Plumber just came to my house in Superior. He was great! He checked everything for a possible water leak from my water heater and found it was only two years old. So he thinks I had an increase in water pressure that caused the overflow to release a couple of gallons of water. He checked the water pressure and found it was around 70, so that is fine, he said. I’m going to call the city and see if they were working on water lines. In the meantime, I can rest without worry and use my hot water again. What a blessing it is to have, a company that will send someone right away! I called the big company in town and they said they would send someone but they did not. It was going to take weeks. I forgot the man’s name who was just here, but I know his last name is Johnson. Good luck, and God bless. Thanks for all your help!

When our water heater died, A.G. O'Brien was quick to respond. Their receptionist, scheduler, and Brian Houck, the service tech, were all, friendly and respectful; further, Brian and his assistant were, as well, quick, clean, and solid in their work. We've used A.G. O'Brien for several decades now, and will continue to do so.

We've had Jeremy fix two separate problems at our properties and he did so with professionalism and care. I hope we won't have a need for a plumber again soon, but will not hesitate to call AG O'Brien again if we do.

An amazing human working for AG O'Brien, squeezed us in just before Christmas to replace our hot water heater. The holidays are a notoriously difficult time for something to go wrong and no one wants to be working long hours in the days leading up to Christmas. Special thanks to AG for squeezing us in, doing an amazing job, being a delight to talk with, charging a reasonable amount, and even completing the job and closing up my house after I had to leave for an appointment that overlapped with the job. We will be using AG for all our plumbing related needs.

My wife was cleaning out cupboards and found some ancient shredded coconut which she put down the garage disposal. Needless to say it clogged the sink. I removed the traps which had some coconut but the clog was farther down the pipes. I used a snake but could only pass it about 4' and that wasn't far enough to clear the drain. I called A.G. O'Brien late on a Monday and they sent Kody Latvala out the next morning which I believe is excellent service. Kody called ahead, came on time and was a great guy, keeping me informed of what was going on. He had brought a power snake but it had issues at the tip and had multiple kinks and after working 2 hours he was unable to pass it much farther than I had passed mine. He removed the garbage disposal to try and access the plumbing via a vent. We removed the ceiling tiles in my basement so he could visualize the plumbing but he wasn't able to pass the snake beyond a 90 degree turn. He left and rented a different power snake but it took him an hour to drive to and from the rental shop. Once he had a working snake it took him 20 minutes to clean the clog. I had mentioned when I had called that I was also having issues with two toilets. I thought the wax rings had failed. One rocked and the other was leaking but that had not been put on the work order. He left and I called A.G. O'Brien and they were able to send him back the next day, again phenomenal service. He removed the first toilet and felt the floor flange which had been installed 30 years ago when the house was built was too high, hence the toilet had always rocked. He felt the basement toilet likely only needed a flapper. So he left to get parts. He spent 2 or 2.5 hours removing the old toilet flange and drain and installing one flush with the floor. He had to work in a very cramped space on a two step ladders that we improvised but he replaced the drain and spliced it back into the main PVC drain. It took him minutes to replace the flapper and he also tightened the tank which stopped a leak. He thoroughly cleaned under the toilet he had removed and he cleaned up after himself. Kody deserves 5 stars.

I initially ranked A.G. O'Brien 3 stars because I was charged for what I felt was unnecessary labor and material because of the need to drive and rent working equipment which I felt should not have been my responsibility. However, the day after posting my rating, A.G. O'Brien called me and agreed with my concerns and reduced the bill. I previously had noted that despite my concerns, I'd recommend them because they were very prompt and did excellent work and I anticipated the issues with the power snake to be a one off. I wasn't expecting them to contact me and agree with my concerns and reduce my bill which is very honest of them. I have therefore edited this review to 5 stars. In hindsight I wish I had been fairer to them and contacted them before writing my review but I applaud their honesty and will definitely use them again if I have any additional plumbing needs.
