Fogel was recommended to me by real estate clients that just had a system installed. Soon after the recommendation I had the opportunity to meet Patrick on a service call for another property, his knowledge and efficiency was impressive. This summer Fogel installed two new Trane units in our home - it was a great experience from start to finish! Mark made a very clear presentation and explained several equipment options and pricing to us. Luke and his installation team did an outstanding job on a couple of the hottest days in July. A month after the installation there was an issue with our Dominion rebate, Barbara in customer service straightened everything out within an hour. I highly recommend Fogel for any HVAC related services.
If I could give 10 Stars - I would!! Dustin was prompt, professional and competent! He called me to let me know he was on his way , then called again to let me know he was there so I could let him in remotely. He worked quickly and efficiently and called as soon as the work was complete and even cleared our drain lines, which was outside of our scope of work. Kelly in the office was AWESOME! So friendly and engaging! I know I kept her on the phone way too long due to some serious frustration involving another local company that dropped the ball, but she listened and assured me that I had made the right decision to call your company, and she was RIGHT! She set up our initial diagnostic appointment quickly and your tech came out the next day and took the time to explain the repair that was needed to my husband in great detail and took the time to give us a timeline and price for the repair. Christine communicated several times to let us know the part had been ordered, then called again when it arrived to schedule the repair. As a Realtor, I see and hear a lot of bad things about a lot of bad HVAC companies. Luckily, Fogel Services is NOT one of those companies! They are 5 Star all the way! From the first call and speaking with Kelly and explaining our issue with one of our personal units not cooling properly at home, to the actual coil replacement with Dustin, I felt confident that Fogel was going to get the job done correctly and efficiently, and I was right. Thank you so much and I look forward to singing your praises to everyone that will listen! Lisa B.
Love Fogel services. We have used them probably for 15 yrs. We'll mannered and get the job done. In most cases cheaper than other services like this one. I would recommend them to anyone. They don't overcharge and they fix only whats wrong and replaces only whats needed and shows you the parts they replaced and explains why and how it worked. Like I said would give them 10 stars but it only goes up to 5 stars.
Fogel Services has been handling my HVAC needs since 2008. They have replaced my unit and ventilation ducts and I have a maintenance service contract, that services my unit every six months. They alway respond to my needs and are very professional. If I need to speak to someone about a specific issue, I can call the owner of the company (Randal Fogel). If he’s not a available, I leave a message and he promptly returns my calls. I recommend this company to all my friends, family or anyone who needs HVAC information.
Had previously used Fogel Services professionally for years as a Construction Project Manager and thought Fogel would be a good HVAC vendor for our home.
June 4, 2018 paid for scheduled inspection and service; no issues noted/reported.
August 12, 2018 paid $131.15 for AC repair, advised Thermal Expansion Valve (TXV) was "sticking" and no need to replace TXV.
August 14th saw wet spot in ceiling, and eventually found plenum leaking, as well as new damage to plenum insulation (possibly from Fogel Technician).
August 18th advised we need a new Thermal Expansion Valve (quoted $712.00) after water damage caused ceiling to fall down.
August 20th Randall Fogel advised that technician did the "right thing" by not initially replacing the Transfer Valve because technicians are advised not to recommend expensive repairs except when "absolutely necessary."
Apparently the Thermal Expansion Valve was indeed "absolutely necessary" because we now have no AC, a hole in the ceiling from water condensate damage, and have had to sleep in a hotel due to extreme temperature inside our home.
Fogel Services takes no responsibility for the damage and loss of use of our climate control system. Recommend you look elsewhere for quality service.
We’ve used Fogel for two years now for the twice a year preventive maintenance service. Their techs always show up on time, do a thorough job, explain as they go and also take the time to answer any questions my wife or I have.
We had our AC go out and they needed another part after coming to fix but came back out after 9pm same day to make sure the job was completed so we didn’t go to bed without AC working. Jerry was the tech, he had the best attitude about being here after 9pm and was very professional!
Update: Jasper with Fogel came out early even and solved the issue. Appears there was a short in a switch at the AC condenser, problem with manufacturer...maybe there is some truth to Lennox...anyway, Jasper was very professional, knowledgeable and I would recommend him to anyone. I have increased my review another star due to Jasper's service and punctuality.
Fogel still needs to adjust their process to reduce issues like this in the future. Maybe it's training, maybe it's giving techs more time to troubleshoot, maybe it's having same day appointments for current customers, or a combo of all of those things.
Original: In a new home, less than 1yr old. Upstairs AC has gone out for a second time. Fogel is responsible for initial install and holds the first year warranty. Lennox...their tech even told us Lennox products are terrible.
First repair the tech left replacing only a transformer in attic and stated he was stumped why this unit stopped working. I asked how did he fix, he stated he's not sure how it's working but could not figure out the root cause. Was on-site for 2hrs or so. He stated next time it happens to call back and they will come back out. I asked if he could check refrigerant levels before he leaves, he stated he doesn't have time but would have of he had more time.
Now here we are, 80+ degree weather, I have a 1yr old and a 6yr old. We all will be sleeping in 78-80 degree Temps. This is not outdoor camping or in a house with a 10-20 year old unit.
Fogel needs to fix their process. Simply include emergency service for under warranty customers same day, especially for repeat issues, have their techs perform a thorough and proper check before leaving. Check the basics!!! Come on guys, this is elementary.
There are countless companies that are willing to come on site within 1hr, but I am concerned that Fogel would say someone else touched the system and the warranty is void. I'm also certain Fogel won't pay the repair bill from another local company.
While we have a 2nd appointment, it's almost 24hrs from now.
I expect better service than this for a company that is scaled for commercial and large home builders.
Not acceptable. Not seeing the long term value to remain a customer.
I'm open to adjusting my rating tomorrow based on the repair and what is being replaced.
Generally good reviews for Fogel but they dropped the ball with me. New home, they did hvac install...11 months in and the ac unit needs refrigerant. Two years later the unit needs refrigerant. Instead of checking for leak they tell me refrigerant seeps out! Nonsense! I called service tech on it and he left telling me manager would call me tomorrow. Never heard from anyone. Obviously they don’t stand behind there work. Disappointed. Instead of being covered under warranty I had to call in another firm to properly fix the unit!
I’ve been using Fogel heating and air for close to 10 years. They always have my back. I’ll never go anywhere else. Quick, super friendly and I have not had ANY issues with Fogel or my A/C system. Honest and completely reliable!!!
