Ed and his crews are the most responsive, caring, and trustworthy group of experts. They price fairly and are always honest about what’s going on with my systems. This is my first call/ text when something goes wrong with my HVAC.
Ideal AirCare has provided service to us two times. Ed is very responsive, very polite, gives great & prompt service. Especially appreciated getting A/C cooling again with sweltering weather.
Called Ideal out for a second opinion after another company tried to pressure me into replacing my HVAC system. Ideal was great about explaining my options and recommended a comparatively cheap repair instead. Turns out nothing was actually wrong with my HVAC unit, but Matthew was very nice about letting me watch the whole process and ask lots of questions. Well worth the service fee for peace of mind and learning something new.
Both times my system was failing when it was very hot outside & Ideal Aircare was able to respond within hours & resolve the issue. Ed & Matthew were patient , answered all my questions & taught me what I could do as a homeowner as well. Honest, reputable & respectful; knowledgeable in their services. Great value, I highly recommend this company without any reservations.

Matt checked both of our units, repaired what was necessary. Explained everything before proceeding. Highly professional, proficient and fixed our issues. This is our "go to" business. Ed, the owner, and Matt are wonderful.
I would highly recommend Ideal Aircare. The service was prompt and professional. The technician was very thorough in making sure everything is working as it should on our heat pump.
Ideal AirCare was my second opinion call. The first told me the reversing valve on my heat pump was dead and needed to be replaced, then pressured me to replace the entire heat pump for 4K because it would "make more sense." In contrast, Ideal's technicians let me hover around them as they worked and answered all my annoying layman questions. They diagnosed my Nest thermostat as the real culprit. They replaced it and it was as simple as that. I am truly grateful we made that second opinion call. Whenever our A/C DOES need a replacement, I have no doubt about which company we will be calling!
Wonderful experience all around. Ideal Aircare diagnosed my problem and fixed it the day before a very cold Christmas Eve. Thankfully their swift diagnosis meant they could get the part they needed before the holiday. The technician was friendly and professional and explained everything in terms I could understand. The owner dropped by himself to deliver the part. They also were the only company I called that morning that had a real live person answering the phone!

We purchased a new home and on the first cold day this year, found out our heating was busted. Called Ideal at 5:30pm and they had someone out at 9am the next day. They diagnosed the issue and gave us a timeframe for the part we needed to come in. Took a little longer than estimated for the part to come in but that's not their fault - they called me the moment the part came in and said they'd send someone immediately to pick it up and come straight over to install it. Walter was super friendly, answered all of our questions, installed the part and stayed to run a full test of the system to make sure it was really fixed. Can't say enough good things about Walter and his service, and would definitely recommend! We got competitive quotes and Ideal's rates were spot on with all the others. Definitely a fair price for the great service!
Heat went out and called on. Saturday morning. They came out within a few hours only to miss the supply store hours (despite having two full hours before they closed to get a part). Pushing our repair two full days to Monday. Turned out they were wrong about what the problem was and still charged a $125 service visit charge for a 10 minute visit. I won’t use them again.

The best AC repair company in Austin. Very honest, reliable and professional. Twice I have used them over the years, both during 100+ temp days, they were able to get their tech in same day. First time a different AC company (also with 5* on yelp) came, did a few diagnostics and told me I needed to replace the compressor, and give me a $4k+ quote. The AC unit is 7 years old and compressor still under warranty. I called in Idealcare for a 2nd opinion. The tech came and within 5 minutes he tested and found out the compressor was perfectly fine. Found an electrical issue on the board. Fixed it in an hour with a $150 bill. He also checked all parts of the unit, and tightened a loose plate that could be a short circuit hazard. Beware. Most AC repair companies in Austin play this game. They make you replace a working unit with a new one, charge you a thousand $ in install, then they turn around and sell the old unit to someone else. If an AC guy tells you, you need a new unit, give Idealcare a call for a 2nd opinion. Their service call is $85, so if you do indeed need a new unit, you can atleast be sure of it. The owner Ed is an upstanding guy and I hope he stays in the business so I have someone to call any time I have an AC issue.

Joey was here for 2 hours and figured out a complex wiring issue and found one item not performing up to standards. After rewiring and changing the item cold air was back and we didn’t have to stay the night away from home.
AC went out on a Friday leading into another 100+ degree weekend. Ideal Aircare was out at our house exactly when they said they would be and they were very professional. We were back up and running in less than 30 minutes with a simple fix. What a great experience.
The beginning of an anticipated record Texas summer. Our A/C seems to be working 24/7 to maintain temperatures… then it can’t keep up anymore. I’m a “prosumer” so I look for condensation, filters, clogged drains, outdoor fans not spinning… everything looks great. I called Ideal AirCare and based on the fact that our house wasn’t in dire need (second A/C unit was working) they came out the next day. Joey arrived and was polite, focused on cleanliness with those fabric booties and did a thorough check of the internal HVAC before clearing it and proceeding outside. He quickly identified that the capacitor was bad and went to his truck to retrieve a new one — so glad he brought a supply with him! He recognized that I was hanging around and that I liked to learn, so he explained everything he was testing and fixing. The A/C was quickly cooling again, but Joey gave a few extra minutes to explain how I can extend the life of the capacitors and filters (and which Amazon copies to watch out for). Like I said, I’m a “prosumer” but I’d never gotten this advice before, and it will likely mean we won’t need to call Ideal again for a while — and they’re okay with that!
