I chose Altitude based on the 5-star reviews on Google, but I now see reviews elsewhere that are more along the lines of my experience. They are friendly but disorganized at best. I got a price quote by phone to get a bypass humidifer installed, seemed fair. They had to reschedule once, then techs arrived more than an hour late, but no biggie since they had texted me to let me know their progress. They performed the installation, but the techs didn't know what to charge me. I gave them a check based on the quoted price, but they had no paperwork to offer - no written estimate, no receipt, no user's manual, no warranty... I called the office and was assured it would be sent immediately. After several days, the humidity in the home had not increased. After some back and forth by phone with both the office and the tech without progress, I had my father come over. He was able to do some troubleshooting to confirm there was water in the intake pipe but no water getting into the humidifier. We called the tech again, and with his guidance over the phone my dad identified and fixed what turned out to be mis-wiring. The tech apologized that he had not actually confirmed the unit was functioning after install. I still do not have any paperwork after 3 weeks and 2 calls with the office manager assuring me she will send it soon. So my review is lukewarm thus far - I am not eager to entrust this company with future projects (which is too bad, as my furnace, water heater, and air conditioner are all of advanced age).
I called several companies this morning after my furnace died and Altitude was the only one who promised to get someone to my house today. Robin put me on standby and James got to me much earlier than I expected.
I see why so many people write good reviews about James (and Altitude) as its very obvious he takes his job seriously. I was very happy with the service I got and I'd definitely recommend them for any heating and air repairs.
I must have seemed like the special needs customer from hell when I spoke to the receptionist. I needed my air conditioning repaired asap but my work schedule is crazy and I can't usually get home until late. Chris my technician was very understanding and he was professional and friendly at the same time when he got to my house. I appreciated the fact that he was straightforward about what needed to be done and what it would cost. Very easy company to deal with.
A+ service that didn't cost an arm and a leg. Spoke with Chris on the phone and he had a technician at our house in 2 hours. Id been told by another company that i needed to replace our air conditioner but Dave found the problem was something that had been missed and could easily be fixed. He had the ac unit repaired in about an hour and then stuck to monitor its performance to make sure all was good. Nice to have found a air conditioning company I know I can trust.
We had our new furnace and air conditioner installed by Altitude last week, and have nothing but good things to say about our experience.
We met with 4 other HVAC companies, and Altitude was the only one that didn't try to sell us one of their most expensive systems. They took the time to find out what we really needed, and to explain things to us in a way that made sense. They're also the only company that offered us a money back guarantee in writing, so we felt like we could be confident they would do a good job and so far they definitely have.
The installers were very patient and thorough in making sure we understood how everything worked, and we appreciated the follow-up from the company after our system was installed. We've been very pleased and impressed with their service from start to finish.
I leave early for work so Amy offered to send a technician to my house at 6am so I wouldn’t be late for work. My technician was Camden and I can’t say enough good things about him. So friendly and walked me through what he was doing the whole time.
I’ve never had such awesome customer service from any other heating and air company I’ve called in the past. I will absolutely use Altitude any time I need help from now on.
Chris from Altitude came out to fix a problem with our air conditioner. The receptionist sent us an email with his profile and picture when we scheduled the appointment, which I thought was great. Chris was very professional, and explained what he was doing and what the problem was very thoroughly. I appreciated the follow up call from the office the next day as well. I've heard Altitude was a little more expensive than some other heating and air companies, but it's obvious the people at Altitude really care about customer service.
Dave did a great job I needed my furnace repaired asap but it was Labor Day and every heating repair company I called was either closed or wanted to charge a fortune for the service call. Altitude's holiday service charge was reasonable so I scheduled to have Dave come fix the furnace. He is sooo nice and he was very thorough in finding the problem with the furnace. I wish it hasn't broken down on Labor Day but all in all I was very happy with the service from Altitude.
This is the first negative review of a company I have ever written, but feel like my experience needs to be shared. I had an appointment set with Altitude from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm for a furnace that broke in the middle of a stretch of sub-freezing days. With an infant at home, I was happy to have their services at hand. By 1:00 pm, no one had showed, so I called and left a message. Finally at 2:00 pm they responded, saying their phone system had been down and they couldn't reach one of their technicians, but they would send another one my way, promising to call back in just a few minutes. 15 minutes passed and no call. I called them back and no one picked up. Another 15 minutes and the same thing, then another 15 minutes and the same again.
It was nearing 3:00 pm when I realized they had abandoned me and that I had wasted a day of leave from work with nothing to show but a broken furnace and a house that was going to be too cold for our family. Still I gave them the benefit of the doubt, but when 5:00 pm rolled around with no word, I called to let them know I was respectfully frustrated and gave them the opportunity to reach out to at least calm the waters. They didn't. To think that they had such little respect for the basic needs of a client tells me everything I need to know and I would advise anyone to find a different company.
I am extremely happy with the customer service I received from the entire staff at Altitude. I called late evening and actually spoke to a human. I was scheduled immediately for repair service for my A/C unit. When technician came out he was on time knowledgeable and very organized. I will only use this company for any future needs and recommend to all if you want quality service.
