Moved into a new house a couple years back, MTB installed my units. My units were still under warranty from MTB and the manufacturer and yet MTB would not warranty the work. They would not and could not provide an itemized quote for material (all it took was Souter and freon) for me to send it to the manufacturer who was going to reimburse the cost to fix it. Went back-and-forth with a service manager several times about meeting this and they still refused. Said it is not how they do business. So I had to bring out another company and pay out-of-pocket for the repairs to be done and was out the money. I work in a business similar to this company, and I personally think it is very poor business to not even be able to provide an itemized detail Sheet of material and labor that is going to be done.
I’ve used MTB for the last 5 years and have had them put in 2 new systems and service them. They have done a good job. They don’t upsell too much on extra items that aren’t necessary but sometimes they do.. I’ve appreciated they service.
If I could, I would give the salesman and quality control employee 5 stars, but my rating is due to other employees and time with my system. It started out really good with the salesman. He was very helpful and would respond to emails quickly and after working hours. Answered all my questions fast. I had the system installed. First day they were able to get the a/c part working. Came back a second to finish the heat part which fine with me. I looked in my attic after the first day. Found a mess which i figured they would clean up the next day, they did not clean the mess. I found my old water drain tossed to the other side of my attic along with old wires they removed. They left plastic shavings and small metal screws, moved insulation and didn't put it back. Broke a light bulb and found it stuffed in some insulation. I asked to have a wire run a certain way to be out of where i have storage, wasn't done. The system failed inspection for 2 minor items. The install crew came back. I asked if they could fix the wire, they only stapled it to a rafter, not fixed. The QC employee had to take care of my concerns and take away the garbage they left behind. The system came with a 1 year parts and labor warranty. About 10 months in, it stated to short cycle. Called mtb, 4 days later a tech came by. He said it was overcharged and they "will take care of it since it's out of warranty" I said good try, still have 2 months left. He said well that's what the office told him. sure they did. About year after that the entire system stopped working. They came out and said it was the txv valve and it will cost $1000. Less than 2 years and already broken? Got a second opinion, same outcome. Of course mtb would not cover it. I contacted Train, explained the situation. They said most likely it was from being overcharged and short cycling. At this point i was done with MTB. Train stepped up and helped cover the repair. This is a good company. My a/c has been since then. A little after this my roof was leaking where MTB had installed the new vent through the roof. Didn't even bother calling them, I knew they would take care of this problem either.
The guys from MTB Mechanical came to show me how to program our thermostat and to reset some of the settings. They were prompt, courteous and knowledgeable and encouraged me to call them back if I had any further problems. Good experience.
1 year old Trane system was short cycling. Called MTB they sent tech within 3 hrs. Diagnosed bad TXV thermoatatic expansion valve. Left valve open so can use system until new valve can be installed.
The service technician was professional in all respects. He treated our home with respect. He provided a great deal of information and advice on how to keep the heating system running like new.
The original install of a TRANE HVAC system had issues that were repaired within a few months of install. A year or so later the issue repeated and MTB determined the best action was to replace the outside unit completely. Well done MTB, you stood behind your product and service work!
Wanted a Halo air purifier installed on our heating/cooling system and both April (who I spoke to over the phone to request to have it installed) and Jeff (who did the install) were great. They were both super helpful with answering our questions.
Cory was the technician who came out for our bi-annual maintenance . He was very professional and courteous. I have been impressed so far with MTB Mechanical.
