In 2019 I purchased the portable generator you see in pics. We never used it, and due to believing that it was "brand new", there was no reason for me to periodically turn it on to make sure it runs properly. Generator had all tags that said to make sure to put oil prior to starting it, and I never added any fluids in it.
This afternoon, setting stuff up to be ready for potential storm arriving, I took off the oil fill cap, and was getting ready to fill it up. I noticed the cap had a little oil by its gasket, but I could not see any oil inside the fill port. I though it was odd, however I filled it up to appropriate level. Next up, filling up the gas tank. After opening the cap, I was surprised to see there was some gas at bottom of tank. At this point I realized that this unit seems to have been a used one which was repackaged and sold as a "brand new" item. I got out of tank as much as possible from the fuel that was there. Poured approximately one gallon of fresh gas, Rec Fuel, in tank, and proceeded with the steps needed to start unit. After a lengthy period of trying, troubleshooting, and head scratching, I found out that there was no gas coming out of petcock into the hose that goes to carburetor. The lever moves normally from OFF to ON, however no gas comes out. After removing petcock off tank, attached you will see the condition the petcock was found. There was a sticky, caramelized-like substance throughout inside of petcock, which resembles what happens to old gas that stays stationary for extended periods of time. Rubber gaskets seemed to be old, likely due to being in contact with old gas for a long time. Seems as valve inside is stuck on OFF position, even though the lever moves normally. Attempted to clean it out, however I was unsuccessful.
You should be ashamed of selling something labeled as "brand new", when it is obvious it was used before, cleaned enough to make it look new, and sold to customers who believed in your company having honest business practices. I have no issue paying the price of an item that I need, long as I feel i can afford it and need it. However, I do have an issue with your store selling me a used item when what I paid for was a new item, and a new item is what I expected when I paid for it. Again, you should be ashamed.
I'm calling tomorrow to see if you have a petcock, hopefully a real brand new, brand new one!

I was called by Justin right after placing my first order. The items I ordered (shelving systems) were hard to reach out of the store’s stockroom & he called immediately after receiving my online order I placed to let me know that they wouldn’t be able to get them until Monday (I ordered Saturday morning). I told him I understand & that there was no problem in the ‘delay’. In fact, I told him I had decided to order another of the same shelving system (which I did) as soon as we got off the phone & I let him no again that there was no problem with my picking up the orders on Monday (or after if there was a problem). Point being is that Justin was courteous & used his knowledge & called the customer (me) immediately after realizing his problem. Justin is an asset to Northern Tool & hope to meet him when I do my pickup to thank him again & I wish him well !! Bill K

I used to be a big fan of this store. My recent trip was a bust. Much of what was normally stocked there was missing, and what was there was priced way to high. I went to Harbor Freight, which had everything I needed at reasonable prices (most on sale!). I didn't think that I'd ever be disappointed with Northern Tool...

Bought a pair of boots for nearly $200. Stated ripping after 2 weeks. Was told to come in and swap them out. Went in on a Saturday and they and refused honor what they said. Wasted my money and time.

This place is horrible to their employees when asked months in advance for days off for special events they are denied unless you are the managers family members who work here. So if you want a job must be related to them cause they denied my application due to my bf working even tho the manager is two of the employees father's. They only give up to 20 hrs if your lucky so if you need a full time job don't come here. Expensive, lack of knowledge form them, an items that you need fix come back more broken. Been dealing with them for a over a year an they are just unbelievable as a company.

Went here to purchase a stihl edger , they were one of the few locations that did have stock, Peter and another staff member were excellent .its what customer service is all about here... Explained everything there was to know about the unit and setting it up.
After using it the 1st time, seems to do the job well. Just takes a little getting used to it.
Being a retired contractor they carry some major brands of a lot of different equipment.

Great location with a very helpful and friendly staff.
Unlike many stores the people, at this location at least, treat you like they're genuinely glad to see you and help you find what you're looking for.
The only problem is I just went in for casters for a mobile lumber rack and ended up buying half the store it felt like due to all the good deals. 😅

Have shopped here a number of times, always had a good experience. I bought a bandsaw and it wound up having a bad motor but they quickly swapped out the whole thing and were very helpful. I’ve made several trips buying floor mats and every time at least one employee would ask if i wanted them to help me load them up, and not just the cashier, it would be the associates walking the floor too.
I’ve purchased a number of their Klutch brand items and they’ve been great, including the above mentioned bandsaw.
Prices are good on many items, I recommend checking the items on the northern tool website because sometimes there’s lower prices and they honor them in store.
Highly recommend shopping here when tools or equipment are needed.
