I’ve worked with SOS Mechanical for 15 years and recommend them highly. Responsive and professional service. On a recent maintenance visit, Bo did an outstanding job diagnosing an issue and finding a creative and effective solution.
A Mitsubishi mini-split installed by another company in an upstairs room would not hold the selected temperature. It had been looked at previously twice but no one could find the problem. The SOS technician determined that the unit was working perfectly but was located too near an upright freezer whose warm air discharge was close to the A/C's temperature sensor. Took him less than half an hour; personable, well-spoken fellow who knew to look outside the box, in this case for another box! Good show.

Out of town when upstairs unit stopped cooling. Chris came by and diagnosed system while neighbor waited, then called with details of the issue and made the repair.
These guys are WONDERFUL! Fast, courteous and really good at diagnosing the issue and getting it fixed. The tech who came to my business took care not to disturb my employees, he finished the job efficiently and explained in detail what went wrong. I highly recommend them.
SOS was great! Very timely and made the process easy as our A/C blew. Need to get a new system and walked us through all options. Kept the area clean and worked quickly while doing all the work. Would highly recommend them for any work.
I’ve received exceptional service, on multiple occasions and at multiple locations, from SOS Mechanical. From routine servicing to complete system replacement, SOS is simply a straightforward and fair company. My most recent experience, set up through Allison, was pleasant, professional and competitively priced. Her proficiency at her job is amazing, and I do not hesitate to recommend SOS Mechanical to family and friends.
I have been working with this company for a while, and unfortunately, after trying other companies last week, I realized how much they were overcharging me for all past services. I have a company with many stores in Austin. I was rarely in the store when they fixed our units. For the last service, I was there and was shocked by how they didn't care or answer your questions. After the technician was done working on the unit, he just said (it SHOULD be okay for now). After he left, it was a big mess. Both units stopped working, and I had to deal with a leak. They came back after 2-3 days, and after five days, they said you needed an entirely new unit for 33k. When I explained to the lady on the phone that it was expensive to make this investment now, she said, "Well, good luck." I asked to speak to her manager but am still waiting for a callback. The almost $400 I paid them for fixing nothing was not refundable. I called another company they charged me $250. It has been a week, and my unit works wonderfully. They even fixed the leak and told me it was an easy fix. From my experience of running many stores and businesses, I can tell you that they are just looking for quick money. Because of them, I had to shut down my store for several days. Please beware. They will not care about what your problem is they will just offer you the most expensive solution.
Sos was prompt, and the technician "Bo" was knowledgable and friendly.i paid 185 for a service fee, which was to be expected as it was the weekend. I was rather disgusted when i was told a simple ignitor ($25 retail cost from the manufacturer next day shipped) would be an additional 250 dollars in addition to the 185 i paid. I have no problem paying labor, or a markup on parts, but a 1000% markup on a part is unethical. I ordered a replacement from payne directly for 25 dollars and change, and will have it tomorrow. 2 minute install (1 screw and a plug) and ill be back in business.
Noticed our a/c had stopped working after 5 PM and they were here and had it working within 2 hours. Bad capacitor. Had an after hours fee but well worth it especially since we are on service plan and costs discounted enough to pretty much cover that. 20 stars! 🤗
Chris has been keeping our cooling/heating units in tip top shape for years. Always pleasant, on time & most importantly completes the job correctly the 1st time!

Purchased a heating and A/C system from SOS Mechanical about 10 years ago. It was not the cheapest, but they fixed all the duct work that the builder did and the new systems have not needed any repairs until this year. And the repair was very minor. The system works so much more efficiently than the builder installed system and the house heats and cools so much better. We have been very pleased with the systems and the service we receive from SOS Mechanical. They help me remember to schedule spring and fall checkups for the systems, they are always prompt and professional and they always call or text when they are on the way. They are knowledgeable and take pride in their business. (Chris is the best. He knows these systems inside and out. He helped fix some duct work issues, set up and helped us with issues early on with the digital thermometers and found a leaking capacitor during our last checkup. I trust him to make sure our heating and A/C are running well and will continue to run well.)
We bought a new AC a little over a year ago. SOS came out a year later to trouble shoot a faulty thermostat (not their doing), and the service then and now is excellent. Update from 7/22- AC not connecting (of course in the evening after business hours), repair technician was done by 10 am the next day! It’s calling for 107 today. Such a relief. Fantastic service!
I purchased a new Trane AC system 10 years ago with them. Installation to after service warranty service was professional and timely with this service oriented company. Thank you Steve , Chris and Allison.At year nine my evap coil developed a leak. They put in refrigerant to keep me cool and they ordered the new part and I got it installed within 5 days without any hassle.A lot of time with warranties you get the run around, but not with this company. Also had a switch to my furnace replaced under warranty and had them replace some duct work a raccoon got into. I just referred them to my neighbor without hesitation.
We are a business that has unfortunately had a lot of HVAC issues and dealt with a lot of contractors. SOS stands head and shoulders above any of their competitors by demonstrating my favorite qualities in any business: professionalism, honesty, and responsiveness. They don’t shy away from a challenge, they tell it like it is, and then they show up on time and fix it. Hats off to these guys. Thank you from our whole team and all our furry patients.
Conner came out to pull semi-annual maintenance. He cleaned the outside unit for dirt and debris, checked the differential across my inside coils, cleaned and checked my whole system. . Added some refrigerate and gave me a good to go on my AC unit. GREAT JOB! I will choose them for my next maintenance trip. Easy to work with too.
SOS Answered my call at 9:30PM when many others around town would not. Chris was almost immediately en route and replaced the capacitor in less than 2 minutes, possibly a world record speed. Made me think about those chainsaw log cutting competitions -- someone should do an HVAC equivalent. Chris at SOS would probably win. 😎
I needed to have my drainage lines blown out and called in to have a repair tech come out to take care of it I was able to get an appointment the same day. The tech was done in three minutes and he was on his way thank you for saving me from the Texas heat
