Cool Change Heating and Air

I called Cool Change at 9:00 and had a rep there within an hour and a half. The problem diagnosed and fixed within hours. But the most important part is that there was NO sales pitch to buy a new system, no scare tactics used to make me spend money on anything other than the diagnosed problem. That has NOT happened to me in past experiences with Michael and Sons, Newsome Heating and Air, or Louis. I can highly recommend this company and very glad to I saw their ad. Cool Change squeezed me into their schedule on a busy day (as a new customer even) to fix my heat pump unit. Very friendly service. Honest with part prices/labor costs and took the time to explain every part of the process (and answer my many questions). Would definitely call them again.

I had some other people to come and check my AC and they quoted me something completely outrageous, so I called this guys for a second opinion and not only they made sure I was under warranty , but priced me fairly. The gentlemen name’s are Nic and Simo. They were on time, always respectful and very kind when it came to explain to me what needed to be done.
Definitely a company that not only I recommend but will use every time I need to.

Had a broken A/C compressor. Was able to get directly in touch with the owner at Cool Change after leaving a couple messages with another company. He worked me into an opening that very same day, correctly diagnosed the issue, fixed it immediately, and provided a very reasonable invoice. Five stars!!

**edited. The morning after the owner, JD, called me back taking responsibility and explaining that the technician that worked on my unit was new to its company, therefore used to a different company policy.
He was very polite and had already issued a full refund, not even wanting the call out fee (that did include diagnostic). Once in a while misunderstandings can happen to everybody. JD definitely cared to make mine right and strives to have every single customer satisfied. Recommended

Disappointed by the charge. I was made aware of the 95$ plus taxes call out fee, but when the technician solved the problem switching on and off the circuit breaker (yes, I have been that dumb) I expected it to be not a penny more than 95 plus taxes. It did take him about 20 minutes to find out it was that, but still... a $220 charge left me disappointed.

I called to schedule a service call on a Saturday, and cool changed looked to the most reasonable charge for a site visit. What impressed me the most is that he asked what was going on, and took the time to walk me through possible causes and encouraged me to try a few things myself before scheduling a service call. Seemed more interested in assisting me to fix the problem rather than to charge me if it were unnecessary, which seems to be a rare quality these days...especially in that business. Anyway, with his encouragement I actually fixed the problem myself, but I will absolutely call Cool Change first in the future whenever I need service. The knowledge and superior customer service was outstanding. Thanks!

We had issues with our AC condenser shaking and making a lot of noise, as well as not cooling the house adequately. JD had someone come to our house in less than 45 minutes. When the problem wasn't easily fixed, he made it a priority and came out first thing the next morning. He spent almost all day working on our system, and for the time being it's working as well as it was when we first purchased the home about 5 years ago. This is a almost a 14 year old system and not once did JD try to convince us to buy a new system, or try to sell us a bunch of new parts unless it was absolutely necessary. Very trustworthy and professional service. I would highly recommend him to anybody having issues with their AC.

On June 15 our AC failed to work and it was one of those hot days when the temperature went up to 99 degree. At 7PM I called a top rating HVAC service provider on Yelp and they said they could only come 7 days later, while calling other HVAC service providers just didn't yield me any response. Early next morning I texted 3-4 HVAC companies thinking some of those companies might be technically advance enough to use a mobile phone as their service number and could receive my text. Cool Change was the only one returned my message and promised to come the same morning.

By 10AM they arrived at our house and quickly figured out it was a capacitor issue. They also told us that our AC had not be serviced or cleaned and the overgrown shrubs adjacent to the AC unit is giving it a hard time to run properly. So we got the capacitor replaced and had the AC cleaned. All at a reasonable cost. JD had his brother from Florida coming to help him so the job was done quickly, so by 11AM all issues are fixed and the cleaning was done. They also took the effort to trimmed the overgrown shrubs blocking AC air circulation or heat exchange.

The funny thing is that now our house is pretty cool when the thermostat is set at 77 degree. Before the repair, the house was that cool even when we set the temperature at 75 degree. I guess cleaning might have helped, but I could be wrong.

I would recommend Cool Change to anyone in the area. Speedy and top quality work with quite reasonable prices.

Cool Change has a great response time. He answered the phone right away and after asking a few questions about my HVAC, we set up an appointment for him to service my HVAC unit. He showed up on time and thoroughly inspected the HVAC and repaired it for a very fair price. Highly recommend Cool Change to anyone who wants a reliable technician.

I can say without a doubt this is the most honest HVAC company in Raleigh. Other companies will try to sell you a new, expensive system you don't need. These guys walk you through the issue and repair it in the same day. It's very rare to find a company that puts ethics first these days. I'm beyond grateful we found Cool Change.
