Ranger Air & Heat Inc.

This morning we woke to a minor flood...and an AC system gone awry. After immediate mopping up, we called for repair service. Ranger was referred from a co-worker who recently used Ranger with very high satisfaction. We were given a window about 6 hours later, and our techs Nelson and Damon arrived right in that time. Professional service at a reasonable price is what we've got and a few hours later, our home is cooling nicely.😁 We appreciate that Nelson did not try to upsell/add services; he just took care our our issue at a time we were super stressed out, and that was appreciated.

Because of the awesome service we received, our plan is to call back and enter into a service contract and also have Ranger replace our outdated thermostat. We feel confident that with their help, our 20 yr old system will have some more life left.

I chose Ranger Air and Heat to service my a/c based on their positive reviews and because they are veteran-owned. I had them out to do a bi-annual service on my a/c unit. The tech was very thorough and did a good job.

I mentioned to the tech that my air handler drip line regularly clogged due to microbial growth, requiring me to have to pour vinegar and clear the line with a shop vac every month or else the line would clog. After inspecting the line, the tech said he didn't like the PVC configuration coming out of the air handler and suggested some corrections that could improve the drainage. I agreed to the work, which included installing a new overflow switch and relocating it. The tech said to do nothing with the system moving forward and see if the drainage improved. Fast forward three weeks and I noticed water overflowing all around the air handler. The drip line had clogged and the overflow switch failed to shut off the system, causing water damage in my kitchen. They came back out and replaced the overflow switch.

When I expressed my exasperation with this, the owner offered to refund half of my service agreement fee and to part ways, which I agreed to. I soon after noticed that the new drip line was leaking water onto my garage floor. I called Able Air to come out and inspect the drip line. They said the PVC joints had not been glued, which allowed water to leak out. They glued the segments of PVC and solved the issue.

My takeaway:

While Ranger Air and Heat's mission may be "honor, respect, integrity," they lack in professional wisdom. In fact, virtually all the work and recommendations offered/done by Ranger Air and Heat turned out to be poisonous to my a/c unit and home. Others may have had a good experience with them, but that, unfortunately, was not my experience.

Ranger was a wonderful company to install a new unit. Jerry is a great guy, with a competitive price and best warranty of the four companies that were contacted for estimates. All of the employees were helpful, friendly, and very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend Ranger Air and Heat.

I left a message Ranger Air & Heat late on a Saturday when my A/C went out. They responded first thing Sunday morning with tips on what to check. After several messages back and forth I was able to diagnose the problem and fix it myself. Talk about excellent service! They were just happy to help and told me to enjoy my A/C. Next time I need help with my A/C I will definitely be calling Ranger Air & Heat. Thanks again!

I had a great experience with Ranger Air. My heater had stopped working and I had another company out to try to fix the problem. The service person told me that the part alone for the repair would be $500. Because my A/C and heating system are a bit of a mess (due to a bad installation job and poorly configured system), he didn't seem that keen on taking the job and encouraged me to invest in some space heaters because "it doesn't get cold in Florida that often."

I did some research and saw that Ranger Air had great reviews, so I called them. Nelson, the technician, was great. He was meticulous and fixed my problem. He explained what he did and patiently answered all of my questions. He gave me good advice on maintaining the system. He also charged me a very reasonable price for the repair — and I didn't need to purchase any overpriced parts. I highly recommend this company.

Ranger Jerry is a knowledgeable professional who will get in your attic and locate, close with, and destroy your HVAC issues. He was on time, appropriately dressed for a professional job, and surprisingly nimble. He says he could still complete The Jungle Rope Course at Ranger School and I believe him! Found some slime that I didn't and saved me a serious headache in the future. He could've let it slide and used it to make money in the future, but he is a class act and informed me of all the "tricks and trades of air and heat in Florida." He gave me a competitive invoice that he could have easily inflated, but since he found out I'm a Marine he took it easy on me because he knows I can't count. Ranger Jerry Leads The Way! I have been using Ranger Air and Heat for approximately three years now. We used them to install a new unit in our home, and then a min-split system in my office, as well as using them for regular maintenance, and AC unit replacements for properties that I manage.

They are always professional, and do a great job. I highly recommend them.

I had an issue with my heat not coming on. Jerry came over to take a look and very quickly identified that the recently installed thermostat which was installed by another company had not been set to active the heat portion of the heat pump. He was not only the owner and a veteran but extremely friendly and professional. I have since signed up for an annual service contract and Nelson who came by yesterday was equally friendly, professional and very informative on my system.

Came across Jerry and his team at Ranger Air & Heat through a recommendation and couldn't be more thankful. From start to finish, Jerry and his team have offered exceptional service and value. The team arrived promptly at 10am and made sure to keep my wife and I updated throughout the entire install. Jerry then personally came by the house the following day to ensure everything was still 100%. My house has never felt this comfortable! This business truly is built around integrity and honesty, as the name implies. They are not going to up-sell or rip you off. I got quotes from a couple of the other big-name AC business's in town and they were substantially more. 10/10 would recommend to a friend!

We just had Jerry come by to have a look at our air ducks for cleaning. He educated myself and my husband about how the air conditioning system works, seems to look out for that you may need duct cleaning for, and truly gave us a great experience. The time he took to explain to us that we did not need a service as of now was genuinely appreciated. Thank you for your service Jerry!
