The workers came in early and completed the job in one day. I had a great experience with the company. They cleaned up behind themselves and put everything back where it was supposed to be. I would recommend them to others as well.

Following Hurricane Ian and in need of a complete reroofing, even though they are about two hours away, I chose Pro Tek Roofing for several reasons. Fernando, the salesperson was very professional in his presentation and he was quick to respond to my questions in the following weeks as I was trying to decide which company to hire. One of his selling features that I liked was that a Project Manager would be onsite to oversee the work. Also, the quote was 10 – 20% below the other submissions and it did not have hidden clauses that could increase the cost. Also, the downpayment was 30% with full payment only once the work is completed.
I was told that there was a 3-4 week waiting period but, as the contract was signed just before the Christmas/NY holidays, it was 6 weeks before the work started. I needed to call the Pro Tek office several times to secure an installation date as I needed to schedule the removal of a hot water solar panel prior to the start of the reroofing. I obtained a start date and was guaranteed by Heather that it would take a maximum of two days.
On the first day of the work, the 8-person crew arrived at 07:00, affixed the work permit documentation on the front door and immediately commenced working, not letting me know what the plan was. This is possibly due to a presumed language barrier and it is contrary to the company checklist that states a “Mandatory Day 1 walk through”. The crew protected electrical equipment and plants around the house with tarps as well as the edge of the lanai and over the swimming pool. I told the crew leader (fortunately I speak Spanish) about the solar panel to ensure that the two pipe openings were not covered and to install two pipe fittings I provided them. This was well done.
Despite telling us that they would return in the morning, a different crew arrived after 2:00 pm and hence they did not finish the job even though they worked as darkness fell. I had noticed considerable damage to one plywood decking panel but as it had been covered with underlayment, the 2nd crew was not aware of the damage. Once I informed, Warren, the Project Manager promptly purchased two plywood sheets and the repair was done. The crew leader informed me that they would not be able to return the next day as they had a large job in the Tampa Bay area. On Monday, I called the office to find out when the work would be completed and Michelle told me that they would be sending a team on Thursday, one full week after the work started, which they did. Over the weekend I noticed that a different color had been used on the hips and when I spoke to Michelle she said matching replacement tiles would be ordered and replaced. Warren confirmed the issue took photos and told the office about the mix up. The replacement tiles certainly improved the aesthetics of the roof. Warren also took care of my concern as several nails were missing when the eaves troughing was replaced. The tarp covering the swimming pool had small holes in it so when it was removed following day 2, it took me over two hours to clean the deck as well as to sweep the bottom of the pool to remove asphalt particles.
The lack of communication between installers but especially with the client is the biggest issue that Pro Tek needs to improve if it wants to improve its rating. This was somewhat rectified by their Project Manager Warren who oversaw the work on the 2nd and 3rd days. He remained onsite to ensure a properly completed job.

We are happy with our new Carrier heat pump installed this year along with a new vent into the garage space.
This heat pump is more efficient with air and heat during the recent COLD weather. Thank you Pro Tech.

Protek came out to inspect my AC and install a new unit for me. They were on time and professional. I highly recommend!
