Scheduled to come out between 12-5. No call, no show. Extremely disappointed and inconsiderate, especially having to take time out of my day to accommodate & coordinate.

Hope your luck is better than mine, but take note.

Additionally, it's interesting that there's little to no response to negative reviews regarding no call, no shows. Unprofessional.

Tech called 1:50 later than the scheduled time.

Worst. Service. Ever. It took them over 2 months to install. Then when they put the new system in it stopped working. Two companies came out and in their words they said it was the sloppiest install they'd ever seen and that it looked like preschoolers installed it. They also said the install wouldn't pass a home inspection if we tried to sell our house.Terrible customer service too. Felt bad for install tech. He had to do it by himself whereas the new company had 2 to 3 guys installing. Zero stars if possible.

I called Whitlow for a broken water line from the meter to the house. The line was very close to a 20 year old maple tree. The moved the line to minimize the damage to the tree. Price was better than I expected and the service exceptional. The workers were very courteous and clean up after the job well. I recommend them for your plumbing work

Ronnie and Lee run a great business on all their services! I had them replace a HVAC system in my home that broke after another contractor put in just 5 years prior when it died because the prior company put in too small of a tonnage unit to come in as the cheapest bid. JF Whitlow quoted and installed the correct size for less than the prior lower tonnage unit. They’ve serviced my other unit that is original and now 31 years old!!! They’ve converted TWO of my fireplaces to gas with no problems and plumbed bathroom remodels in my house. My Mom has used them for 40+years and knows head service Tech Tony as the most considerate home repair tech to ever have worked at her house. 0 problems ever. You guys get an A+ grade!!! Fair prices, solid service and trustworthy folks.

Our home warranty company sent this contractor to our home because our air conditioning was not cooling. First visit the tech tells us there is a leak but rather than find it he fills the unit with Freon and a substance to block the hole.

In about two weeks the air conditioning is again not cooling and is tripping the circuit breaker. Tech says this time it is an electrical issue so we pay an electrician to replace the circuit breaker.

After one week the unit is again not cooling the house. My husband goes to the circuit box to see if the breaker is off which he wasn’t. He turned it off and back on and heard a loud pop from the compressor outside. So again this contractor sends out a tech who tells us the compressor is dead but informs our warranty company it is because of an “external power surge”.

When I called the office the manager tells me the tech said my husband said he heard a loud pop and then went to investigate, Incorrect I try to tell her. This was NOT the sequence of events. But every time I tried to talk this person who is supposed to be the manager would cut me off and tell me she was sick and tired of dealing with us. Finally I asked for a copy of the invoice sent to the warranty company with full details of the diagnosis of the problem. She refused to send me ANY information at all and proceeded to hang up on me.

Only a crazy person would do business with a company so incompetent and rude.

Excellent service! Very respectful, professional and knowledgeable technicians. Explained, in detail, issues I was having, all of the possible solutions and didn't try to rob me with pricing. I will never again call anyone else for my HVAC or plumbing needs!

This company has an amazing team from the office staff to the well trained technicians. Christian, Lee & Justin have each been to my home & have an A+ rating in my book! They were on time, courteous & their work was EXCEPTIONAL!! Not only did they educate me in the process but also took care of little details that most technicians would leave for the homeowner. When the entire sewer system backed up in the evening, I searched the web for our area and found J F Whitlow Jr. & Sons. I placed a message o the system and was called back promptly. They offered to come right away, but we were able to stay with our daughter and scheduled them for the next day. When they appeared (on schedule), the work was done efficiently and professionally. The system was cleaned and checked thoroughly. The amount charged for the amount of time spent on our problem was excellent for this level of work. I would recommend this firm for any of your plumbing needs in the Tidewater area. (by the way, our last names are the same, but we are not related).

We had a 27 year old water (shocking) that finally gave out and started leaking last week. Our warranty company wouldn’t cover the repair to the water heater so we contacted 2 other plumbers whose prices were RIDICULOUSLY high and they kept telling us that we would have to tear down our walls before they would fix our water heater!!! Finally we contacted JF Whitlow who came out and gave us a very reasonable price and we didn’t have to tear any walls down in to it. The plumber Christian A. was very knowledgeable and worked very hard to get our hot water back. Whenever I need a plumber in the future it will be JF Whitlow I’m calling. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!! A+ company.

We have done business with JF Whitlow for almost 20 years. Last year at Christmas a tech came out in 20 weather and 3 feet of snow to our heat on. Just too weeks ago the same Tech diagnosed our ac not working, he didn't have too but he came back on his day off to fix it. Thanks Tony your the best.
