Nuckols Plumbing, Heating & Cooling

This is one of the best experiences I've had with a home improvement service. The job was completed in a timely manner, David was courteous, professional and explained the job to me. I choose Nuckols Plumbing because of the rave reviews I read, and I totally agree with them. I would not hesitate to use them again or refer them.

Absolutely horrible customer service. Techs were great, informative and polite. Office manager/dispatcher was completely unreasonable and unprofessional. I ordered a faucet installation and within 30 seconds, literally, of the tech seeing my sink and the faucet I purchased he informed me it wouldn’t work because of an issue with a plug. That’s it, no work was done at all, he looked at the sink, glanced over at the faucet on the counter and then made his statement. When I asked if I could just reschedule for the following day so that I could go purchase the correct type faucet to work in my sink he said no problem he just had to call in and have the appointment moved. At that point he was told I would be charged $80 for the 30 seconds he spent to say “that faucets not gonna work.”
And that I could reschedule for the following day and I would be charged another $80 for the service call.
It was when the technician said “are you kidding me, you’re gonna charge him for that? Yeah I’ll explain but I guarantee he’s gonna cancel the install for tomorrow.” that I knew I was dealing with complete unprofessionals. I thanked the techs for the info, paid my bill and told them as long as I live in Richmond I will go out of my way to let anyone who will listen know what a horrible company this is. The technicians responded with “trust us, you won’t be the first.”

Tommy is the man!!!! We have been working on a bathroom remodel over the last year (slowly on our end) and Tommy has worked with us to schedule everything from rough in plumbing, to installing a 400 lb cast iron tub that took 4 guys to get upstairs and in our bathroom, to our double vanity, sink, toilet, and shower. He is knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely a pleasure to work with. We have had some terrible experiences with other contractors during this major renovation and never had to worry about Tommy, David, or anyone else from the Nuckols crew. We would happily work with them again and will be recommending them to all of our friends in the area.

Jamie L was a pleasure to have assist with my garbage disposal issue. He had great conversation, worked well around multiple distractions and explained every step he took to fix my issue. You guys have a great, caring, knowledgeable employee. Thank you Jamie L.!!

We discovered a water leak under our house about 11 p.m. Saturday night. I turned off the water at the meter and called Nuckols. An employee was at our house first thing Sunday morning. He diagnosed and fixed the problem quickly. He was both technically proficient and a nice, courteous person. Our thanks to Nuckols for a job well done.

I'm a little suspect of companies with so many 5-star reviews but these were right on - 100% will use again. Unfortunately they weren't able to come out Friday due to the tech calling in sick but came out on time on Tuesday, and sent text messages with tracking - great communication. The tech was knowledgeable and very nice, as were the folks in the office I emailed and called. They'll email a copy of the invoice for payment online and a copy of the paid invoice. Very happy with my choice of plumbers.

We were in a 911 situation as we just sold our home and are closing next week. There was a leak coming from our master shower that was not detected until after the home inspection. We wanted to be sure it was properly repaired for the new homeowners and were limited on time. Shon Nuckols, the owner, had a technician out here right away. Dave was our tech. He was fantastic. We will be loyal customers for life!

Nuckols did a great job explaining our water heating system - it had some non-traditional components and a home-made solar heating system involved. Ken was able to explain how we can maintain the system, what to plan for, and what each pipe and lever did. Our biggest issue was not understanding how our system worked. I highly recommend Nuckols to anyone who needs plumbing, gas, or water heating help. Patient, clear communication, shows up right on time, and doesn't overcharge.

My experience with Nuckols was top notch from the beginning. They handled my calls and questions efficiently and politely and were able to complete my job within a few days and at a reasonable price. They will definitely be my go to plumbers from now on.

After having a bad experience with another company I tried Nuckols off of a friends referral. I can't say enough good stuff about these guys. When I called, I spoke with one of the owners who was very knowledgeable and came right out to look at my problem and then fixed it. I love the small family feel about the company and have found them to be totally trust worthy. I will definitely recommend them to all of my friends and family.
