Nor West is an exceptional company that has been in business for over 20 years. Their staff is phenomenal and always put the customers needs first. They are very flexible and always do what they can to make it extremely easy and convenient for their customers. Their service team does a great job and they are always clean, neat and professional and get the job done right. I strongly recommend them to anyone that requires service or installations of PTAC units. Two thumbs up and as far as I am concerned, they are one of the best acts in town.

5 stars all around! Maureen is easy to deal with and very realiable in making sure the job gets done. I’m going to give a special shout out to Junior and Henry who recently cleaned a bunch of PTAC units for me. I am a stickler and am known for driving some vendors crazy but these guys did a flawless job. Meticulous in making sure each unit was left without a trace of dust. They made sure to go over each unit with me upon completion. They very much deserved the $50 tip. Great job guys and see you soon!

Norwest took over with a service contract for all the PTAC units in my building about a year ago. Have had 3 units in my apartment serviced, and recently had 2 units replaced (10 year old units that were the original units installed when my building was built). Dealt with Maureen for scheduling on all occasions. She’s lightning fast to respond via email (even during weekends and holidays!), and most recently was able to get 2 brand new units out to my apartment for installation within 2 days of contacting them in the middle of a serious heatwave. Will be relying on Norwest for whatever other PTAC repair and serving needs I have in future.

While it cost me a lot of time, effort and patience, Norwest ultimately resolved the problem with the PTAC unit it provlded. I purchased a PTAC unit installed by Norwest in June 2018 for my rental unit and in June 2019 my tenants informed me the unit was not cooling. Norwest techs made 2 service calls and determined unit was working well. I had to inspect myself and prove to Norwest that the unit was not cooling the space. Norwest removed the unit and I had to pay another source to have a temp unit installed, which made me unhappy and I still think Norwest should have provided a temporary unit. Norwest replaced the compressor and reinstalled the unit. The repaired unit still did not cool and this was during the heat wave when temps in NYC exceeded 110 degrees. Initially the company told me they could not come for days and could not provide a temporary unit, but after a conversation sent a tech same day to remove unit and install a temporary unit. Ultimately Norwest determined the original unit was defective and had to be returned to the manufacturer and replaced the unit. While I had to spend a lot of time and struggled a bit to be patient and professional, the issue was resolved and the company also dedicated a lot of time and patience to make things right. Was meaning to leave this review since Feb/March of this year when we had the Islandaire PTAC installed. However, I wanted to wait to see how my Islandaire PTAC would perform in the heat of summer. It heated quite well and really quietly in the cold of winter 2019. So far, the PTAC from Islandaire is performing flawlessly this summer. We had Suburban PTACs as original equipment from the developer of our LIC condo. While durable, these units tend to be noisy by comparison to the new Islandaire units. Maureen was a delight to work with over the phone. Even when our desired schedules didn’t coincide, she made sure her technicians were there promptly and they installed the unit safely and timely. These PTACs are high in price because of the combination of being gas/ electric. However, considering that we got about 10 years of life service out of the original PTAC, we hope the Islandaire PTAC performs similarly.
