From the start they were friendly and kept me informed. I had lots of extra questions and they were very patient and thorough, making me feel like my concerns mattered greatly. Not to mention, compared to other businesses, their prices were very reasonable. I would definitely recommend them to others and use them again.
Rene came and assessed our AC unit, replaced the compressor, and suggested repairs that would extend the life of my unit. I am thankful for the service I received today.
This is a company who will take a small issue and create a bigger issue. Our AC seemed to be overworked. They ended up replacing our outdoor unit with a high pressure unit that runs on 410A coolant. Our main unit is a low pressure unit that runs on R22 coolant. You don’t have to know about AC to know this causes a major issue. Now only 3 weeks later, during a heat advisory, and with our 14 month old niece visiting us tomorrow, the entire unit is already fried. We had to spend $1,000 in window units to get by. This company is run by awful people. The only reason we have to continue going through them is b/c our First American (also run by awful people) home warranty keeps sending our claim there. My fiancé is 12 years in the army, so if they don’t care about the men and women in uniform, then they won’t care about you. If you have a choice, then please do NOT use this company.
Ivan their technician was great. Very professional. Identify the issue, explained it and provided the solution. Was transparent with the cost.
I would never trust Comfort Makes as they are intentionally over charging customers and filing false repair costs to Home Warranty company vs what they are charging the customer. Comfort Makers was called out by our Home Warranty Company. They assessed the Evap Coiles were leaking and needing replaced. They quoted me $3,495 after the home warranty coverage to replace this. Later I had contacted the warranty company and they said the repair invoice for the work submitted to them by Comfort Makers was actually $1,200 less than what they were trying to charge me. So they were reporting to the warranty company less than what they are actually charging. I asked for pricing to also replace the condenser and the furnace. They quoted me a 15 Seer system for $17,315 which is ridiculous pricing. I specifically told the technician it extremely high and I have had other comparable systems replaced for way less. I also asked for pricing on other brands like Train, Lennox, or other brands that may be less. I was told by the technician that this is the only system he can provide me pricing on. He also said that was fair pricing and would be very surprised if I could get pricing for less than what they were quoting me. After the technician left, I called over another HVAC company that happened to be at my neighbors. That company quoted me $10,030 to replace everything with comparable Train equipment. Then I had another company I have used before quote me $8,200 for Lennox or Carrier system. I am very aware pricing from different companies can vary. However I have replaced several units at different houses and know what is fair pricing. I would never contact this company for work and if you do, expect to be taken advantage of.
On time, always answer the phone, they knew who I was when I called, good prices!
I have warranty and they came 2 times to fix 2 different issues and both times they want me to pay extra $270 for cleaning and maintenance because they are aware that this is not covered with the warranty. This is unprofessional and if you guys don’t make money from the warranty company then don’t deal with them.
Great service by Rene Sandoval. He took pictures of what service he performed and explained to me exactly what was done. He seemed to be very knowledgeable of his profession. Somewhat disappointed that the home warranty did not cover this type of repair and was out of pocket almost $500.
Rene, the service representative was efficient and professional. I have had Comfort Makers several times through my Home Warranty plan and the work is very trustworthy.
Rene repaired my air conditioning unit in a very short time, it was up and running in no time. He was pleasant to speak to, knowledgeable about his work at hand, and had a very professional manner! Looking forward to calling for assistance if the problem ever arises again for Rene!’
After speaking with Rene and Ivan, it is clear that the Home Warranty Companies do not operate with full disclosure on what is covered versus what they sell us. These Technicians went above and beyond to ensure that the heating unit was repaired to current safety standards, which is why a sediment trap was installed where we didn't have one before to keep debris out of the new Gas Valve. The Technicians are not responsible for company policy: This is a company that comes in through your Home Warranty Company and insists that you pay for maintenance every time they have to replace a covered part. And what is that Maintenance? A whopping $245 cleaning charge. Imagine if every time you got an oil change, Jiffy Lube insisted on changing your spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter because it was company policy. I have already told my Home warranty Company to never send them to my home on any future claims.
Warranty company dispatched this company to perform repairs as my unit was not properly cooling. Found the fan was burned out. However other things were noted and therefore I had repaired. The technician was very professional and I have no issues with him personally. However I do have an issue with Robert the supervisor price gouging for products such as this noted. Suction line installation ALONE $225. I contacted another AC Refrigeration company to justify this price and learned this BLACK foam ( 1 1/8”x1” wall thickness which is double as thick as I currently have is $13/ 6 foot piece). I will NEVER use them or recommend them. His only response to my husband and myself was ‘that is the market rate.’ This is NOT true.
Beware if using this company through home warranty they will price gouge you on work that home warranty won’t cover, don’t recommend
Was dreading the home warranty repair because you hear bad stories. Not with Comfort Makers! Rene showed up and evaluated and gave us ALL our options because we did not want to upgrade our unit (over 20 years old). He fixed it the same day! I am so happy our home warranty uses Comfort Makers! AND Rene is the best! Thank you Thank you Thank you!
I called this morning because the heater in my house is not working and it’s freezing in Houston and will be for the next three days. And the sooner they can come is on Thursday the 29?!!!! Unacceptable! I understand they are not first responders but still with this weather they should step up and help. After all they are nicely paid. That’s inhumane.
Comfort Makers is a team of Professionals with excellent knowledge in their jobs and a team that provides excellent service.
We had an issue with our AC on Thanksgiving. Rudy the technician who came out to help us was fantastic and kept us informed of what the issue was and what needed to be done to repair the system. Great service and professionalism. Highly recommend Comfort Makers.
Having a home warranty contract. Some contractors do not put you at the top of their list. Not so with Comfort Makers! It is obvious that my call was important to them. They are prompt courteous professional.
All I can tell you is beware of the scam and shady practices. They are chosen by home warranty but as most ppl have said they will come with list and bogus claims and the technican is so rude and unprofessional…. Because I asked him why he is providing me 2 bills, one for the home warranty with a different issue and price and another for me with a different issue and and price. The technican appears to have a problem talking to women who question what he provides, yelling at me on my property because I question him. The last time the technican was at my property he removed a wire from the other unit which he was not supposed to touch instead telling me to turn it off as a pretense to work on the other unit, once he left and I turned on unit it won’t turn on, only to find out he removed a wire, had to call another company and they fixed it. To top it all when I called the home warranty company the last time, they told me that comfort makers claimed not was wrong, my unit was working and they did not have to do anything. Beware it’s all a scam
Company originally quoted a 4 hour arrival time but were here within the first hour. David was professional/polite and was able to determine the issue with the AC system within minutes. He even took the time to show/explain what needed to be repaired in order to get the system up and running again. We previously received a $2700 bid for the same work but Comfort came in much lower and had the part to get it fixed in under 20 minutes. Would highly recommend!
