Excellent service, tech went above and beyond to fix our 90 year old boiler. Very knowledgeable and resourceful, he found the needed part that was in West Virginia and got it here fast knowing our house was getting colder by the hour. Exceeded our expectations, very fairly priced as well. Even sent us a follow up text just to make sure that we were comfortable. Also advised us on how improve our existing system. Highly recommended.

Willie, the owner, is amazing. He is extrememly detail oriented and takes pride in his work. He went above and beyond in our situation to make sure the job got done right. He is an excellent communicator. We had an issue with our heater and he was at our house within 2 hours to fix it.

I learned more about home heating in a short conversation with Willie than I've absorbed over more than four decades as a homeowner. He did an incredibly thorough cleaning/tuneup of my Carrier furnace. (I have never had a furnace tech come in with a shop vac before!) He also cleaned out my gas fireplace, which runs noticeably hotter and brighter now. I would recommend Hvacr absolutely without reservation.

Our experience for the last 3 times has been excellent- the quick response, thorough cleaning, repaired the furnace and created a tighter seal to increase efficiency. We even found extra silver duct tape so we ours use it when we replaced the air filter the next time. He shared how to wrap the duct work and provided low cost options. Very impressive and always super friendly . We highly recommend using this company!

Willy made a emergency house call with a remarkable response time of minutes. I explained the problems in the bathroom. He talked through what the problem actually was and offered a solution. Very professional to say the least. Long story short, problem solved for a reasonable rate. I recommend Gold Star to my neighbors. I will call again. *****

The contractor was very unprofessional. He yelled and swore at me on the phone, during a conversation about the timelines for the furnace equipment order. He did not have a clear understanding of the process between American Home Shield and himself, and repeatedly pointed blame at AHS saying that I was "their customer, not his" and therefore all concerns and questions should go to AHS. (I had an explicit conversation with AHS where they assured me that is NOT the process) The conversation got so bad, that I had to hang up. Being in customer service myself, I tried very hard to have a rational conversation with him. After I calmly told him his customer service skills - his demeanor and his tone, his swearing, were unacceptable, he became belligerent. After this conversation, he completely cancelled the entire service request with no communication to me. After 2 weeks of Wisconsin winter, I'm STILL without a furnace, and am now going through the entire process again with AHS and a new contractor they've assigned.
I would not recommend this contractor, nor would I feel comfortable with anyone who manages their emotions so poorly being in my home, as I would be afraid they might become violent if I said something they didn't like. Unacceptable behavior from a business owner who wants to stay in business. There is literally no excuse for yelling and swearing at someone you're providing a service for.

p.s. reading the other reviews, looks like this is a pattern for Willie Mallard.

Willie knows his way around all components of a furnace and does a through job. He goes above and beyond by fixing things that are outside the scope of what he was contracted for like caulking leaky ducts. He has helped me out on a number of occasions.

Gold Star Willy Mallard was very prompt with his work response. He worked very efficiently and thoroughly, and explained what he was replacing before doing so. He cleaned up the work area, leaving the space as he found it. I highly recommend him.
