They were professional and super knowledgeable about my system. Jordan walked me through my new system controls and took the time to answer all of my questions. They are now my go-to company for my HVAC needs!
Dana was a Rock Star who went the extra mile to try and get a technician to my home when my oil furnace failed. Dan, THE Man, was my technician... 30 yrs oil furnace field experience in Kitsap County. If Dan can't fix it, nobody can! In less than 20 minutes, Dan had my system back up and running... with a cautionary, "You might want to start considering a new system in the near future." Well, leave that to Nathan... who'd been out just the day before to evaluate, advise, and work up an estimate for me.
If you're looking for friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and reliable... you've found your people with Penninsula Heating and Cooling!
I contacted 5 or 6 companies that lease propane tanks. Peninsula heating and cooling was the only company that had a dolly to move the tank behind my house, which made it much less expensive to have installed due to shorter trenching/piping. They came at the appointment time and did a neat tidy install. I am not sure why the other companies don't buy a dolly to move bigger tanks like the 500 gallon one we had installed, as I doubt they cost much over $500.
We found Peninsula Heating in the Puget Sound Consumer Checkbook. Ratings for heating and cooling varied widely, but they had a 100% rating for "Superior Service''. Ben Lundahl, the technician showed up the same day we called. I didn't expect that. It took some doing, but the final diagnosis was that the control board was bad. Being that the furnace was 25 years old, I was told a new board may now be available. Asked for a rough estimate on how much a new gas furnace would cost and was told 2-3 grand. Wow! Not wanting to go there, extensive research was done until the right board was found — in Canada. The board being an updated model, was not just a matter of just switching some wires. Some had to be merged with screw-caps, others had to be extended, and a couple were not even explicit in the directions. Like a surgeon, Ben made all the connections, double checked his work... and finally... the test. Worked perfectly! Good as new! A less than honest technician would have done a poor job with the upgrade, and then sold us a new furnace. Kudos to Ben Lundahl and Peninsula Heating! That's how they got that 100% rating.
I recently had Peninsula Heat diagnose and fix a pesky problem with the air handler on my heat pump. Everyone I talked to from the office mgr to the tech ‘Jay’ was top notch. The problems were found in no time and Jay told me what he was doing and showed me the problem (loose wire and a bad relay) AAA+++ service and communication. I will use them again. Call them, you will not be disappointed.
Called PH&C with request for service; my boiler would not fire. Dan was at my shop within 2 hours, repaired and serviced my boiler and was finished before noon. Great service and a very reasonable price. Thank you Dan and PH&C.
We had an oil tank leaning perilously close to the edge of it's supports. Jeremy and Dan came out and pumped out the fuel, replaced the supports, installed a new , better filter, and installed a gauge. It was fun watching them work. They were obviously used to working together and it was obvious they knew what they were doing. We will use Peninsula heating from now on. Great job guys. Thank you!
Company charged me a diagnostic fee for a diagnostic i already made myself. In my first phone call to them I told them exactly what the problem is, what part I need, and my unit model. They still slapped a diagnostic fee on top of that because it was a company policy. It is not about the money at all, they could have hid it in the invoice and I would have paid it without a flinch. It is just sleazy to tack on fees where there is no need for them. Imagine if a you go to furniture store to buy a specific sofa they have and they charge you a interior designer fee on top of the sofa's price and delivery. That is the kind of company this is.
The work they did was good. No complaints on that.
I cant speak to the quality of their work because they never even showed up. Scheduled my yearly maintenance 2 weeks in advance. Told me they would be here between 10 and 2. I waited until 3:30 rolled around before finally calling only to be told they weren't coming because the tech got held up on a big job. I guess stuff happens but the lack of communication was completely unprofessional and inconvenient. I was stuck at home all day waiting around on my one day off for nothing. The guy I spoke with had zero compassion. If anything he was defensive and rude. I received no apology, no discount offer for the inconvenience, nothing. He only offered to reschedule. Yeah no thanks. Ended up going with advance heating and cooling (which was a nightmare. Would NOT recommend them either). Why is it so hard for these companies to show up and show up when they say they will and communicate with you if anything changes?
When my Amana furnace stopped working in October, Ben and Gillie were quickly able to identify a bad pressure switch and rig up a temporary fix so that I had heat while we waited for the replacement part to come in. The ladies in the office were professional and friendly and were able to get my replacement part under warranty. Thank you!
