Never again.. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company. We hired them for a new install less than three years ago. The system started having issues last month and we called them out for service. Their tech lied to my wife and told her that a $900 part was necessary to repair the system. We reluctantly agreed after being told by this tech that service had to be completed through Scott's to maintain manufacturer warranties. We later found out from a second company that a blown capacitor was the culprit (only half of the issue to begin with) which is covered under the manufacturer's warranty. The "necessary" $900 part was a power surge kit that wasn't needed to fix the unit and only a labor warranty would require repair through them. The labor warranty expired last year.
The other undiagnosed half of the issue was a freon leak the first tech didn't find. He could have located it by looking down in the tub and observed the oil accumulation or hooked up his gauges but didn't. $900 later, the system worked for 5 days then started acting up again. Another call to Scott's and the second tech was much more helpful but was going to charge another $750 for the lost freon and to repair the copper he found damaged. I declined the repair and contacted another company. Company #2 came out and fixed the copper, refilled the freon, and located two more issues from the initial improper install at a fraction of the cost. Found out that the original install crew from Scott's didn't properly seal the handler which was allowing air to escape from the unit into the garage. They also failed to properly cut the return opening essentially choking my system down to a 60% return from where it should have been installed. Company #2 fixed all the issues and properly used the warranty. The only issue I have found since Company #2 repaired my system is my garage is no longer air conditioned but my house stays cooler, like it should have from the beginning.
Quick note for those still reading, Scott's techs are on performance pay and are commissioned for add on services. Almost all AC systems have a five year parts warranty. Goodman has a five to ten year parts warranty and the capacitor repair should have cost only labor at most.
I contacted Scott's main office and had all appointments and maintenance plans canceled. Hoping they would remedy the situation,, I requested that they remove the unnecessary $900 surge kit and refund our money. They have not. I was told they would contact me about this issue. They have not. They claimed to have canceled the maintenance plan but I was charged again after the cancelation so once again, they have not.
Scott's One Hour Air uses predatory practices with customers and their techs lie to get the additional income through unnecessary repairs and add-ons. This isn't the first incident I'm aware of when it comes to their treatment of customers being lied to and isn't going to be the last.
I'm done with Scott's One Hour Air. Save yourself time and money and find another company.

Woke up yesterday no heat, thermostat had no power.
Called early but no one available until today.
Technician arrived and quickly diagnosed and fixed the issue, Thermostat was bad.
I had purchased the 10 year parts and labor plan.
Sales person told me everything was included.
It's not
Only the air handler and compressor was covered (Just looked at the fine print and it does say only goodman parts covered). Make sure you read fine print.
On top of that after 2 years you need to pay a surcharge fee and a service fee. Salesman never mentioned that either. I really don't like being misled. I usually don't purchase extended warranties but he told me everything was covered.
No one ever mentioned anything about service fees after 2 years.
After my warranty is up, I will find another company
I think they were going to charge for a new thermostat, But I had the box and it said that it had a 5 year warranty, so he said they would replace it and file a claim with the thermostat company
