Mike’s energy audit of our house went way beyond our expectations.He used high tech equipment to look at everything and everywhere. His report prioritized opportunities for us to improve efficiency. We followed up by having him change our furnace filter to two two inch filters. He was professional in his work that was high quality. It was difficult getting an exact schedule for the filter work, but when done, it was done right.
I have used This Efficient House for 2 projects. Most recently for drill and fill cellulose insulation of my walls (applied from the interior, which is a challenging application). The results were great with a noticeable increase in comfort, reduced drafts, and less cycling of the furnace. The house is also quieter. I also used Mike and his team about 10 years ago for attic insulation, air sealing, and some other areas of targeted insulation work. They also installed a high efficiency Goodman furnace, which has performed incredibly well with zero issues over the last decade. That project itself reduced my gas bill by approximately 50% in the coldest winter months, not to mention making the house much more livable.
Went above and beyond to resolve the insulation issues I had. Great ideas, professional, and timely. I will definitely return to these guys for help in the future.
Mike was great to work with on our whole-house fan project. He gave us a fair price (better than the competition) and completed the work quickly and efficiently. Will definitely check him out again for other work!

Have worked with this company for several years having them do improvements on our rental properties. Jobs include an attic insulation upgrade, air infiltration leakage test and fix. Today Mike did a comprehensive furnace inspection which located a small gas leak. We have always had good results with their work and the cost seemed fair.

Mike was very helpful and he genuinely cares about the client. He identified several gaps in the attic insulation, diagnosed suboptimal airflow from AC/heater, and fixed both issues. He also inspected the attic to make sure there was no condensation from the central humidifier (which we were concerned about). We learned a lot of useful things from him and have optimized our energy usage and have the know how to prevent disasters. His service was well worth it. Highly recommended.
Mike did wonders for the comfort in our house. I have had numerous different heat and a/c people in through the years and never really found any solutions. Certain rooms in our house have been either too hot or too cold depending on the time of year. One consult from Mike and he found two very quick and easy fixes that helped things considerably. Finally, he discovered the attic was very under insulated, so he added more insulation and sealed the attic. We have just gone through one of the hottest 3-4 day heat waves I can remember and the difference is remarkable. On a 100 degree day, our a/c would run non-stop set at 72 degrees and it would struggle to stay in the upper 70's. And that was with it running non-stop. Over the past few days I've noticed it runs much less than I would normally expect. It's set at 73 and it stays that way. My only regret is that I didn't find Mike sooner. Not only are we vastly more comfortable as a family, but this is going to save us a ton of money over time as well. If you aren't happy with your system, this is the place to go.

Mike has a passion for making more comfortable, energy efficient homes. We have a 70s era split-level that suffered large temperature differences between levels and rooms. Through a combination of air duct sealing and additional insulation, they were able to lower the temperature differential to within 1 degree between the mid and upper levels of the home, even on very hot summer days. Mike is a pleasure to work with, showed up when he said he would and got the job done quickly.
To update: Mr. Tuitt has graciously re-paid me for my time and out of pocket expenses for the job his company did not complete. This is a true sign of trying to make things right. He has had some unfortunate issues arise which was making it difficult for him to get back to me in a reasonable amount of time. All is well. The review below was the original review posted shortly after we thought the job was finished. We recently had to do other work in our crawl space and it was then we discovered that they never finished their work! Our radon system fan was never hooked up, nor was the electrical line even connected to power. I have tried multiple to reach him via email. His phone message box is full and so you can't leave a message. Wonder why? I even went to his place of business which is a house but no one would come to the door. I have since had to hire another electrician, one of his former subcontractors, to finish the job and pay for it--again! Stay away from this company. After a home energy audit with Efficiency Works (rebate program with Xcel and City of Loveland) I selected 3 companies for bids to upgrade my 1960's brick ranch style home. I selected Mike with This Efficient House because of their customized approach to insulate my home cost effectively. Other bids recommended expensive approaches for less effective rewards. Mike had a unique plan to insulate my crawl space knowing that my house was built in 1960, before waterproofing was used on exterior basement walls. My house is the low point in the neighborhood that had high moisture issues in the past. (Added 2017- unfortunately he never finished the work. His workman said they were finished and we took them at their word.) Lastly, I installed a Whole-House Fan to help cool down the house in summer because with only a swamp cooler the house can be very warm. I am looking forward to see how well it works this summer. All interactions were positive and professional, including explaining estimates and making changes since they were doing a bunch of work at my house. They did a great job of keeping our living space clean even though they were accessing the attic through our main floor to both install a whole house fan and blow in attic insulation. The work to insulate the walls was well done and exterior boards were replace without needing repair or repainting. It's been a full year and my energy bills are lower and my house is much more comfortable. They also did a good job following up with city of fort collins when the rebate payment got stalled by another city contractor. I would recommend.
I couldn't even get them to return my calls and e-mails after a month of trying to get a quote, even had a third-party home efficiency auditor (that recommended them) try to help me get in touch but they never responded. That's not a good sign for future customer service and availability. It's possible I was just small potatoes but we estimated it would be $10,000-$12,000 of work and they weren't interested in me. Proceed with caution or avoid altogether.
This Efficient House both insulated our house and installed a new High Efficiency furnace, hot water heater and AC. They were reasonably priced, very knowledgeable, and did the work quickly and "efficiently". I am impressed with the level of their service, knowledge, and responsiveness. They applied for all rebates, tuned the machinery to it's most efficient and took care of all clean up and any outstanding details in this complex project. I highly recommend them.
We had our house sealed and re-insulated. They were cost-efficient and were clear about prioritizing alternatives. Their work was very professionally performed and we expect to have them back in the future for other projects. They also did a great job of qualifying and processing the rebates.
Work was done well and inspected by a separate company which confirmed quality of work. The only problem was getting the job scheduled. The company had over booked jobs and didn't have enough employees to keep up. They have since remedied the problem. The workers were very professional and left the job site neat and clean.
