I had Jay replaced the upstairs AC system a few years after we moved in our current house, that was many years ago. Since then, Jay has been the “AC” guy for the annual maintenance & repairs. What I like about Jay is he is honest, fair and he does a good job, in addition, I’ve never had any difficulties to reach him, even if he was not available at the time, he would call right after! So far my experience with Jay is very good! I highly recommend Jay & his team to anyone who is looking for an AC person!

We had a problem with one of our Slantfin boilers where the automatic feeder would not work correctly with the low water cutoffs. Our boiler is required by code to work with two low water cutoffs which require some complicated wiring and a more powerful transformer. We also needed a new low water cutoff to replace the old burnt out 67 which is installed in a tight space area that is difficult to work in. Jay came up with an efficient solution to solve our problem. After the installation, Jay and his partner also took the time to show us how everything worked, and even checked and bleed our other boiler. I find Jay to be very knowledgeable in this area and would highly recommend him to anyone!

My Rheem hot water heater from Home Depot broke down due to flooding, thankfully (or so I thought) it was under warranty. Rheem sent over a third-party repair man; I am not sure if it was because he did not want to work, my close quarters/messy basement was unfavorable to him, or a mixture of both, but he told me there was nothing he could do for my hot water heater and left. Thankfully, I gave Jay a call. Jay is a great guy, he was friendly, on time, more than eager to help me, and KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING. He got my hot water heater running in less than an hour! I am thinking of replacing my hot water heater, and when I do, I will not be purchasing one from Home Depot again, I will go through Jay.

We contacted Jay Heating and Air after having issues with our electric boiler for a year. We found that the proper wiring was not installed and burned out. Jay took the time to educate us on the proper wiring we needed to resolve the issue, showing true concern for our safety. Once the wiring was resolved by a professional electrician, Jay and his team came back to hook up our boiler , providing us with heat again as we approach another winter. He gave great advise on how we can save on energy costs, as well. He was always on time and made himself available to answer all my questions and concerns by phone and in person —before receiving any payment. Even the charge was affordable, given all the advise and trips he made to the house to troubleshoot and make sure everything was in working order. He and his team displayed such amazing professionalism and thoroughness that I would recommend Jay heating and Air to my own friends and family, knowing they will be in great hands.

I recently updated my heating system at my property in Yonkers and I thought I could call it a day with it it for some time. Not so easy... The communication between my boiler and my thermostat was not so seamless and I also had a problem with my boiler not shutting off while my red light (low water alert) blinking. Several different plumbers identified and seemingly solved the problem with not much luck. After a desperate search in the area I decided to find someone else (4th time this year) to service my boiler based on customer reviews. I found Jay’s Heating and Air and called them than we quickly set up an appointment. They arrived half an our EARLY and were patiently waiting for me to arrive. They also had difficulties to solve the problems mentioned above but when they hit a dead end they didn’t give up nor pretended that the job was done. They called the manufacturer of the boiler and waited patiently an hour outside until somebody responded! They were going through every possible scenario with a tech rep until they figured it out what was the problem. They charged very reasonably and also provided some free, rough estimates to some other projects we will do in the future. I will definitely stick with these guys for my HVAC issues/updates/repairs.

My Boiler went out and googled a repair tech. Jay's number came up and immediately called. I explained to Jay that I had a 18 month old and it was 15 degrees out, he showed up within 20 min and got started on the repair. He was professional and got the heat up and running in no time.

Had my Central Air installed. Clean work done by his team in middle of June. It feels so much better than having window units. Unit is running efficient and with being 90 degrees yesterday inside was really comfortable. Will definitely call Jay's Heating for additional services if needed.

I want to start this review off by saying that the only reason I am giving Jay s Heating & Air a 1 star rating is because I would not have been able to post this review with a 0 rating.

I called this company on Wednesday as I had an issue with my gas furnace turning off before it reaches the programmed setting on my thermostat. Jay made a house call on Wednesday and, according to him, he increased the speed on my furnace. The furnace worked well for ONE day and is not working properly at all now. For this quick visit he charged me $150.00 and didn't even provide me with an invoice! I have repeatedly asked him to provide me with an invoice and, as of yet, the invoice has not been provided to me.

Today (2 days later) I woke up to the same problem in my house (thermostat set high and inside temperature reading low). I called Jay again and he came to my house and told me that I may be having a problem with my High Temperature Limit Control. I asked him how much that would cost and he quoted me $75.00! I initially told him to do the work. However, after he left, I did some research on the cost of the High Temperature Limit Control using the model number of my furnace. To my surprise, the most expensive Limit Control that I could find was no more than $25.00. I immediately called Jay and questioned him about this price markup and he told me that he has to make something on the Limit Control. I can certainly understand a slight markup, but almost $50.00!!

I had another company come in today to service my furnace and, what a coincidence, after my furnace was looked at by Jay on Wednesday my blower motor seized today! I now sit here and wonder if the "work" that Jay supposedly performed on my furnace on Wednesday contributed to my furnace blower motor seizing! The company that ultimately wound up doing the work gave me a warranty on parts and labor. Again, not only did Jay NOT give me an invoice, but he didn't even guarantee/warranty his work!!

Needless to say, I would not recommend this company to anyone and have already thrown away his business card!

The bottom line is that Jay charged me $150.00 and did not resolve the problem!

Jay was prompt and professional. When other people told me I had to wait or pay extra because of covid he did not take advantage of us. Instead he delivered and installed and came back a few weeks later to make sure it was all good. Don’t look anywhere else fair and reliable.
