While it's a fancy name for an Ace Hardware store with a sizeable selection top-shelf home goods, I love it here when I don't have the stamina for the larger big-name hardware stores. Yet the ample close parking, and easy in and out convenience, does come with some slightly higher prices. It's worth it at times, especially since I always feel like a kid with my grandfather when picking up simple hardware items, it's like time travel.
An Ace Hardware store that doesn't sell mineral spirits? What's up with that?

Showed up 15 mins before closing looking for sink parts and valves. Sales associate Bob approched us shortly after, we told him exactly what our project was and he took his time and broke everything down and helped us find exactly what we needed considering we had gone to three other stores and had lost all hope. Thank you so much Bob! Wish everyone was as helpful and knowledgeable as you.
Geno is the best! I had to do more than a few supply runs for projects today and he saved so much time and hassle by being courteous, knowledgeable, and super patient. Go Breed or Go Broke :D
The mix of old-school hardware store, high-end kitchen and dining water, and eclectic-gift-and-garden shop make Breed & Company one of my favorite Austin destinations. Always a sure bet for a quick and quirky last-minute gift.
Probably my favorite store in Austin! It’s in a true league of its own. Beautifully stocked with gifts, crystal, china, cookware, holiday items, a nursery and a full hardware store. They even have a bridal registry. A walk through Breed’s will make you smile and tempt you on every level. Locally owned, this store is a real gem!
Lovely items a terrific selection of gift ideas, but expensive place to shop.
