Kaltec charged me a service fee to come out and look at my home AC and said I was three pounds low on R22 refrigerant. They wanted to charge me $349.99/lb to refill it! I called probably 15 different places and the highest was $200/lb for R22. I scheduled a company to come out the next day and charge it for $85/lb.
My service call was due to my fans not turning on the unit outside. After contacting Kaltec I received service within two hours. The Technician asked a few questions and went to work on the unit. He told what was needed and hoped he had the item on his truck. He returned with the new equipment and installed it and the fans turned. Within a few minutes I had cool air blowing once again. I appreciate how quickly my unit was service and the maintenance tips.
Dakota and Muhammad were wonderful! They cleaned out our sink and shower drain and they r open and running like a champ. They provided invaluable info about a new toilet and sump pump with battery back-up. That allowed us to make an informed decision about both systems. Their team of 3 men also checked out our boiler heater and air conditioning unit after a power outage. Thx so much! They were very polite, kind, knowledgeable and fast! We would highly recommend! Dakota and Riad returned a few days later to install a lovely new toilet. They were professional, kind, knowledgeable, fast, neat and tidy. Thx so much for a job well done‼️
Dakota replaced the old toilet water supply valve. He was very quick and took care to not leave any mess behind in our newly remodeled bathroom.
They came right away to repair a busted pipe. Matt was courteous and professional and they are wonderful job. We’ll be using this company again.
Would NOT Recommend... Issues with diagnostic fee, offers/discounts on their websites are misleading/unclear. Technician was not a people person at all, cold and not nice. He lied about pricing & what was agree upon before work even started (added 30% more AFTER the repair). $50 part at a store turned into $350 total for a 20 minute job. Left a bad taste in my mouth... Would NEVER Recommend.
They came fast on a Saturday I can give them that. However, the tech assessed my heater came on I thought I had something simple and he recommended me services I declined because I hear my heater. I should have checked the heat before he left its blowing cold air. I call back to see if thats normal and was told the $139.00 is the assessment doesn’t include repairs thats on me but Dakota should have said for your heat to actually work you need this repair versus recommend. The repair in question was almost $700.00. I have a 1 year old in winter in Michigan obviously I would have paid I couldn’t afford it but if that was the difference being warm or not! I had a feeling I was being conned however so I called another company guess who had actual heat in 15 minutes and was told I indeed didn’t need that $700 repair. Also the guy from another company said my exhaust pipe had been moved which could omit carbon monoxide. So not only was I about to be conned my child and I could be dead carbon monoxide is no joke. I won’t say it was purposeful about the exhaust maybe that was inexperience but don’t recommend for obvious reasons.

Dakota was super knowledgeable, friendly and professional! He not only fixed our furnace, but also offered tips on how to keep it ruining at an optimal level. Dakota is a true asset to the Kaltec team!
Got my air ducts cleaned. Awesome to see how clean it became afterwards, not only that but they were quick, kind, on time and efficient. Had lots of questions and both technicians (idk if that’s the right word) were very knowledgeable. Riad and I forgot the others name! No hidden fees, and they also have a very competitive price compared to other local duct cleaners. Scheduling was made easy on the phone.
They responded quickly by phone and had someone ouy the next morning. It was Christmas Eve and temps were below freezing for two days, so they really got me out of a jam.
Kaltech is a company that lies about needed services on furnaces in order to upcharge for repairs and sell you on their finance charges. I was quoted at well over $1000 for a new control board, the control board is testing just fine. It was an outright lie. In addition to this, $140 just to come out is NOT applied to the repair like it is with most service folks. DO NOT HAVE THESE PEOPLE WORK ON YOUR FURNACE THEY WILL LIE TO TAKE YOUR MONEY. When confronted they told me no one reads reviews.
after calling 7 companies yesterday to fix my heating issues, i about lost hope. then i called Kaltec, and even though I was on hold for a bit, I didn’t mind. The representative I spoke to, I believe her name was Terry, Amazing!! Super friendly, informative, and explained she was training, but i wouldn’t have even noticed she was awesome! The techs Dakota and Amr came out right on time yesterday for the service visit, and communicated they’d have to come back, and again today right on time! Amr was quick, efficient, and friendly! I’m so glad i called them!! Thank you Kaltec for your quick, friendly service!!
Alex A. and his team were fantastic! Respectful, considerate, and professional. They did a great job with my furnace install from start to finish. I appreciated the beginning/end-of-day summaries and their care with using sanitary booties when in the house. I’ll be calling Kaltec in the spring for my AC maintenance.
Riad And his partner were very professional and personable. They did an amazing job and cleaning our ducts. They explained every procedure that was done and we are able to see pictures of before and after. I would use this company again and will refer them to family and friends.
Both of the techs were very friendly quick and efficient very careful with their boots and dirt in the house. Would recommend!
Dakota came in and gave us thorough exam of our furnace. We found out our furnace was not up to code and should have been inspected when we purchased the house. I highly recommend this company.
Humidifier didn't work. He told me I needed a new humidifier. The one I had was obsolete and parts was unavailable. A new one would cost 700 dollars, due to the time of the season.
Was punctual for furnace repair estimate. Explained what has to be done and warranty of a new furnace if I decide.
We've used Kaltec for our HVAC services for a few years now. They are very responsive, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. When needing a new furnace, they provided many options to help find what best fit our need and budget. We highly recommend them!
