After ho-hum service call &way overpriced repair estimate from another company(unit was out of warranty) I did web browsing, found American cooling< & talked to Scott, after reading all the reviews(excellent, by the way) I decided to buy a new Trane unit to replace, instead of the costly repair quoted from other co..scott treated me very well, with respect, which to me, is very important. His quote for the new unit was quite a large savings over the other company’s quote, &was just over double what I was quoted for the repair of the old unit. They were out the next morning before the 8am scheduled time, had the old unit off the roof, & the new one in place & running in less than 2 1/2 hours. The installers were quick, courteous, & knew exactly what they were doing. The 10 yr. parts, & 3 yr. labor warranty they offered is a great plus
4 visits by 3 different techs with another company, still 85-90 deg. in the house. They came to same conclusion. 8 year old trane combo pack Time for a new heatpump. 6800$ Called them for 2nd opinion and possible cost on a new install. No let's fix what's actually wrong, replace the txv valve. They came out after 5pm diagnosed in less than an hour for free. Then came back and fixed it in under 2 1/2 hours. All this after 3 weeks of misery and worry and paying 800$ for ignorance. Scott, Dave and Austin are my heroes. And when it actually is time to replace the unit I will call them. This is a company that you can trust and depend on.
I am forever grateful to Scot, Shaun, Paul, and American Cooling & Heating for the professional job they did in reinstalling my 1 year old Trane AC/Furnace unit. After learning that the owner of Higginbotham & Son lost his license, I was free to get out from under that company and turn to American for help. Shaun worked for over 4 hours in my very hot attic in order to install the unit correctly and get everything up to code, where it should have been a year ago. Since Higginbotham failed to put the second exterior pan in place, water was coming down from the ceiling in the master bedroom onto the bed. That was taken care of by Shaun and I now have any overflow or backup going to the exterior of my house rather than the interior. Paul came yesterday and did a beautiful job repairing and painting my damaged ceiling. Thank you American Cooling and Heating! I am very grateful to be your customer!
Had XR13 hp installed and only lasted for seven years until the compressor died. Sad part of this is that I only use this system for cooling during the summer I heat with a gas heater in the heating months. Trane advertises a 10 year compressor warranty but when you call to have it replaced they tell you the warranty is for five years. This Trane system is the third heat pump I had installed in my properties and is the newest. Trane is making their systems cheaper and not worth the extra money for all the longer they last. There are other systems about 40% less in cost that will outlast these units. I will be switching over to another brand and when the other units fail they will be replaced with another brand as well. Very poor customer service as well!
I had several other companies and technicians come out and they replaced parts etc- but my A/C worked the same- blowing semi-cold air. I called Scot- he came out the next day with a tech and immediately noticed the air temp and solved the problem quickly. My sincere appreciation to his professional job-well done!

I came home to a situation which involved an elderly lady, 2 dogs and almost 100 degree temperatures in my home. I called several A/C repair people who told me they could not get out to service us until the next day. I was panicked. My elderly mother in-law looked like a fish out of water.
I called American Cooling and Heating. The gentleman who answered the phone was so awesome! He told me they could get someone out to us IMMEDIATELY. He wasn't kidding. Our home is in a weird, caddywampus neighborhood that is very difficult to find as our home is behind security gates. Our guy Tim showed up within 10-15 minutes. Did I mention this was a Monday night, at about 6:30 p.m.? No questions asked, our guy showed up. And he WAS AWESOME!!!
Tim had our equipment replaced and/or fixed within 30 minutes. He was so genuine, honest and super cool to work with. Look, I am a chick who knows nothing about air conditioning parts. Or AC units in general. This guy took the time to explain things to us. Did I mention he is really good looking too? Ladies! I'm just saying! ;)
Here is the kicker part to their service. Our home warranty company refused to cover the repair due to us "not contacting them"... (this is a whole other yelp story in which I will write about that lousy company.) My landlord turned into an ass and said due to the warranty company not covering it, she was not paying for it either. Neither here nor there, this was not American's problem. I called and spoke with the gentlemen I originally spoke with on Monday, in a panic. I did not want them to think we wrote a bum check (which, at that point, it would have been as we thought between the warranty and our land lord, we would be covered). Do you know what the fantastic people at American did? They allowed us to deliver a new check! You have no idea what this meant to us. It was a big chunk of cash we didn't have on hand (not that it wasn't worth every penny).
There are VERY FEW companies with integrity and true customer service any more. American is for sure one of them. I am so grateful for their repair service, their quick and swift ability to offer it, their customer service, and more importantly, their human kindness and willingness to work with us. I will always and forever be thankful and grateful to Scott, Tim and the American Crew. And I am asking they mail me more business cards so I can hand them out to any and all who need air conditioning service. I don't know if they have a social media website, I haven't checked it out yet. But if they don't, I am going to offer my services to set one up for them and man it myself.
THANK YOU AMERICAN. From the bottom of my heart. You saved us from what could have been a life threatening situation to my elderly mother in law, and my two fur babies. I will forever be indebted and so grateful for your awesome services, and your incredible kindness.
The compressor unit fan died at 6pm during the recent August hot spell. Tim came out at 9pm and replaced it. We were up and running within an hour. Tim called twice the next day to see how we were doing. No other company has ever done that. Its and older unit and struggled when the temp on our back patio was 120. He came out again two days later to recheck the unit, free of charge. If you call anyone, and we've had several different companies service our AC during our 35 years in the Valley, have Tim from American Cooling and Heating come out.
It is a delight to conduct business with a company that holds the customer's neefs high and is not out to gouge them. We appreciate their patience in carefully explaining all of our options in replacing our A/C. The installation was professional and thorough. You will be our first call for future needs.
Dave was here within an hour of our phone call. He was very kind and professional. We had a salon full of clients and he got the AC back on quickly. Very impressed. Will definitely use American again in the future! Thx for keeping us cool!
My air stopped working right after we put our toddler to bed. I searched online for after hours AC repair and this company came up. I called, expecting to get an answering service or voicemail but I got someone who answered right away. The guy who answered said he would have someone out soon and I was expecting 1-2 hours. NOPE, the technician showed up in less than 30 minutes, did some troubleshooting, found the issue, and fixed it quickly. This company had someone out, fixed the issue, and I had cold air all within an hour and a half of calling them. AMAZING!!!
