WHILE MY INITIAL REVIEW IS ACCURATE, I now need to say, they fixed the issue. I purchased a thermostat and they installed it at no additional cost, patched the hole and I now have what I wanted and I am happy with their service. Thank you for being the company I thought you were.

ORIGINAL REVIEW
I recently had an AC and humidifier installed. All went well until they were about to install a low-end thermostat which would require another hole in my wall. When I asked about it, they said I would have to pay them another $800 to install a proper thermostat. I was assured the salesman would call me the following Monday so that this situation could be resolved. When I received no call by Thursday I called him, had a pleasant conversation, and he assured me he would call me with a solution the very next day. It has now been 2 weeks: no response, no word, no nothing. While the system apparently works correctly, I now have an extra thermostat and an extra hole in my wall. It may not have been the intent but this feels a lot like a bait and switch: $800 for a thermostat that costs $150 and I had already paid the labor. Although it seems to work OK, I'm amazed they have no interest in resolving this issue. Having had my own businesses for 40 yrs, I understand how important a little effort is when it comes to customer service. I would not recommend this company. Wanted to keep it local but should have gone with Costco.

Mountain Heating & Cooling was recommended through my brother who had used Mountain Heating & Cooling in the past. When we called on April 21st, our furnace was not working. April answered the phone. She was courteous, had a great sense of humor, and listened to our concerns about our furnace issue. She assured us that Mountain Heating & Cooling would be able to help us that day! We were thrilled that we could be fit into their schedule. The tech that April sent to us was Debbie - what a nice surprise to see a woman in the mechanical arena! It was quickly apparent that Debbie knew what she was doing. She didn't waste anytime in trouble shooting the issue! The other issue was that our furnace did not have electricity to it and we needed to have an electrician before Debbie could complete her work. We did call an electrician that day, and he finally figured out the issue with the electricity. Our experience with Mountain Heating & Cooling was exceptional! Both April & Debbie represent your company very well! We will be paying our recommendations forward to all our friends who may need the services of Mountain Heating & Cooling! :) Please give our thanks to April & Debbie, as it was a stressful day with our furnace and both of them lightened our day! I, along with many reviews, was extremely pleased with the service I received from Mountain Heating and Cooling.
My first reaction was the excellent customer services provided by April. April was courageous and responsive to my calls.
The excellent services continued with the service call and inspection performed by Debbie who was neat, professional
and gave a detailed report on the Heating System. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Mountain Heating. 8 STARS!!

The last thing you want to have happen on winter's first blizzard is to have your furnace stop working. That's what happened to me this winter. I called every heating and cooling repair service in Bozeman, I'm pretty sure. April responded promptly and even though the company was flooded with calls, she sensed my panic and sent out a technician as soon as possible. When Debby responded, my house was a balmy 58 degrees and falling. She assessed the problem, somehow found the necessary part, and had my furnace back online promptly and professionally. There are not enough stars to thank you all for your work. It went above and beyond.

We could smell a gas leak from our house, which was obviously deeply concerning. Called Mountain Heating and Cooling, and Debbie was out here right away on the weekend to diagnose the problem & give recommendations. Andrew and Shaun were able to install a new heater **just one day** after it was determined the current one was no longer serviceable. This was a big deal with it starting to get cold. Everyone was super helpful and responsive, the turnaround was great, and we appreciate the effort from all three of you!

Everything about this experience was outstanding! Matt was our salesperson--very personable and thorough in explaining choices and systems. His quote came soon, we made our choice, and installation was just when we hoped. Andrew, who was a delight, notified us, arrived right on time, and did a great job of installing and cleaning up after. Matt checked in on situation as installation was being done. Josh, the electrician arrived mid-morning--was super friendly, helpful and efficient. Andrew came back to make sure all was in order and showed us how to work the remote. The Mitsubishi system is very quiet and cools the bedroom in no time. We highly recommend Mountain Heating and Cooling!!

I needed a new furnace 2 yrs ago, their salesman came out & sold me a very expensive furnace with a humidifier & an extended warranty. The warranty was for a tech to come out & make sure everything was running good with the furnace once a year & keep the actual warranty in place. The 1st year, I called to have a tech come out & was told I live too far away & they don't do business out here. I exp they either refund me my $ or get someone out here. They sent a tech out & he told me that after that they would probably want a trip charge. I said ok. Now its 2 yrs in & the water pump to my 2 year old furnace has broke & leaked water ALL OVER MY BASEMENT! I called them & was told 1) they don't do business out where I live, 2) the pump only lasts 1-2 yrs & the replacement cost is $378.00 for the PART ALONE! I told them they needed to honor the warranty, so they sent a tech named Debbie out who told me that 1) they wouldn't come out here again, 2) they were going to charge me a trip charge & 3) they would refund me the balance of my warranty fee & I could put it to the cost of the trip charge & the replacement pump. It took her less than 10 min. including walking back & forth to her truck to replace the pump. Total time here including talking to me was under 1/2 hr. They emailed me a bill where SHE had signed her initials, where I was supposed to have seen the estimate, which never happened! They supposedly owed me $435 for the refund, charged me $378.00 for the part, 1 hour to do a "difficult" diagnosis ( I told them what the problem was)! for $159.00 & $285.00 FOR A TRIP CHARGE!!! I have a plumber that comes from BELGRADE that charges me $60! Home Depot charge me $50 delivery fee for SOME items & THEY are in Bozeman! Guess if you are a Senior citizen, living alone & on a fixed income: they are looking for you!!!! When I called to complain, they informed me that I knew there was a trip charge! $285.00?! Along with the rest of the overcharging! WORST COMPANY EVER!! DONT BUY THEIR EXTENDED WARRANTY! THEY PROBABLY WON'T HONOR IT! They had NO problem charging me $9000.00 for an extended warranty & furnace or coming out here to install it, but NOW?? BTW: I am 50 miles 1 way from Bozeman, RIGHT OFF OF THE HIGHWAY in case you were wondering!

Jack installed a Mitsubishi heat pump system for us in our family room/living room in August. Definitely a five star rating! he was knowledgeable and quick at his work. Stayed with us until we worked out an electrical problem and got the unit running. We have run the system several times on cooling and heating cycles and everything works perfectly. We love our unit and how quickly it heats and cools our space. Thanks for working with us on this install we are happy campers! Five stars for Matt Wenger also for helping us through the bidding and contracting work also. He is very knowledgeable and personable in all the work he did with us!
