I used their services to receive a quote and discussed choices for heat and A/C installation as the system I had was broken and old. I talked with Ben and he was extremely knowledgeable and professional.

I received a quote on the work within the day and when I accepted the terms he could fit me in that week. The furnace and A/C unit was completely replaced and finished within a day. I expect to use Highwood Mechanical for any HVAC service I would ever need.

Ben came out and assessed what would be required to replace the failing boiler in my 200+ year old house.
He clearly explained a few different options and there advantages and disadvantages in a clear concise way. His knowledge and experience was obvious. The 5 man team were all professional competent and respectful. They were highly organized and cleaned up completely when the job was done. Im pleased with the experience from start to finish!! Definitely would not hesitate to use them again and recommend them to anyone who ask!

I needed a boiler replacement in my hundred-year-old home, and Ben talked me through my options; answered all my questions; and communication throughout was great. Him and his team worked efficiently, and left no trace except for a beautifully installed new heating system. I'm a fan!

I highly recommend Ben Uscilla and his crew! I was calling every contractor in a bit of panic since my furnace stopped working and Ben was the only one who said we were his neighbors and that he would not let us go without heat. He pulled out all the stops to find us a new furnace that he personally installed for us within 5 hours!!! Highly professional, incredibly efficient and a very well run business. I cannot stop talking about what they did in the time constraint to help 'his neighbors'! If you are in Hamden, CT or nearby, make sure your first call is to Ben!

Highwood mechanical did a great job installing a new Bosch Heat pump that replaced an old AC only system . From quote to install this was a great experience. I had 5 Local HVAC guys in Hamden come out and give me quotes. Most contractors would complain about the space in the attic or complain about other general things that I would think were normal course of business when replacing a central AC system. Ben (owner) on the other hand made no fuss about what needed to get done, he listened to what I was looking for in a system, He explained to me the workings of heat pump systems which I was very interested in and in a way that I could understand, at no point did I feel like he was bothered by having to explain how things worked. I mentioned brands that other installers were offering and at no point bad mouthed them as many others did. When it came down to price Highwood was not the highest price and very competitive. What won him the job was that he went out of his way to find me exactly the system I wanted with a price that no one else could touch. He also included upgrades to my current system as I was keeping existing vents that would make the system more efficient (which everyone else overlooked). when it came to install Ben mentioned a 2 weeks start date but was able to come in 1week. The crew was very nice and kept everything very clean and vacuumed when they were done. I have had to deal with many contractors due to the tornado that ran through the neighborhood and have had some not so great experiences. I wish more contractors were like Ben and his team at Highwood.

Ben Ucilla gave us full information what to expect with heat pump installation. His crew is efficient, polite, knowledgeable and tidy. The estimate he gave us was accurate. An electrical glitch arose unrelated to the heat pump installation. He was attentive and stayed with us until the job was completed. The AC has been great.

Ben and his team came out to replace my old worn out HVAC system with new Trane equipment. Ben was quick to answer the phone, extremely knowledgeable and very pleasant to talk to. Ben and his team arrived on time and promptly got to work. They protected the floors in my home and any furniture they were working near. The whole team is very professional and kind. They even made sure my animals were in a safe place each time they entered and exited my home. When they were done, all the rooms were thoroughly vacuumed and cleaned up. Overall, I am thrilled with my new Hvac system and the job done by Highwood Mechanical.
