Love working with a local company. When I call, an actual person who works here answers (usually the owner). Techs have been effective too. Brian and Dustin are our favorites. :) I do recommend following up the day of service to check on the arrival window- sometimes the tech gets caught on a job that takes longer than expected and my appt can get pushed out.
I love to support local businesses and hate to be writing this. Our AC went out recently on a particularly hot stretch. We called Abel the next morning and they sent someone out to diagnose the issue right away (it was the condenser fan motor, super prompt which was great) the tech told me it was a fairly easy fix but runs 300 to 500 installed and that he would get back to me ASAP and could probably have it fixed that day. I never heard from him again and called 3 times trying to get an ETA on next steps(because a delay here might mean us and the kids sleeping elsewhere that night). I was finally called back at the end of the day and told “ yea sorry we didn’t get back to you, we can’t do it today it’s going to be 850 installed and we might be able to get it done tomorrow”. Given the poor customer service and nearly doubled quote, I declined, purchased the part new from a supplier, and paid for overnight air shipping (170 plus 90 shipping) and was able to install it in 30-45 minutes (plug and play, 12 bolts and 3 wires). What this came off to me as was them letting me sweat it out for an extra 8 hours in hopes I would pay the hyper-inflated rates to get it fixed (350 over the max the tech quoted and 680 over the price of the motor for a quick fix). Overall I was left pretty disappointed, felt a bit manipulated, and wanted to share so others are aware. Not cool guys (pun intended).
I called Abel's Heating and Cooling right away on Monday morning after a scorching hot weekend with no AC. A very pleasant gentleman answered the phone & took down my information. The scheduler called back about 20 minutes later & a very nice Service Technician was at my door within 30 minutes. He assessed the problem and repaired the unit on the spot! Fantastic service!
They responded with next day replacement when our furnace died. They were quick and did an excellent job. They've been our go to HVAC company for several years and they have always done a great job!
We had a problem with our furnace mounted humidifier. Jim from Able Heating and Cooling came out, diagnosed the problem, ordered the part, worked with the Home Warranty company and had it fixed the day after the ordered part arrived. Jim was very helpful not just with the humidifier but also checking over our furnace and cleaning a sensor while he was there. I would recommend Able Heating and Cooling to anyone else.
Everything was neat and clean and left in perfect condition. The installers were great to work with and kept us Informed on all details. We just got done painting the wall and was concerned about marks from installation. There were none. Great job!!!
Abel Heating & Cooling delivers what they promise. They did a major furnace replacement for me with two separate thermostat zones (upstairs and downstairs). Their service technicians are very knowledgable and friendly, went above and beyond to make sure everything was complete. I highly recommend them for any kind of job!
Can't say enough good about these guys! -23 today and -36 tomorrow not a good time to have furnace problems. Called them at 10am Brian arrived at the house around 1pm. It didn't take long to determine our 25 year old furnace was on it's last leg. Brian had another member of their team bring out some electric space heaters to get us through till they could get a new furnace installed. By 8pm the new furnace was installed and they were all cleaned up. I highly recommend Abel Heating and Cooling!
Replaced duct zone control. Great serviceman, Jim , replaced the component with ease. Only complaint is the company marks up the cost of components multiple times the manufacture's recommended retail price. The component charge was $319.60. The internet price is $108 and Manufacturer's list price is $135.
