we responded to an offer from Dolphin Air Conditioning and Heating for a no charge service call at Tarry Towne club house. We had

two A/C companies look at our rooftop heating and air unit about four years ago (and three other companies as recently as last month). All of them told us that it was beyond repair and that we should just buy a new A/C unit.

Not having immediate access to the several thousand dollars estimated as the replacement cost in our budget in 2013 we were forced to make do with fans or sweaters for four years of quarterly meetings with members alternately roasting or freezing.

Thanks to Eric at CMG’s negotiation of a free service call, we called

Dolphin A/C to see if we could get a better price to repair or replace the unit and then put it in the budget.

Dolphin technician Steve Will and another tech showed up promptly at the agreed upon time and went right to work. Shortly after that the owner of the company, Tim Naas, showed up and introduced himself.

Tim informed us that the technicians findings were strange because, aside from the wires being disconnected and crisscrossed, someone had gone out of their way to remove some electrical connectors so that no one could run test the compressor. He explained to us that sometimes, after a technician tries to sell a unit using a lie about the real problem, they will try to disable the unit to cover their tracks. He said it’s an unfortunate reality in the HVAC industry. Ultimately his technicians replaced the stolen parts, rewired the unit correctly and attempted to start it.

To our great surprise the compressor that we were told had to be replaced started right up and ran perfectly. The Dolphin techs went on to test the rest of the system and found nothing other than routine maintenance was needed.

The parts that were taken by a former “repairman” ensured that the compressor could not be tested. They were also parts that were not normally stocked on a service truck, so Dolphin really went the extra mile for us.

Dolphin could have easily agreed with the original company’s false claim that we needed a new compressor. Tim also mentioned that unlike a majority of A/C companies who pay their technicians commission, his technicians are never paid commission and have no incentive to sell unnecessary parts. He wants his techs to have only the customer’s best interest in mind while performing service.

We are very happy we called Dolphin Air Conditioning out. Their technicians are top notch and we want everyone to know about them. We already referred them to another property and they again corrected problems that had been over looked and were likely to cause expensive failures.

Their professionalism, knowledge and prices are what everyone hopes for in an Air Conditioning and Heating company. The owner Tim Naas told us that they keep their prices low because they rely on word of mouth referrals instead of spending huge amounts on advertising that would impact the customer’s price.

In Dolphin’s case that is an approach that works and we encourage every satisfied customer to help them by referring them to everyone you know as we will.

    Sincerely,

All the 5 star reviews look like fakes. This company is 1 man with his son. There is no "Don" or "Steve" or other fantom techs. Tim the owner switched out my AC compressor under his son's private company so it won't be reported or something. It stopped working 3 weeks later. I paid $1300 for the work and when it went out they stopped responding to my calls. I have all the text messages for anyone who wants to see the details. Instead of fixing it they kept changing their story about why it was going bad and trying to make more money off me, saying it was something else. First it was because the coils were not clean and they wanted to charge me a couple hundred for that. After I cleaned the coils myself ($7 can of AC coil cleaner from Home Depot and a brush) all of a sudden they said it was the "capillary tubes" and asked me for $500 to fix that. I called a friend who owns an HVAC company and he said he's never seen any problem from capillary tubes and it's BS. When i asked them to warranty their work they stopped responding or answering texts. I'm reporting them to the contractor's board. Save your money, don't deal with this "company".

Steve Wills at Dolphin A/C & Heating was a kind, professional and informative person with repairing my furnace today. I highly recommend this company for all your A/C, heating and preventive maintenance needs.
