Justin is my technician and has been great this year. I had to have my thermostats replaced in December, and this week he came out to clean my A/C unit. He provided clear info on what was wrong and my options for fixing it or maintaining it and the cost. I was able to make a decision and know I can call if I need additional help. They arrive on time and communicate before coming to the house. Highly recommend.

I called and got same day service with 72 degrees. Everyone from the staff answering the phone to the technician were incredibly understanding, kind and efficient. Jessie was fantastic. Not only extremely professional and thorough, but incredibly kind and personable! I am so grateful I called them and got the work I needed done through them.

Last summer (2022) my upstairs wasn’t cooling and 72 Degrees came out and told me I needed to replace my unit and gave me a quote. After replacing the full unit, the upstairs still wasn’t cooling so the technician came back out and basically said, “my bad, I didn’t even check the upstairs unit.” So even though that’s the issue I called in, they only checked one unit and not both. So more than $30k later and I have two new units. I should have been much more vocal about my dissatisfaction at the time, but reasoned with myself that both units were old and likely to need replacement in the near future anyway and at least it’s done. Fast forward to this year (2023) and they come out for a system tune-up and the SAME sales technician tells me I should evaluate having crawl space duct work replaced because the original installation (not the work of 72 degrees) had the wrong size duct work. Wait, what?? You mean to tell me that after spending $30k last year for two new units that no one checked the size of the duct work to ensure that it was the appropriate size for the air load needed to be pushed through!? When I asked variations of that question I was answered with some version of “this is my mistake” and “the technicians only do the work assigned to them to fix the most urgent need.” If that’s the case, the entire process for how this place handles installations and repairs needs to be reevaluated. Duct work should have been part of the original scope of work and quote to ensure a fully functional HVAC system. No one should expect to spend large amounts of money on new units and have only partial evaluations and recommendations of the system.

This company is a SCAM. I have a three year old package unit for my home that was installed by 72 Degrees just before I purchased my home in 2019. The system worked well until late August 2022. While there was a rare circumstance that a low voltage wire arched and created a refrigerant leak in the suction line, 72 Degrees failed to make the appropriate repair and did irreversible damage to my system. The technician patched the suction line and put 4.8 pounds of refrigerant (system calls for 4.5 pounds), but based on expert opinions of two HVAC experts and competition, a proper vacuum was not pulled to remove moisture and other debris from the line. Fast forward a few days from the initial repair - A/C is still not cooling and the house is reaching 85 degrees inside with very high humidity. The technician now claimed the compressor was condemned and is in need of a replacement. This was submitted through the manufacturer warranty. After almost three weeks waiting for the new compressor to arrive, the technician returned to replace the compressor. After installing the new compressor and prior to adding refrigerant back into the system, the technician (same guy who serviced the unit the first time) spent time looking for a power outlet and asked me for a drop cord to pull a vacuum. Less than an hour later, he says there is moisture throughout the entire system and it needs to be replaced. I have spent $4,300 in refrigerant and labor and still have no working A/C system. The service manager joined the senior technician today to also recommend a replacement system for over $12,000. I am now using a different HVAC company to replace my system and will never trust 72 Degrees again. Don't fall for their traps!

Many of the one star and two stars reviews are very accurate. I should have read them first. I can not speak to the actual technician work, as soon as he showed up said “they don’t work on these units typically” however and instead of wanting to fix or repair the issue on a 1 year old unit, and offer you best options, they want to take the easy route and charge you for a full new install measured in the thousands of $2,800 This explains why they don’t work on these units because more $$$ for them to do the large job and offer fixes measured in the thousands. Paid them their service fee + tip and moved on to someone else. If they don’t work on these units, then why send your technician and why charge me? Update: Got another service technician in, $150 later it is fixed. Lessons learned: get you multiple quotes for service and repair. Do not accept outrageous rates. These units designed to last 10, 15, 20 years.

Excellent service. Always on time or early and call to confirm when on way. They stand behind their products. Have happily used them for over 15 years and had them replace both my units when they expired. Very happy with this company and their employees.

I have always had nothing but good things to say about 72 Degrees until now. Over 5 years as a loyal customer paying a monthly fee for expedited service. My A/C went out Friday night with a house full of guests. I called at 7:28 pm and was told no help until between 8-10 Monday morning. No technical advice or anything just wait in a HOT house until Monday. I fixed it myself Saturday morning NO THANKS to 72 Degrees.

I had my thermostat blank so called them for diagnostic. They sent technician on the same day for $89 visit fee and he said AC Drain is clogged. He said total charge including visit fee would be about $470 so I asked for discount and he did $330. I asked him is this normal rate or should I check with other business? He said this is normal rate and I trusted his words. I agreed and he cleaned drain in 5-10 min max. He left and I called 2 other local businesses to ask about the rate for clogged AC drain cleaning service and I got 2 quotes of $99 and $125 (including visit fee and drain cleaning service fee). I was overcharged by more than $200. Do not trust them for the money, you will be cheated.

I promised an update. I am changing my rating for now. It seems there was a thermostat issue (it was replaced no problem) and a wiring issue. When I asked why the wires weren’t looked at during install he admitted that that should have been checked over to see if it was working. I can appreciate that he admitted that and didn’t try to dodge it. The wires were existing so I appreciate that he was respecting my intelligence enough to tell me that the existing wire issue should have been noticed and found during install (this is the first time we’ve needed AC since install). He showed me a photo of the system, in reference to what the inspector had commented to me. I can completely agree with him the system in no way looks like it was dropped and so I am Unsure why the inspector chose to describe it that way. The tech made it sound to me that the door was maybe a little off center a bit and wasn’t aligned when the inspector saw it, the unit is not dinged or anything. So, for now, I am updating my rating. Trying to be understanding of some things that are out of their control (a bad motor in the zoning was the first issue and it likely came from the factory that way) and the thermostats wiring was an issue this second time. He told me the tech who installed the unit originally is no longer with them. And I am glad because it seems he did not check the AC after the install to insure it was running. Throughout my process with the company I have dealt with Justin, Adam, Alan and Amber and Jenna. All of the staff have been polite to me. Even when at times in frustration I was not because I was aggravated at the situation. So as far as professionalism I can not complain. Although I hope to not need to see them again until our maintenance service! 🤞 Original review I have tried to avoid writing a bad review but as I sit in my bedroom that is 80degrees after hours I feel extremely frustrated and disappointed. We had two new systems installed in November 2021. One system

The technician who came out, Justin, was phenomenal. On time, friendly, and efficient describes this visit. He took the time to explain everything to me and couldn't have done anything more to leave me as a satisfied customer. Thank you!

Technician performed the necessary heating maintenance. He found some mold in the unit, and informed us how to fixed it. We received a prompt estimate. He installed a UV light and cleanned the coils.

Had a new heat and AC unit installed in January/February. It was installed poorly, causing condensation to leak through my ceiling in August. Spent $400 just dehumidifying the room it affected (it felt like a swamp for multiple days) and will probably be a few hundred more to repaint the walls/ceiling. I brought it to their attention on the day I discovered the problem and have spoken with reception, a technician, and a supervisor and have heard nothing back since the supervisor visited my house in early October saying he'd try to rectify this.

I do NOT recommend this company. Initial service to HVAC unit cost over $700 and still the unit failed within days of resuming use. For the follow up visit, we were charged $900 for recharging the coolant, though the repairman contended there was a leak that he couldn't find and the unit would soon need replacing. They sat on that payment check for 189 days before cashing it unexpectedly!! No explanation. No courtesy call to discuss a delay, etc. Additionally, a second opinion by a reputable company on our HVAC unit (after the $900 visit) showed NO signs of a leak and they said there was NO coolant in the system!!! THEY added coolant AT NO CHARGE and the system has worked flawlessly ever since (over 6 mos. now). 72 Degrees has left me feeling that they are deceptive or incompetent or both.

I do not recommend this company. Service technician told me that coils are on their last leg and would need to be replaced at a cost of $3,000. And if I was going to spend that much, I should just get a whole new unit because it was on its way out as well. When I asked for a quote on a new unit, I was given estimate of $10,000 to $30,00. I felt that was rather excessive, so I decided to get a second opinion from an independent contractor. This gentleman told me that he found nothing wrong with the coils, and nothing wrong with my unit that is only 7 years old. And IF the coils should need replacement, he would do it for $1,800. And a whole new unit is not needed. Be mindful of these bigger companies. They have huge overhead costs, and try to pass it along to the consumer by pushing new units with a big price tag. I felt they were trying to take advantage of me. Thankfully I didn't fall for it.
