This review is after lightning up was sold to Allen services, The very first time I tried to do business with the new Allen owner I waited 3 hours into the appointment only to have them finally call and cancel on me & try to reschedule for a couple days later to a time I'm not available?! Totally unacceptable, very unprofessional & rude to make the customer wait for no reason, i will NOT do business with them again! I miss lighten up, they were great, That's a real shame!
Kyle and Ben arrived promptly at scheduled time. Kyle was knowledgeable regarding previous wiring repair done by LightenUp and asked several questions to get information for the current issue. Once the problem was identified, he offered information as to the possible cause and options to correct it. Repair was timely. Both technicians were pleasant, engaging and knowledgeable in resolving the problem. A good experience. Only negative was small area of debris left on floor in hall that wasn’t swept up.
We have been clients of this company for years. A subscription service gets us maintenance and free service calls. Recently, they installed a new, more efficient furnace for us, and I was impressed with how they didn't try to upset me or confuse me about what I was paying for. We'd installed a new smart thermostat that was supposed to be very good, but after returning it twice and having three units that caused our A/C and furnace to run simultaneously (which is part of why we needed to replace our furnace), we finally called Lighten Up to verify that the problem was the thermostats. They came, spent an hour installing and reinstalling thermostats, confirmed that the problem was in the popular and supposedly high quality (Google) thermostat, and didn't even charge me anything for it. I love these guys. Brandon, Kevin, and Jon are all super friendly, and they know what they're doing. This year on my annual a/c checkup, Keith and Eric were super friendly and efficient. When they pointed out that the condenser could use a cleaning and I indicated I'd like to get that done, they just asked, "Do you want us to do it right now?" And they did it. I didn't have to deal with making calls and scheduling a different appointment. I love it when things can just get done.
This is the fourth time I have used this company. They are prompt, professional, explain what is needed in detail, provide estimates including where it might be more depending on what the find and complete the work including cleanup. It never has been more than the estimate and costs have been very comparable to competitors. I highly recommend this local company!
CJ arrived on time. He listened to what I needed to be done then showed me what parts were needed and the costs. He worked efficiently as well as making an adjustment with one of the faucet installations, then double checking that there was no leak. When the work was completed he showed me what all had been done. CJ was very nice and professional.
Top notch & professional. Highly recommend! Had a follow up after I had an issue on 1st visit. This company response was immediate & concerning of my issues. Handled this brilliantly & compassionately. Best service I have had in any category of home maintenance of my home ownership in Northern Colorado to date since I moved here in 1988! Bravo & relieved.
LightenUp did a great job for us. The quality is five-star and the techs were very professional and kind. We would definitely recommend them.
Technician was knowledgeable, experienced, straightforward with prices and friendly. You can't beat the $29 diagnostic fee. The day before I spent $98 to have a plumber from a different company come out and give an estimate which was ultimately not within our budget. He left with my hundred bucks and still had all the same plumbing issues to deal with.
Ryan and Cole were the consummate professionals. Their attention to detail, cleanliness, timelines, and informative manners, along with their courteous demeanor make them an asset to the company. These young men were, in my opinion, top notch. Thank you!

In June, 2021 I had my entire HVAC system replaced by Lighten Up. My experience was great from beginning to end. Two installers arrived on time, they wore uniforms, covered their shoes and covered all carpet they would walk on with plastic and rugs. Professional all the way through the day was the way they worked. I also was very happy with the brand of the AC. I especially want to mention Kevin, Brandon and Ryan. Scott, their Service Manager, stopped by to check on them. I will recommend “Lighten Up” to any of my friends interested. Kay Tiff
The service performed was part of my 2year membership and the work down was to inspect my furnace. After My 2yr membership expires I will never do business with Lighten up ever again. And this is why 11/22/21 Lighten Up did an inspection on furnace and said all was good. Excellent!! Then they told me my humidifier was not producing water and they said the solenoid was bad and then told me it would cost $400 for a new Solenoid installed or replace the humidifier with a digital unit for $1k installation with 5 year warranty. I asked if they blew out the lines and they said yes. After they left thinking I needed to replace the Solenoid (last time I replaced was 12/12/16) I checked the lines myself and found the line going to the humidifier has a yellow orifice (which I know about) and that was plugged. I cleaned it with Liquid oxygen and blew air through it and all was good. I reinstalled the lines, now the Humidifier is working. They want to charge $400 for a new Solenoid!!! What is wrong with you people. Talk about over charging. I have bought 2 Solenoids in the past and they were $42 / $45 now $50 and I replace it myself, 30 minutes to do it. The Humidifier is 26 years old. As far as the digital version Amazon has an AprilAir for $216. i can install this myself as well. John P Iabone
Had a very good experience with lighten up. Electrician listened to my problem (needed a new outlet for an electric car charger, not much space in my panel, looking to add electric hot water and heat) and proposed a simple and relatively inexpensive solution. Work was done on schedule with no surprises. Will be using this firm again.
Called Lighten Up for a furnace tune-up. They came and took one look at our 14 year old furnace and claimed a whole host of problems including CO leak and we needed a whole new $15k system! He never even did the cleaning. He did shut the furnace switch off and made us promise not to turn it on until replaced (scare-tactic). I went out and bought a brand new CO monitor that night and plugged it in. Zero readings since! We had Chambers Plumbing & Heating come out for a real inspection and there is absolutely nothing wrong with our system. Do not use this company!
The whole team from inspection/sales through installation was professional, personable, and work was scheduled and completed quickly. In the space of one day, my 20 year old furnace/AC unit was replaced along with new water heater. Very satisfied.
David was the service technician who came out today. He was prompt, courteous, and very professional. He explained everything he was doing and answered all of my questions. I am very impressed with Lighten Up. You have a new forever customer! Thank you so much!
Had them come out to give me an estimate, and they were out next day. The job was booked that day, but the parts were stuck on back-order. They held the job until the parts came in, and they were back out on site a couple days after that. Install was done within a few hours, they cleaned up everything after the job was done, and everything worked as intended. The price was also very reasonable, and settling up after the job was quick and painless. I looked through a lot of businesses before I settled on this one, next time I'll call them first.
After dealing with another plumbing company and getting no results, I decided to call Lighten Up. I immediately liked their phone demeanor and their willingness to get someone to our house that day. Stephen showed up on time, was very courteous, diagnosed and fixed our boiler issue in about eight minutes. He then found another issue with the boiler (that I had noticed before, but wasn't concerned as it did not affect the operation of the boiler) and repaired it in about 10 minutes. We now have heat and boiler is back to functioning perfectly. Thank you Stephen and Lighten Up. You will definitely be my first call from now on.
As I explained to the customer service person yesterday who called, my intention here to is to provide a fair, polite, honest assessment of my experience with Lighten Up. I hired them to perform a kitchen drain clean-out for my rental property; after explaining the urgency and that I needed someone who could address the issue quickly, they committed to a 12-4pm window on a Friday which would mean a 24-28hr period where my tenant would not have use of the kitchen plumbing...a bit longer than I had hoped for, but I deemed this acceptable and it would allow me to try a new service provider. I then received a call in the middle of the Friday arrival window (2:15pm) and the customer service person told me their technician slated to do the job was being held up on a project that was taking more time than anticipated. Okay, I thought, they are probably going to tell me they will arrive after the stated 4pm timeframe, possibly designate a different technician, etc. However I was told that they won't be able to fit me in at all today, and I'd have to wait until the following Monday. This was unacceptable to me, as I can't have my tenant go another 72 hours without plumbing. I explained that the reason I hired Lighten Up was because they committed to servicing the problem on Friday. The customer service person apologized and said there is nothing she could do. I then asked her what creative solution can we come up with: perhaps a different technician could come after their current job? No. Perhaps any technician could come after hours or on the weekend? No. Could you at least ask your technicians if they would be willing to take on this urgent job (with a job scope of less than one hour)? No. Could I pay one of your technicians a premium to come after 5pm? No. She stated they don't offer 24 hour service, to which I replied I wasn't asking for 24 hour service; I was looking for some creative solution to get the job done before Monday since they are the ones that committed to F
I had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Cole G into my home to repair my toilet yesterday. He was on time, extremely polite, explained what he was going to repair and how much it was going to cost before he began. I've used many repair services since I've moved to Fort Collins, and I can honestly say, Lighten Up Plumbing is head and shoulders above all other companies I've used. From the first call to arrange the appointment until completion, this is the most professional, customer service driven company I've ever dealt with. This was definitely a 5 star experience. A huge thank you goes out to Cole G for a job well done!
