One evening I found our HVAC was down. Palco had done service jobs for us so naturally I emailed them that night. Next morning, very early, they emailed me back. They couldn't arrange an appointment for me until the next business day, understandable. I made an appointment for 8am Monday. No one showed up at the appointment time so I waited for 30 minutes and emailed again. They called me quickly apologizing, saying the technician had a family emergency and if I could wait until the next day. I asked them to please send someone over the same day, I really didn't want to wait one more day. They said they would try. We called each other a couple times throughout the day and finally a technician came in the late afternoon. The technician was very polite, pleasant but unprepared, maybe because he was sent to us at last minute notice. I had to loan him our own ladder and beach bucket. He didn't even use the mat nor shoe wrap to protect the floor as Palco always did. He finished the service within 45 mins and the HVAC was back on. That night, one unit's filter fell down and we put it back ourselves hoping we did the right thing. After 24 hours, during the night, the HVAC was down again. I started to talk to my neighbors, who all own the same type of HVAC and most got services from Palco in the past. Some suggested we hire a different company. I thought about that, but I decided to talk to Palco so I emailed them again telling them what happened. It was getting warmer and warmer, especially the day we were waiting for the technician to come. We opened all the windows and doors, but we almost had heat stroke. Therefore, I really hope the HVAC could be fixed quickly, and, well. I asked Palco to please send someone experienced in a timely manner. They responded quickly and the manager himself apologized to me and worked on the patch. That same day, the technician Mr. M came. He was also very polite and pleasant. He was fully prepared. He was definitely experienced (he knew a lot of our structure, of what the previous one didn't and even had to ask me). He spent 2 hours checking everything inside out and taught me how to control the thermostat and how our HVAC worked. I was grateful. The HVAC has been in good shape since. When my neighbors asked me about the result I told them all the truth. Although there was a hiccup in the beginning, I will still hire Palco for the service jobs.
We hired Palco Mechanical to replace the 40 years old HVAC system at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church in Yonkers (on Seymour Street). We also hired them to replace AC in the rectory. The timing of the project coincided with the COVID-19 pandemic and while timeline had to be adjusted considerably, they did an outstanding job on the project. In fact we are going to keep them as our ongoing maintenance company. If your business or church needs to HVAC services, I highly recommend Palco Mechanical.
