My furnace check was a very pleasant experience -- technician was on time, worked quickly & efficiently, and was very personable. He provided suggestions, but there was no sales pressure. I signed up for the winter & summer checks for what I consider to be a very reasonable price. And, I even appreciate the Christmas cards I get from Melissa for being a customer! Highly recommended.

Late in the evening on a Saturday night before Christmas, Ron personally showed up and repaired our kitchen sink leak( just ahead of company arriving). He did all of the work under warranty at no cost to us. His company has earned our gratitude and business for life.

After 21 years I finally got a very large single stainless sink. It's perfect!!!!! Ron and Jonathan did a superb job, and I truly enjoyed having them in my home. My water heater went out on a Tuesday, called Howell the same day. They guaranteed water heater replacement for Thursday for $1800.11. The technician Jason arrived and could not give me an itemized list of the job. No problem. I called the office and spoke with Julie. She transferred me to Melissa’s husband (Melissa is out taking care of a sick child, everyone made sure that I knew that, multiple times). The husband whose name I do not remember, would not give me an itemized list. When I asked, he replied “were you not given the price already?” Me, “well yes but I would like to know the price of the water heater”.
He sounded irritated and stated he would have to research that and call me back.
Meanwhile I called two different repair companies and got significantly lower estimates to replace a 50-gal water heater in the garage.
The husband called me back, with arrogance in his tone no less stating “ $850 for the water heater, $55 for hoses, and then we have to keep the lights on, I have to pay my employees...” VERY CONDESCENDING.
Bottom line! If a company will not give an itemized list AND gets defensive about it, THEN WATCH OUT.
By this time, Jason the technician had somewhat finished draining my water heater. No one could quote me for the work he had already done. I gave Jason a $100 bill. And said I need the charges Becuase if I need to pay more then I will, but if I am OWED money then I want my change.
Jason left, my house is still disconnected from the water. I called Howell in regards to this. In response, Jason called me and threw it in my face that “you said you were going to have someone else come out”.
Grant it, I did say that. It does not mean to leave your job incomplete and to leave a family with NO WATER.
I asked about the $100. No list of charges. Now they say it’s just me. Which yes, but in the end they did not leave the job site as it was before they came.
I have never had this issue with Howell, EVER. Maybe Becuase Melissa is not there. Either way, bad business practice and customer service.
Ask questions and ask for an itemized list. ALWAYS.

Howell installed my new AC unit and my electric bill was cut in half. I have renewed my maintenance agreement with Howell for four years. I have also started using their other services.

Keith and James were professionals and completed the job at my house expeditiously. They cleaned up after they were through which really impressed me. I took 3 of their cards as I plan on referring them immediately to a friend who is planning on replumbing his house.
