This company goes above and beyond especially when there is an issue. They installed my unit in march and around the end of April early may we had a leek and water damage do to an install error. Everyone makes mistakes we are human but they did to make sure it was repair and fixed was above and beyond. any company I had ever had to deal with. I would highly recommend their service to anyone for anything dealing with their specialty. Thank you J L's Heating for everything you did.

Very poor response. I have a house that is built by Meritage and JL did the heating and AC works. The work is very sloppy to begin with. They have appointments 10 days out every time I call them when I was under warranty. Obviously they knew they were not going to make any money out of it. None of the neighbors have a good word for them. All agree that the newly built houses should not have these many problems with a/c and heating. I will not use them.

I bought a brand new house with Ryan homes and JL heating and air installed the unit. Not even a week of living in the home it was a cold night I decided to turn the heat on in the morning. After about 2 hours of the heat running I smelled something burning. The manual was left on the heat strip which burned plastic and the paper. This could have been dangerous if I wasn’t home and the heat ran all day. They are quick to come out to remove the rest of the manual however this should have never happened! Do not recommend this company for your HVAC needs.

There is a reason why this company has low ratings. Better off avoiding.

We called JL Friday around 5:20 as our a/c would not shut down and house was getting cold. They called us back to say they would be here Saturday after lunch. I called him around 2:20 to see when he would be here. He told me he had 1 more call before us. Other clients had more emergencies than we had being cold. Very rude. Never showed up and never called. Spoke to office today and they could care less. Told me the tech never told me when he would be here. Will never use them again. Not dependable. This happened once before when they didn’t show up and no call. Do not have very good customer service.

Great service, communication and knowledge of my problem. There hands were tied by the manufacturer but they were able to overcome that and get unit running again!

I was having issues with both of my AC units not holding temperature at night while it was 72F outside. I called JL Heating & Air to assess/repair. When JL's technician Jimmy arrived he removed a capacitor from my AC UNIT and replaced with a physically smaller capacitor. I asked Jimmy why he did this, the snarky response I got was "what, you don't trust me"? The technician claimed that he checked all the vents, when in actuality he only checked only 2 vents. I told technician that this wasn't thorough at all, he said he doesn't have time to check other vents. I asked him about my other AC Unit (which was also having issues) and he wouldn't even assess it. He said I should be happy that I got a Sunday Service Call (which he was late for). He refused to even diagnose my other unit and told me call JL back for the issue since the other AC appeared to be functioning upon his arrival, I responded by saying both units were functioning when you arrived yet you took the capacitor out of one unit and replaced with a smaller & less efficient capacitor. He refused to give me back the capacitor that he took and and would not give any supporting information why he removed it in the first place. I have since learned by a competitor that capacitors are typically a first-to-fail on a UNIT, and that the physical size doesn't mean "less." Sad that a competitor had to explain this to me. JL spent approximately 10 minutes at my home. This was a terrible experience. JL's Heating & Air should spend more time training technicians. CONSUMERS: DO YOUSELF A FAVOR AND STAY AWAY FROM JL HEATING & AIR! YOU WONT GET ANY DIAGNOSTICS OR ANY ANSWERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS! I changed my rating from 1 star to 2 stars only because of information that a competing AC company gave. JL for the future of your business, please do better!

So I had a home built from the ground up by Ryan’s homes. I understand that they sub contracted the work to J and L heating . This was the company that installed and placed are A/C and heating units in. Well I’ve notice that are AC hasn’t been blowing strong. I initially called for regular service but the young lady said there would be a fee and they couldn’t maintenance until the unit was Fixed. I said ok come out. They came out and still there was an issue. Now at this point the summer is about to be in full swing. So the appointment for the maintenance which should’ve been the 10th of June they called and canceled because of so many customers having issues with their A/C “Like I wasn’t a customer”. I The young lady said they would call me to reschedule when they could come because that would also be a another Fee. Three weeks pass and so I decided to call today and ask hey you forgot me I still need my AC, now keep in mind they already came and said they fixed the issue. I explained to the young lady my AC is only 3 years old on a brand new house this is crazy . Bottom line she came back on the phone claiming they came and we the home owners bailed out on the appointment, and if another cancellation on our part they will never come back out. Plus she claims I will have to pay $245 for the service visit that nothing was fixed and for the up coming . I immediately fired these people J and L Heating. My Captain recommended another company and they are coming tomorrow. We will finally have A/C !! So my experience is they have poor customer service . I will not pay and Ryan Homes should look to use another company for Heating and Air. This company never called me back to reschedule and the work is poor in quality.

I just moved into a Brand New House Built by Ryan/NVR and they used this company for installation of my HVAC system. I closed on June 3rd and there was an issue with the AC not working and they would be out the same day to resolve it. I said no problem, that I wouldn't be moving in until the 8th. During my move on the 8th the AC went out. Technician came out on June 11th around 1100. Just around 1400 the AC was out. I called again and no one can come back out until tomorrow. This is the worst service I have ever received and I do NOT recommend this company to anyone.

The builder used this company on my brand new house, less than two weeks old. My heat stops working after hours. I call JL's Heating & Air directly, which is the after hours warranty policy. A voice mail instructs me to call the after hours technician. I call and leave my info for a call back. No call back. I end up calling three times. No one calls back. A long cold night. Begs the question, why have an after hours emergency number if no one is going to answer? I will use them for warranty work, noting else. In the future if I don't get a call back I will call a reputable company to fix the problem then send the bill to JL. Update, JL calls me at 8.45, 45 minutes after they are open. They apologize for their “on call tech” not being available. Said they would check on it. Had I reached their “on call tech”, he would have come directly to my house to fix it. But, because I didn’t reach him, they put me in the que with their other work load, so now I must wait until they can work me in. Result, because of their inability to perform their contracted warrant work, I will just have to wait. Wonderful business model.

We purchased a brand new home from a builder who used this company for the installation. After five months of living here, and replacing the $50.00 filter (designed to last a year) four times, we called another company to have an inspection completed. It was found that the control for the outside air damper was not wired to anything at all. This lead to an overworked system which resulted in an overworked motor, which has begun to leak and spatter oil. Under warranty, they were forced to come out, but it was clear from the minute the technician showed up that they were not going to own anything. Deflect, deflect, deflect, and with the most egregious level of disrespect I have ever received from a professional. When I confronted the tech with the brand new motor leaking, I was told it had nothing to do with the unwired controller and was in fact normal and common. It was clear he was not going to accept any responsibility, and I said I said "we're done here". With that he told the other tech to "stop cleaning up right now, we're getting out of this lady house." Upon leaving, they knocked my front door arrangement off the hook, it fell and broke into three pieces, which they left laying on the porch for e to find a few minutes later. Recommendation: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY EVER. Update: The owner called me back and I was met with the same defensive tone as the technician had. Clearly, the behavior begins at the top. She told me he has been with their company for 19 years and is one of their best. When I asked her about the companies reviews, she said she doesn't pay attention to them, as it only takes one upset person to post a bad review. Perhaps she should look at them.... there is cleary more than ONE upset person.

Really impressed with this company. It's not easy when you're A/C goes out in the dead of summer, but that's what happened to me. After getting several quotes and feeling like I was standing in the back of a long line of people needing service, I found JL's. I now have a brand new system that's under a 10 year warranty, and they went out of their way to make sure I was completely satisfied. BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! If you're looking for a heating and cooling company, look no further. You will not be disappointed.

Though I’m thankful that I now have air again after not having it for over a week, I’m not pleased with this company and how they operate. They are only getting a 2 star review because the technician that came out was very pleasant and respectful to me. I called them on a Friday (5/29) and they came out to confirm it was a leak in a coil. Fast forward to Tuesday (6/2), I had not heard anything back so I decided to call them to find out what was going on as it had been 5 days at that point. They ordered the part but did not let me know they were doing so nor had they given me prices on how much this was going to cost. My unit is only two years and three months old at this point so I start asking questions because I shouldn’t have these problems this early on. They tell me that the part is $1130 but since my warranty just ran out about two months ago they quoted me $850 for labor and refrigerant. I can say that I was not too happy about this but at this point I’m desperate for cool air in my home. As a customer and no expert of HVAC systems, the person answering the phone should be able to answer any question that I have instead of saying “IDK” or even ask the manager/owner for the answer. This company does not communicate well nor break down their pricing for a customer to understand. I should not have to ask for an itemized bill or receipt upon payment. Also, explain the different type of payment methods, I did not find out that there would a 3% convenience charge until the person told me prior to get my card information. I am not pleased with my interaction with this company and would not recommend especially if you are outside your warranty period on your HVAC system. I will be reaching out to Better Business Bureau and also Ryan Homes about this company as well. We spend and put a lot of our hard earned money into our homes and it’s upsetting and unsettling that we have to go through such hassle to stay cool or warm in them.

This company is a JOKE. The owner Pam Lee does not cares about you or your concerns. She nor her staff that answers the phones are friendly or courteous. They are all argumentative and more focused on getting the last word in rather than listen and being empathetic to your needs. This company was contracted by Ryan Homes to install the HVAC systems in our subdivision and multiple people have had nothing but problems with the units. Brand new homes and parts go bad... pipes freeze up... leaks. I’m not expert but this is BS! We are NOT the only subdivision with these problems. Please read your reviews Pam! You and your team are rude and quick to flip the script on people as if you are the problem. I have reported your business to the BBB as you know, with the combination of the terrible reviews and poor workmanship, you will NOT be in business much longer. I don’t care how long you’ve been in business Pam, you and your company just don’t cut it. Step your game up and maybe then we can talk. People save your money and go elsewhere. This is company is TRASH

Unprofessional. Do not use them. There is a reason for their low rating. Denied accountability for faulty installation (this was confirmed by manufacturer of the thermostat) and refused to repair while under warranty. They will be reported to the BBB as well.

Our AC unit has been off and on for 5 yrs. We had to replace the compressor 2 yrs ago. Last week it broke again not to mention something is wrong with the installation of it the AC unit in the attic. The tech said it was not properly installed and the compressor went out. I asked him how much was the labor, he could not tell me so I called the office and she told me $1200. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! We have to replace something that was replaced 2 yrs ago!!! How is that our fault?! 😡

What a great company! Came out in the time frame they said; even a courtesy 30 minute heads up. Very polite and friendly. Went straight to the unit and checked it out. Fixed it quickly and didn’t waste any time. Very impressed! I will definitely be staying with JL’s for all future heating/air needs.
