I own a water treatment company and see the best and worst plumbing work in the Matsu Valley. Throughout all my assessments there is one plumbing company I have found to have consistently excellent workmanship and happy customers, and that is Goldstar Plumbing. I trust and respect their company well enough to refer all our customers them for their plumbing needs.

If I could give them less than zero stars I would. Please save yourself the trouble and find a different plumbing company to work with.
My on demand hot water heater died and I called Meadow Lakes because they were a certified rep for my brand. It seemed good at first, they came out the day after I called to look at the unit and take pictures, certifying that it was indeed dead and needed to be replaced, not repaired. They called Rinnai that made heater to see if a warranty would cover any of it, and that's where the nightmare began. For three weeks I played the middle man between Meadow Lakes and the heater company. Neither had any clue what the other was doing, and I just wanted hot water again. I would call the heater company and they would say they were waiting on Meadow Lakes, I called Meadow Lakes and they said they were waiting on Rinnai. Back and forth, Rinnai wanted pictures, I would send more pictures (not Meadow Lakes), Meadow Lakes would take days calling Rinnai so I would call to try and speed things along.
Then after 2 1/2 weeks I got a notice from Rinnai that they had shipped something out. When I called they said it was parts for repair except I didn't want a repair because I watched my Rinnai heater spark and have a small explosion. So I called Meadow Lakes and they assured me that Rinnai was wrong and that they were sending the whole unit. 3 days later the parts arrived and it was just that. No new unit. So once again I called Rinnai and didn't get off the phone until they agreed to give me a discount on buying a new unit, which I wished they would have done at the beginning.
By now though I'm so tired of Meadow Lakes Plumbing that I called and fired them. I went and picked up the parts that Rinnai had shipped them and because Meadow Lakes wouldn't ship them back I had to pay $95 to ship them back, but whatever I'm done with them at that point. I called Paragon Mechanical and they came out two days later and did a fantastic job installing the new unit that was rushed shipped to me. I took a shower, a deep breath, and tried to put it all behind me.
2 weeks later Meadow Lakes called to ask me how my experience was (really?) and notify me that I had an outstanding bill of $85 I needed to pay for when their technician initially came out. I called them right back and said that I thought they should waive the bill seeing as how I had to do their job for them communicating with Rinnai AND had to ship the unwanted parts back at my own expense. They politely said they would "see what they could do" and then never called back. Next week I got another call saying the bill was still due as if the previous conversation never happened. So were back on this merry go round, and 4-5 calls later they let me know that although they keep saying they'll see what they can do, they're going to send me to collections! I demand to speak with a manager and finally 2 days later I get a call from one who absolutely refuses to waive the bill because Meadow Lakes never explicitly asked for the parts either, so that wasn't their problem, and because they worked so hard calling Rinnai.
Here's the bottom line: This company will absolutely screw you over and then charge you for it because their reputation and taking care of customers is absolutely their last priority. Steer clear!

I'm not a plumber but have spent plenty of time asking very rudimentary questions of their employees during several self help projects.. I have always been treated very well regardless of the number of stupid question I asked. I have had their technicians out to my house and have always been happy with the work performed. Getting ready to call them again for another project.

I will never call this place every again it was a scam. First of all they will find any way to make money off of you. The day of inspection was supposed to be an hour but they charge me for 1hr and a half. Second is I had to paid extra for Special delivery for parts. Third wanted me to paid double an hour when they install Because of after hrs when my Schedule time was 2 PM. 4 they know you are on the list for no heat and will try to scam more there. 5 day of repair everything was good too good heat was running now but now it too hot and heat will not shut off “they hot wire heat to stay on always”because of course when you call them back it more money. Scam Scam Scam.

Needed Koehler flush valve gaskets. They are over 3.5” and generic toil valves won’t fit. {Don’t Buy Koehler!!!} The former USMC man helped me significantly. He had good follow through even though they didn’t have what I needed. He took my name and called me back after he did quite a bit of homework. Found the needed kit in Anchorage! Would have preferred to buy in the Valley.

I am very slow to leave negative reviews, I know that owing a small business can be difficult and everyone makes mistakes. But I am seriously disappointed in the customer service of this company and would like to warn others before they waste their time. I had the owner (Larry) come over almost a month 1/2 ago to access our heating situation. He took our inventory down and said that he would order the parts we needed and get back to me ASAP to fix our issue so that we would have heat. I never heard back. Called EIGHT times and talked to a different people including the wife and the estimator (Mark) and a RUDE receptionist who said they would get back to me and never did. Now it's almost December, we have no heat in half of our house, and I am at my wits end. Today, after leaving several firm messages, I received a call back saying that they couldn't help me for another month or two. Horrible service for a heating company in Alaska.

Helped me out by having my water heater part in stock. Threw on some Teflon tape for me and I was able to get it going again on a Saturday afternoon. I drove in from Talkeetna and I’m very pleased with the experience.

was a customer for years ..one of their employees presented himself as someone who knew plumbing, came to my home and set septic at 8 inch per 10 ft. and brought wrong sink, stole from me and didnt finish the job. do not trust anyone there without a license to do any work. or keep their word.

Go elsewhere to save time, trips, restock fees, + unnecessary labor.
Mgr, GLEN lacks cust service, patience, and prefers yelling on phone. He gets frustrated that u choose to replace the broken part instead of doing WHOLE. REPLACEMENT.
Glen will continue to lose customers w that attitude.
Joke: After my 3rd trip of wrong part, employee conveyed tone of annoyance that my "landlord" came w need of "same" picture". (Yet I dont have a "landlord" nor shared my picture.) They never got idea that multiple customers have same need.
Too bad that customer guy was likely told WHOLE REPLACMENT NEEDED, too.
As if the part is no longer available.
Ak Goldstar local competitor provided friendly service with a smile. Since they dont carry the part, they helped me find it out of state. I shook his hand!
I had used AK Goldstar since 2001.
Never again.
