Comfortable Design Inc. Heating & Cooling

We needed to have some maintenance done on our central air unit so I reached out to Comfortable Designs. Vicki was very pleasant and helpful with scheduling an appointment within a week. The tech arrived right on time, explained what he needed to do and finished in a very short amount of time. Would definitly use them again and would recommend.

I have been using Comfortable Design for 5 years. They installed my AC unit, furnace and humidifier. I was under the impression that their service was good and they were always prompt. I scheduled a yearly service for my furnace in November of 2022.
When the technician arrived he was not prepared to do any type of service on my furnace, stayed for 15 minutes and was not even able to change the filter as he had not brought one with him (this was not an observation as he told me outright he was not prepared to be there). He told me everything looked good, but there was a part that was cracked on the top of the furnace and would need to be fixed and they would call me that week to schedule a follow-up appointment. After not receiving a call, I followed up 2 weeks later and was told they were unable to get the part. I tried to call back numerous times over the next 3 months regarding follow-up and was told repeatedly told that they would call me back. My last follow-up call I was told I was just not a priority, though the part had apparently arrived weeks ago. After receiving no follow-up for 3 months I finally hired another company to come service the furnace in January of 2023. When they arrived I was advised that the filter system on my furnace was never installed correctly (and the broken part Comfortable Design had told me about would not be covered under my warranty because the furnace company considered it an installer error), my humidifier was also not installed correctly and I paid them to do a full maintenance on the furnace and humidifier because the technician informed me that there was no way a proper maintenance was completed in 15 minutes. Also, they came and serviced the furnace, ordered the part needed, installed and fixed all issues within 1 week. They also advised me that I should contact them in the spring as they would like to take a look at my AC unit as they're concerned there will be installer errors/issues with that as well.
Needless to say, after 3 months of frustration, apparently 5 years of bad service and $720 for another company to fix all of the issues with my furnace and humidifier, I will no longer be using Comfortable Design in York for any future service.

Joe and his son were very professional, and very knowledgeable. They kept us informed of everything they found with the old system. They made us reel very comfortable with our decision to hire Comfortable Design to replace our HVAC system. I would recommend them to anyone who needs HVAC services, I felt like I had a company looking out for my well being not just trying to grab my money.

4 Days before Christmas, with overnight lows expected to reach 30 degrees, and 15 degree weather forecast to arrive in 2 days, our furnace died. The fan kept blowing, but there was no heat.

I called a company with whom we have a maintenace contract, only to discover that their "emergency service" wasn't really, and they couldn't even get a tech out to look at our furnace until the following afternoon.

My mom has used the services of Comfortable Design for years, so I gave them a call - and they were WONDERFUL. Vicky was great on the phone, and told me that while it might be late, Joe would be out to check on our furnace and see what he could do to get us through the night - that they didn't leave people in the cold.

Their cost to come out and check was very reasonable and the service was great. Joe got the furnace working to warm us up a bit, and the next day, they were back out to see about a more permanent repair.

We had to replace the whole furnace, but they managed to get us scheduled and the work completed before Christmas Eve and the bitter cold that came with it. The price was great, the team was great, and I wholeheartedly recommend their services.

I approached Joe, the owner of Comfortable Design, about the HVAC systems in the home I bought a year ago. Knowing the value of a good maintenance plan for my HVAC systems, based on 30 years of home ownership, I inquired about the services offered by Comfortable Design. Joe set up an appointment within a week during a very cold, very busy HVAC winter season. He explained how my mini-split systems and gas furnace and AC systems were designed to work in my 130-year old home, as well as the services his company offered to keep my equipment in top running condition. Joe was very knowledgeable and professional, and answered all my questions. Upon my acceptance of the HVAC systems maintenance agreement, Joe's highly capable assistant, Vicki, scheduled the technicians to perform the maintenance. The technicians arrived early and ready to perform the far-overdue cleaning and fine-tuning on my systems. They were very professional and polite, and worked for over 3 hours to bring the systems maintenance current. Seeing that my system is nearing end-of-life, they also advised me on the upcoming rebates for installing a new energy efficient heat-pump and how an upgrade would reduce my energy bills. I am very pleased with the work done by the technicians. My house was just as neat and tidy when they were done as when they started. I am confident Comfortable Design has already improved the operating efficiency of my systems as much as possible. I look forward to working with them on upgrading my systems when the rebates are made available by the state. I highly recommend Comfortable Design, Inc, based on my experience with Joe and the team so far.

My old AC unit was bad and Time to replace it. I had three different estimates, comfortable design gave me the most for my money. The father and son team joe and joe did a great job. Very professional and they take pride in their work. They took the time to make sure everything was right, functioning good and I was happy before they left. They did an awesome job! They gave me reassurance with a one year everything free, service calls, parts, labor, you name it all free. Plus a ten year free parts if anything breaks. That is so much more then the other company’s offered me. The other companies basically said once they install it, I was on my own and had to pay for any other service that I needed done, even if it was a mistake on their end. So it wasn’t hard for me to make a decision and I am very happy that I chose comfortable design.

They repaired our electric heat that wasn't working as well as reprogramming our thermostat. Very responsive, knowledgeable and explained anything we had questions on. We will definitely be using them in the future!

Very professional and knowledgeable. Due to a cancelation they came two hours early. They found the problem was a hole in the heat exchanger of my furnace. They had a brand new unit installed the very next day. I must say including the original furnace when I bought my house this is the fourth furnace. For the first time I have hot forced air. This furnace is not constantly off and on. I will definitely be using these folks for all my hvac needs. The customer attention from the original phone call to when the job was finished was exceptional.

Friday night after hours furnace emergency!!! I called a few companies advertising 24 hour emergency service but they were the only ones that actually could do a friday night emergency check. Super nice guys! Unfortunately our 64 year old furnace wasnt saveable...monday morning started removal/install and had our new furnace up and running within a few hours. Thanks Comfortable Design Inc.!!!

Beyond happy with how professional these guys were! They were able to get me into their schedule ahead of what they originally thought, and made what could've been a very painful decision, very easy and smooth!
