Wow. AC quit cooling last night. I called at 8:30 AM (on the 4th of July!) and they arrived at noon. They fixed it and were gone 45 minutes later. Great experience. PS - it wasn’t their equipment. It was ants in the contractor!
Oscar was prompt professional and got my a/c back in working order in 1 hour

Schumate is such a great company. We had their technician Michael Wheeler out to repair our furnace. He replaced the broken part but then went above and beyond to determine why the part broke. He was able to fix the issue so it doesn't happen again. So many people fix the issue and leave, and Schumate goes the extra mile. Always on time and professional. Can't go wrong with this company.
These folks are amazing! I found them through Trust Dale, which was big points right there. Customer service was great. They said they could send someone within the hour and sure enough he was here. Immaculately uniformed gentleman who was extremely knowledgeable, Luis did the service and the couple of repairs needed at a very fair price. Poor guy had to crawl under my house and he was so good about it. I would HIGHLY recommend this company. One of the best experiences I have ever had with a service/repair company. I cannot say enough good things. Thank you!
Shumate installed a new HVAC system two units. It was done in a day and they are consistent with providing maintenance and service.

My part was ordered and installed very quickly! My technician was knowledgeable and had went to work on the furnace as soon as he got to my home. He was done within an hour, so I add speedy work and he showed me all the parts he replaced.
We contacted these folks after we had two units die at the same time during the summer. We replaced one and another company got the other “limping” along since parts were nowhere to be found. We started calling around for quotes and to see who had actual units in stock to just replace it. Most places were price gouging and selling low quality units… or just didn’t have anything to install. these guys came in and gave us a fair quote, not jacked up AND they had units in stock. Their techs and installers are super professional and nice. We were so beyond pleased with them that we asked them to come back and help us track down a cooling issue for the first floor. They had some many guys crawling all around our finished basement to locate where some lines were disconnected in the ceiling and causing low airflow to the first floor. We had so many other companies look at it and tell us “nothing we can do, live with it” but the Shumate team was like a dog with a bone, they wanted to solve the issue - and they did! After years of having every company in the area out, finally it’s fixed! Now we are having them help us solve humidity issues for our second floor and we have no doubt that a solution will be found! We have used Shumate for many years and had great experiences each time. Lately their customer service seems to have slipped. We have two systems in our home. Both of them were just serviced under a preventative maintenance service. Today I have no heat on one side of our home. When I called Shumate I was told there is nobody available. I asked if they could come on a Saturday and I was told that they try not to work on Saturdays. Shumate no longer cares about the customer only about profit. They have ventured into other industries such as plumbing. They have grown too big to care about the customers that have helped them grow. I am taking my business elsewhere.
Bait and switch. Had an appointment to troubleshoot my AC unit for $97. Already had another company come out and quote a repair and wanted a second opinion. 1hr before the tech was schedule to arrive i got a call saying the price to come troubleshoot the issue was now $97+ $350 for a leak check. Other company did that trouble shooting for $89.00 including the 5 minute leak check. What a waste of time. Glad i took today off of work. Thanks Shumate
What a great bunch of professionals! There is nothing worse than having an old HVAC unit break down in the middle of a Georgia summer, but for two summers in a row that is exactly what has happened to me. Thank goodness for the great guys at shumate, that were not only able to find parts that fit my unit so that I didn't have to buy a new one, but were pleasant, and professional in every way. I feel that the price that they charged was very reasonable, and they got that cold air blowing again quickly! Will not hesitate to use again, and refer friends to them often.
Shumate in Tennessee is fantastic. They are all that a consumer could ever expect and more. If you are looking for a contract provider to service your heating and A/C system on a continuing basis, Shumate is your best choice in the greater middle Tennessee area.

BEWARE: Called Shumate HVAC to repair a 2 year old 3.5 ton Goodman HVAC that stopped cooling during a week of 100+ degree temps. Went several days without AC and had to pay the $75 extra Saturday fee of $175 service call. Technician immediately knew it would be the capacitor. Here's the problem: technician says you want the basic capacitor for $269 that'll last 2 years or the 5 yr capacitor for $369. I took the better $369 5 yr option. Then later I googled the Goodman 3.5 ton capacitor part and realized the most expensive 60,000 hour replacement capacitor was $59.99 on Amazon. I overpaid $300 for the capacitor and an extra $75 to be robbed on Saturday. If your AC is out buy a new capacitor and plug it in yourself for less than $100 and about 30 minutes.
UPDATE: Despite the poor telephone experience of last night, when I called again this morning the company said I was on the schedule for this afternoon. The tech actually arrived this morning and replaced a failed capacitor in the unit (less than 5 yo Daiken). I am relieved, and happy that the company took care of me in a relatively short period of time. I've been a loyal customer since 2007 and used them to install a complete new HVAC system. Today during the worst heat wave my unit stopped cooling and the AC unit is making strange noises every 15 minutes. The unprofessional woman who called me back hours later to schedule, told me they might get to me in 3 days. She didn't care that I am a senior living alone with 3 senior (11 year old) dogs either - just said she has about a hundred other calls to make. It is now almost 9pm and my home is up to 81 and climbing.
STAY AWAY! This does not go for Shumate HVAC, who are great. But Shumate plumbing has been an absolute nightmare. The two technicians that were assigned to our job were clearly inexperienced and poorly trained - they couldn't even find the water main at the street.They came out to replace a water heater and install a pressure regulator, and we woke up the next morning to a flooded basement. They had ruptured the old pipe of our main water supply, and even worse, refused to take any responsibility for the issue or do anything to make it right. Management is extremely condescending and was downright sexist to my wife. They also try to upsell at every opportunity. Now we're looking at a $10K repair. Will never hire again. Do yourself a favor and call literally anyone else.
Waste of time. Said they needed Help. Said they loved my Interview. Sent me to take a drug test and physical took 2 hrs but everything came back fine. Said all we needed was my background check. Two weeks later I called to check on the status. They said it came back two days ago and it was fine as well but got to busy to call me and said they had a meeting and they can't hire anyone right now. All of a sudden they are on a hiring freeze. Look at the picture. Notice anything? SMDH
