I have used Dowd Mechanical several times over the years, and all their personnel have been prompt, professional and an absolute pleasure to work with. They have come out on holidays and snowstorms and have gone above and beyond to fix whatever needed to be repaired. I recommend them highly and I promise you won’t be disappointed!
We had a very unusual problem with our air turning off and eventually on. Terrance came out immediately. After looking into everything that may have caused the problem he was puzzled but he figured it out and fixed it. In his 24 years of being a tech he has never come across something like this. I must say Terrance by far is the best. Air is up and running beautifully. Thanks Terrance. You're the best!

Howard has been performing our semiannual HVAC preventive maintenance for over seven years now. During the most recent visit, he also cleaned our gas dryer vent. He has always provided excellent and friendly service.
Our heater stopped working and Dowd Mechanical was able to send someone and fix the issue the same day. The technician was friendly, explained exactly what the issue was, and fixed the problem after getting a new part. The job was done quickly and we have no complaints. We've used Dowd's since moving into our home in 2006 and have always been happy with their service and expertise.
Responsive to an issue I was experiencing with my heating system which was installed by Dowd about 10 years ago. Spent the time to make sure everything was working properly before they left.
My recent experience with Dowd Mechanical Heating & Air Conditioning was easy and professional. My repairman came on time and made the repair. But, he also took time to explain the reason for the system challenges and what exactly was repaired...IN LAYMAN'S TERMS. Dowd's prices are reasonable and the service is top-notch! I've been working with them for 20+ years and they never disappoint.
I couldn’t be happier that I chose DOWD to complete an installation of a new heat pump system. I previously dealt with the company for a few service calls, and they provided excellent service; therefore, I elected to have DOWD install the new system. Scott provided excellent consultation for both products they install and was responsive for all of my questions. As it pertains to installation, Ryan, the lead mechanic delivered a high-quality product. The attention to detail that he took when installing the unit is apparent; all wires are pinned to the unit in straight/vertical lines, all of the plumbing aspects follow suit, the humidifier is centered and level on the unit. During the installation, Ryan was teaching and mentoring the apprentice, which shows DOWD’s commitment to develop quality mechanics. At the end of the job, they ran through all of the various features of the smart thermostat, life cycles for the humidifier and air filter, and best settings. The day following the installation, the office completed my product registration with the manufacturer, processed my PECO high-efficient rebate, and scheduled my first preventive maintenance. With all that said, choosing DOWD was the right decision, and I couldn’t be happier with my new system.
I just had the wonderful crew from Dowd's replace my 30+ year Trane heating and air conditioner with a new Trane system. I could not be happier with the whole process! Ryan, Robert and Matt were fantastic, knowledgeable and mannerly! They worked hard to get the old system out of my house and install the new one. This was not an easy job given small doorway and basement steps issues. Scott F was great in the consulting phase. He was always available to answer my questions. Shonda and Janine are a pleasure to talk to when I call the office.

I had a water heater installed in my home by Dowd Mechanical. Scott, the estimator came to my home and gave us a fair price and explained all details of the installation and options. The installation was professionally performed by Ishmel and Hugh. The water heater was relatively straightforward to install, but the expansion tank was a bit more of a challenge as there was not a lot of room above the water heater due to pipes, walls ext. The attention to detail and time spent to do the job correctly was very much appreciated, and the job turned out great. And yes, they even wore booties to protect my carpet and flooring, and left my home as it was when they arrived. I even received a follow up phone call the day after the job was completed by the office. Thank you to these awesome technicians, Scott and Dowd mechanical!

We used Dowd recently to install a new heat pump to replace an old oil furnace. Scott, provided us with quotes in a timely manner and answered all my pre-purchase questions. Installers (Mike and Ryan) as well as their other techs have all been polite and professional. The system we chose was not cheap, but I believe the best on the market. Overall, very pleased by this companies responsiveness. The new heat pump has kept a very consistent even temperature throughout our home (not the big swings in temperature we had with our furnace). Looking forward to all the money we will be saving on our energy bills.
Joe Dowd and his team are always great with service and answering any questions I might have about my unit from the Ac in the summer, to the heater in the winter. Great Team and thanks for the service check up this week!
Had a broken ignitor, got a same day repair from technician John. This was quite helpful since it was getting very cold at the time, so the quick repair was appreciated. I would recommend DOWD if you need any emergency HVAC repairs.
We were concerned about our not so new heating system. The technician was on time (he called to let us know he was on his way), listened to our concerns and spent a good deal of time checking over our heater. He assured us that everything was in order, which was a relief. Dowd came highly recommended through a friend in the HVAC field. We are happy to have a reliable company to service our heater and AC.
