These guys have a sign that says call for a free estimate. I had a water heater problem and when they showed up, they quoted me a really high price, and when I said I'd think about it, they tried to strong-arm me by saying they will charge $175+ tax for showing up. When I asked about the free estimate, they said free estimates are only done by people who aren't busy. I called up another plumber who is known for charging up the nose but for proper work and even they quoted about 20% less than this guy. They also did not charge me for an estimate. These guys declined to match the price but they said they can do it on the same day. I was thinking to hire them, then suddenly they said their credit card machines are broken and they will need it in cash. Really shady because minutes before they had charged $175 plus tax on the credit card. I decided this was too shady and did some more calls, and I eventually found a guy who charges 40% less and they did an excellent job. I am out close to $200 from these guys but it's better than if I had hired them. Do yourself a favor and look someone else.
Response to Owner Reply: I think the person who came to the home was someone with initials EH (from what I can see on the receipt). I don't know who I spoke to on phone but when he started talking cash, he used a different phone number xxx-631-1052.

I had the same negative experience as the previous reviewer.
They have a sign that says call for a free estimate. I had a simple shower knob problem and when he showed up, he strong-armed me by saying it's $125 just for showing up. If he does ANY work (even 10 mins) then it's $225 minimum.
They say they need to come for an estimate. When they come, they say it's already $125 for showing up. Then they say that's "included" in the $225 minimum work.
In the end I was forced to pay $225 for 10 mins of work. I know others don't charge for free estimates and will be going elsewhere in the future.

I had moved into an older apartment, which tragically had hardware that likely dated back to before I was even born. Luckily, it was easy and painless to schedule an appointment with Staten Island Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning (wow that was a mouthful). Robert arrived on time in a bright and cheery mood first thing in the morning. He had explained that with older faucets like mine, you had to be very careful or the whole building could lose water. Well, good thing Robert is a professional. He even went out of his way to pick up extra parts at the hardware store. Within 30 minutes, he had installed two faucets, one in the bathroom and one in the kitchen. LOOK HOW SHINY THEY ARE! I am beyond pleased with the quick and efficient service. Highly recommend for your next faucet installation!

This company knows their business but they are expensive. $175 to install a valve. To hook up a sink $500+ There has to be less expensive plumbers. Over a $1000 to disconnect an old sink and hook up a new one with 3 new valves. Maybe 2 hours of work.

Requested plumbing service - I will say the timelines was prompt. However, the gentleman came to my home - looked at my toilet for less than a minute before telling me I needed the valve replaced. He then told me that the valve that needed replacement was 185. I expressed that is a lot of money for one part - I could purchase a brand new toilet for that price. He then told me that there was an 80 dollar service fee.
I inquired when I originally called if the company charged a service fee and I was told no. I was advised someone will come out free of charge and provide me with an estimate. He then said he wouldn’t charge me the 80 dollar fee but i had to pay the 185 for the part and to make a decision now or he wouldn’t come back. I told him to have a nice day.
Turns out - the valve was fine it just needed to be screwed and it was actually the flap that needed replacement. The valve itself is a 10 dollar part and the flap was 5 dollars.
I would never recommend this company to anyone. I understand making a profit but being completely taken advantage of is much different. Take your business elsewhere.
Reply :: while I am sorry for your loss - but I called your business. If the answering service sent out someone else that was never expressed during or after my call. Also I don’t have a receipt because I didn’t pay him.

I had a clogged kitchen sink and a leaky pipe. I called the office and spoke to Annmarie, Robert was dispatched in a timely manner. He discovered the clog was from grease and properly cleared the drain, then replaced the parts causing the leak.
I was very happy with Robert's work. I highly recommend this company.

On March 8th I called national grid because I smelled gas in my basement. They had to lock my gas meter due to a gas leak they couldn’t locate leaving me with no heat or hot water. I called Staten Island plumbing and spoke to Ann Marie. Within the hour two guys were on the job with an air test and and located a leak on an elbow in the wall and were able to repair the leak. The gas company returned and checked for leaks and gave me the all clear. Staten Island Plumbing is great!
