“Orchestrated” - It’s the best term that I can think of to describe our recent experience with Bell Brothers Heating and Air Conditioning.
We were recently caught up in the Ankeny 10” rain with flash flooding which destroyed our basement. I contacted Bell Brothers early the following Friday after we got the basement cleaned up and Chuck was at the house before noon evaluating the situation. The Geothermal unit needed to be replaced and was a special-order model as equipped.
He arranged to have it built the following Monday to be shipped on Tuesday. The plan was to have installers at our house early that Thursday to remove the old equipment while another staff member picked up the new unit at the freight docks. I was told they would have AC running to cool our 90+ degree house by the end of that day.
It seemed like an overly optimistic plan to me, but they executed it exactly as I was told. As a matter of fact, the house was comfortable by 5:00
Their installers were extremely pleasant, hardworking and cleaned up their mess (and some if mine) before they left. I can’t recommend this company enough. They made what seemed impossible look easy.

Alex did a fantastic job of troubleshooting some issues with our geothermal heat pump. Very thorough, very knowledgeable. I will be requesting him specifically for future service/maintenance work.
However, I’m not as impressed with the back office for Bell Brothers. I had to call the office at least six times just to get an order confirmation and delivery status for a new control board for my heat pump. Then, they repaired a refrigerant leak in the same heat pump, charging me nearly $300 for a new refrigerant charge(understandable), but then came back a couple of weeks later and tell me that they didn’t fully repair the leak the first time so they had to finish repairing it this time, plus an additional Freon recharge to the tune of over $500 (very annoying). Not sure why I have to pay for the Extra refrigerant needed Because they didn’t fix the issue the first time.
So, overall I’ll give Alex 5 stars and the rest of the company 2 stars.

Dakota came to perform the free cleaning service provided since we had an new AC unit installed last summer. Dakota is very professional, friendly and polite. The office staff scheduling the service was also very friendly and professional. I am very pleased with the over all service I received from Bell Brothers!

The service technician called to let me know he was on his way, arrived on time, and did a good job. He replaced an ignitor in one of the furnaces that was close to failing and left the old one to use in case of an emergency. He cleaned up the area around the furnaces when he completed his inspections.

Bell Brothers is prompt, professional and honest (This means they do not use fear to sell systems). Hussein is the technician who has called on us a few times and he is definitely our go-to man when we need something done.
Today, 4/25/23, Jaren came out to provide our A/C with its Spring Tune up and, as every time Jaren responds to a service call at my home, he was friendly and very professional. He knows what he is doing and it shows. Thanks, Jaren!

Their annual maintenance plan helps us avoid unwanted surprises and puts us at the front of the line if something does occur. They contact me to make sure someone gets out 2x a year - I don’t have to remember. And their service techs are on-time, friendly, answer questions, and offer money saving tips.
