Met with Seth to discuss options and pricing for a new Heating and AC system. Came to an agreement on price and got in the loop for installation. Seth and technicians , Kegan and Tyler, showed-up bright and early on a Monday morning. By the end of an almost 90 deg. day, my house was once again cool and liveable. The installers attention to detail and workmanship was impeccable. I would highly recommend Poormans for any mechanical issues one might encounter.

Make sure you ask the price before you even call these guys out to fix anything. Otherwise, you will get a sock with the bills at the end. Get charged $1500 for just the ice machine. Will not recommend it to anyone in fort Wayne!! Scams

I found this company on a referral from an aquaintance, and here is my story:
We called because our electric heat was not blowing warm air and my house was cold. We were put on a "call list" so we had to wait until they had time to come out. My husband took the entire day off of work to ensure that someone would be there whenever the repairman showed up. Upon his arrival, the service man proceeded to our attic and tested lines and did the things that only they know how to do. He, then, told my husband that the issue was that we did not have enough upflow and outflow flow vents in my house and that was why were were not warm. He then proceeded to try to upsell very expensive equipment to fix our problem. My husband declined and the service man's response was "well, we will have someone from our sales department call you". He charged us $130 and said our heat was working. Now, we have lived in this home for 10 years, and we have NEVER had an issue like this before. If this was a vent and ductwork problem....why did it wait 10 years to rear it's head? We DO have high electric bills in the winter (we have a totally electric home), and I had already been researching different options to get that under control, but THAT DAY....I just want my heat to work.
The next morning my family gets up to a cold house. I have hear my furnace running and running, but the air coming from the vents is not heated. I sat and thought about the issue and eventually arrived at the decision that I thought the theromastat was bad. I, then, asked my husband if the repair man had check our thermostat when he was there. My husband replied with, "no, he went straight to the attic to look at the furnace and that was it." I on a Saturday morning, I take my happy and cold self to Mendard's, buy a thermostat, bring it home and install it, and guess what? NOW we are warm in our home.
On Monday morning my husband begins getting sales texts from Seth about selling us new heating system. So, I call in and speak to Chad and tell him everything I have just told you above. I am upset that I called them to FIX A PROBLEM, they charged me $130, the problem was NOT fixed, I had to THEN go and fix it myslef, and NOW I have sales people bothering us. Chad stood behind his people and believes I had been given great customer service! In fact, he was contacted by the service man at the house and gave his blessing to do the sales pitch!
Now, IF my problem had been fixed THAT DAY.... I would have loved to talk about a further purchase. HOWEVER, when you charge me to "fix a problem", and then you don't fix it, and I have to diagnose and fix it myself....and then you can't even offer an apology for the experience?? I will NOT be buying my new heat pump from Poorman's.

The fan on my air handler quit working, so I called Poorman's. Had someone at my house within hours. Justin did a great job, very professional, had us running in good time. Will definitely call Poorman's again if I ever need anything.

The team at Poorman's Heating and Air Conditioning is great to work with. They were excellent to work with when I had a furnace emergency and had to replace an entire unit in my home while it was freezing outside. They are very attentive and pay attention to the important details when it comes to heating, air conditioning and plumbing. If you need services for your home, they would work on your home's heating or air conditioning unit in your home like it was their own home. Thank you Poorman's Heating and Air Conditioning! Poorman’s Heating and Air has worked diligently to solve the heating and cooling needs of our church working with us and our budget. Recently techs Mitch and John hit it out of the park removing an old gigantic air handler and furnace installing new furnaces, duct work and vents through a small opening in the ceiling. Great job! Our AC quit working at our house on a Friday night. I called the 24-hour service number and Kegan showed up at our house within the hour. We have a geothermal and I guess it's set up is a bit unusual. Kegan did an amazing job, he was super friendly and didn't give up until he got us up and running again. I highly recommend Poor man's Heating and Air! Outstanding service and affordable.

Poorman's has been wonderful to business with. When they came to install my A/C and Furnace today, the guys were extremely professional. They needed to put the A/C unit in a different place due to a water meter being in the way. Rather than just moving it, they asked me if it was okay to move. They answered all my questions no problem. Couldn't recommend these guys more!

Install went seemless with some minor fixes that the inspector nit picked on inspection, but they came right out to fix and resubmit. They even went above and beyond when they came to light the piolet light. I had some plumbing issues and the tech was able to get a bandaid on it untill their plumber came out to properly fix it.

Our furnace went out on Friday before the holidays & we called everywhere to get a part for furnace no one would sell to an unlicensed contractor! So we waited till Monday & Trane only does wholesale but they gave us Poormans number & they made a special trip to get us part we needed! They really went above & beyond & now our furnace is fixed & just in time for it to get cold! Thanks Poormans!
