    I bought my first house recently. Unfortunately it came with a nonopperable AC unit that was 20 years old. I called Micheal & Son back in February to get it fixed so I can get ahead of the summer rush. They booked me the next day at a time convenient to my schedule and showed up on time with no wait! The technician Vinnie was clean and professional. After diagnosing what was wrong with my system, he explained it in terms I could understand and let me know I would need a new system. That same day the Hampton manager Curry personally came to my house to do the estimate on my system and climbed into my 20 degree attic to evaluate the situation. He let me know I would need a new system as soon as possible and gave me finance options so I wouldnt have to pay for it all upfront!!! I cant thank them enough for how timely and proffesional they all were. I now only recommend Michael & Son to my friends, family, and co-workers! It is now June and my AC unit is running strong on these 100 degree days , and this is coming from a person who keeps their home like Antarctica!

    Okay there is no better way to critique a company than if they warranty their product/service. Today I had a technician come to investigate why the power went out in the room I had trouble in last August. See my review in August for more details. The tech came looked at the issue and solved it in minutes. They covered the work at no cost to me. I must say it is exceptional service and customer care that Orion J provided.

    Just FYI folks, my HVAC is only 6 1/2 years old, installed mid Dec 2015.

    May 22, 2022:
    Michael & Son offers the Gold & Silver plans, (I've had both), but these plans do not offer you reasonable emergency service. Having service provided 3 days from the date you call them is terrible, especially when you've already paid to have priority service.

    This is the second time I've had to call another company to "look into" an emergency issue for something that Michael and Son installed,

    Michael & Son, DO BETTER.

    UPDATE JUNE 1, 2022:
    The longer that I'm a customer with Michael & Son, the poorer the service has been getting. 10 days after I call Michael & Son to fix my HVAC and the day they are supposed to come, they call and tell me that the part they currently have to fix my unit is defective.

    So, no fix for my HVAC and I have to wait another week June, 8, 2022. The technician provided a small window unit to put in a room. It has been hot, so my family piles into this one room upstairs for some cool air.

    UPDATE JUNE 8, 2022:
    I am beyond furious. It has been over two weeks, 16 days without having my AC fixed.

    Just got a call from the technician to tell me yet again that he cannot install the part needed to fix my HVAC because the part ordered had not arrived yet.

    This is absolutely ridiculous!!!

    The technician provided another small window unit to put in a room. Because my family and I have been roasting.

    UPDATE JUNE 9,2022
    I don't even have words, well yes I do. The pain of dealing with Michael & Son is real & continues.

    My appointment was scheduled for today 12pm - 2pm the technician arrived after 5pm and said the part needed still hadn't arrived.

    So, 17 days with no HVAC.

    UPDATE JUNE 14, 2022

    This is day 23 of not having AC. They finally fixed it. This is not a reasonable amount of time to have to wait for service.

    For a customer whos pays for priority service, it's even more appalling.

    I thank the technician for trying his best to help my family and I to feel as comfortable as possible while we waited over 3 weeks to get our HVAC fixed. He provided the AC window units. The 2 star rating is for him.

    I have never used this company but I can tell you this, A very good lady friend of mine was persuaded by Michael & Son to install a brand new furnace even though her current furnace at the time was only 6 years old. They also added duct work to her HVAC unit, and in return it has never functioned correctly ever since, and even though literally 15 employees have been out to resolve the problem, not including several supervisors, not only did they NOT fix the problem they created, after 4 years they finally stated, "You should have chose another company, ultimately it was your decision!" I made this company a promise, I will NEVER use Michael & Son and recommend to everyone they think twice before they make the decision to use their services!

    My neighbor was being serviced. I came home to find the large company truck in my front yard. I contacted the number on the truck and was told that the truck would be moved. I waited an hour and called again, was told that they'd "reach out" and have the truck moved. After another 30 minutes, I walked over and spoke with the workers. They stated that they "received permission from the neighbor to park in their front lawn." I explained that I am the neighbor and no one spoke to me, and asked again to have the truck moved. The truck was in my front yard for 5 hours. Parking a big ole truck in someone else's lawn is unprofessional period, but the fact I had to jump through so many hoops and then got lied to by the drivers was just insane.

    I purchased a home last year less than a year ago. To close on the house, the previous owners had to install a new HVAC system. Less than a year later, the AC is having mechanical issues and now won’t turn on at all while having a new born in the house. I referred back to Michael and Sons being that the unit is less than a year old and should still be under warranty only to be told that I no longer have the warranty on the unit because it stays attached to the previous owner because they had it fixed 2 weeks before I closed. Now I have to pay out of pocket to have a $5k unit fixed that was just installed last October. 1/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND.

    Good service, if you join their gold star program or whatever it's called where you pay monthly, it comes with discounts, free inspections, and queue priority. They're super busy though, so delays are common.

    I’ve been a member with this company for 2 years now. I have an a/c and heating unit replaced in March of 2020. The guy that installed it didn’t come prepared and asked if they could come back on Monday when the warehouse was open. I told them that’s fine but they need to give me a heads up on time because I had a very important meeting to be in on Monday. They called me on Monday and told me they were 10 minutes away while I was at work. After they were done installing my units I looked at my house and they had sprayed oil all over the side of my house while removing that ac unit. I called and complained because Michael and sons had wonderful service last year so I figured they would rectify this situation. I met with the manager of the HVAC department at my home and showed him what happened. He offered a cleanup of the side of my house and $300 refund on the $9,000 unit I just had installed. I agreed. I never received the refund or the cleanup of my house. In September I had an hvac inspection with them and they found a valve that was installed correctly that would prevent my heater from working. They fixed it two days later. I recently had some electrical work done at my house and I used a new electrician for it. He took one look at my ac breaker and told me it’s a miracle my house hasn’t burned down. The breaker is oversized for the wire. Meaning if something in my ac unit shorted out it would catch on fire because the breaker would not flip. I’ve called every day now to talk to the manager about this and his secretary’s assure me they’ve sent him emails to call me back. I haven’t heard a thing from him. I’m about to give this company up. This is a terrible experience
